Braver than me. I've owned the V4R Tuono for 4 years and recently upgraded to the 2017 Factory and I've not had the bottle to try the launch control on either of them. Your video proves it works and I'll leave it at that :-)

Just an observation id be interested to see the sales for Tuono's this year....just come back from the TT and seen more tuono's than ever before. I think the message is getting through about how good they are (RSV4 factory owner myself). 6th year of ownership myself of an aprilia v4 and ive no plans to sell it, and if i did id just get a newer one!!

Homer J. Simpson I've got the old pre aprc model and in 6 years the only thing that's actually failed is one throttle position sensor. The rocker covers leaked about 4 years ago also but that was cured with a part upgrade (they changed the shape). Just back from the tt 800 mile round trip and its not missed a beat....for the 6th time!
@LambChopRides7 жыл бұрын
Good to know dude as reliability seems to come up all the time! Ive given the Tuono back and am missing it already :(

Lamb Chop Rides Yeah... I do try to look after it. Oil changes every 3k and below, coolant flush at the same time. Full akra system modded ecu, factory integrated qs, lithium battery, sas system removed, hid light upgrade, heavy duty starter cables, loads of ti, brembo rcs Master, nitron race pro rear to replace the ohlins, modded forks, hel lines and a ton of stuff I cant remember.... The problem is it's so good to me I can't stop buying stuff for it!

It looked like you were slow releasing the clutch (which resulted in a slow start)... my understanding is that with LC you should release aggressively and let the bike manage acceleration (of course that doesn't mean you shouldn't "ease into it" through a number of trials with increasing aggressiveness... has to be scary dropping the clutch fast at wot). If LC required you to manage the clutch that much then it wouldn't really be doing much would it? Love the Tuono... probably my next ride if I can find a place to get it serviced within 3 hours.

Very pleased to see that you were careful to stay well below the national speed limit there, LC ('specially since I recognised that stretch o' tarmac & know how tempting it is to give it the berries). @@LambChopRides I chickened out and bought a Ducati Supersport S. In September I got a BMW F800GT, first bike for 21 years, and I got bored of it. One sentence from one of your reviews..."Tuono's not a bike for beginners"...while I'm not a beginner, I reckon its too big a jump. And I'll get bored of the Ducati so at least I've got somewhere to go. Tuono in 2020!

@clermontjuniorlavoie13297 жыл бұрын
Flipper after 10 or 15 start on lunch control mode first when you did that your tire must imperatively be hot or that wil cause an overslip of your clutch and you will kill it so that mode is made for track day only ...but i know everybody try it ...me first but like i say its not good for your bike
@d1sturb3d1197 жыл бұрын
Is it adjustable? Also sounds like it's holding revs a little high. Watch some videos on Ricky Gadson and how he launches. I never go over 3k on the blade and it shoots off like there's no tomorrow. Minimal clutch modulation needed. You can then release the clutch completely so you only have to worry about throttle and shifting. Try it out and see. I attached the link below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZKygH-Oid2Yrck
@LambChopRides7 жыл бұрын
Not sure it could adjust the revs depending on the setting.. But I would imagine only higher! Think it was about 7k..
@d1sturb3d1197 жыл бұрын
Try launching at 3 like that video and do a side by side. Would love to see if you could best the launch control yourself.
@LambChopRides7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I think perhaps if you were experienced and done a bit of a 1/4 stuff in the past you could beat it.. But the Tuono is sooo front wheel happy I think it would be really tricky
@d1sturb3d1197 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's the difference. With an inline you can afford to roll off the clutch fast and it picks up the wheel way later down the line. But twins and V4's would wheelie quickly. Takes some finesse to get it off the line fast. That launch is so important though. Once that's locked in right it's a pleasure to get the bike off the line.

Lamb Chop Rides haha yeah I'm only taking the piss I wouldn't want to try it on the road either. You ought to have a look at riding with Tom's videos on his old BMW S1000RR at the drag strip. He just holds it wide-open and dumps the clutch and the bike does the rest.
@LambChopRides7 жыл бұрын
Yeah seen those before, think he beat the system manually too didn't he if I remember well...
@bchant197 жыл бұрын
Lamb Chop Rides yeah I believe that is right it just goes to show that if you have the balls to do it the old fashioned way it can be faster cause the electronics don't knock the power back as much .
