In this video, I review the Aqua Vac Carpet Extractor. If you've watched my videos for any length of time, you'll know I've been a long-time fan of the McCulloch 1385 steamer.
This extractor fits that same category:
- It's affordable
- It has a compact design so it fits in tight spaces
- It gets the job done
Enjoy!

Proof is in the pudding. You are SHOWING results that are great! No real need to spend $1K on an extractor, unless you can totally afford it. My process is steam(loosen the grime), spray cleaner, steam again, extract. I always get great results.

For those who are saying, " You NEED a hot water one" would simply be wrong. I've used extractors both with hot water and not, and results are just about the same. If you have a steamer (which most of us have if we do detail) just use the steamer as your hot water source. Again if you detail, on most cases your steamer is already fired up for an interior. Just my opinion, rock on as usual Oscar

Thanks for making the video , I’ve been critical of the cost of extractors first years. I always thought they were way to expensive. But after seeing everyone saying how good this is I’m probably gonna get one now. So my question is if you had it like that. Would you pick this or the Mytee s300H ? I mean I do a decently enough job with my setup I think. But I’ll admit this is better than what I got now. So yeah let me know your thoughts.

Copy and paste from the same question someone else asked: Yeah, I don't use it all the time. Mostly on whitish/brownish fabric. You can go to a local janitorial/carpet cleaning supply store and pick up quality fiber rinse products. Two house-hold names for carpet cleaning are Chemspec and Prochem: - www.jondon.com/prochem-all-fiber-rinse.html - www.sun-beltusa.com/all-fiber-textile-rinse.html I buy mine locally, these are just quick links to show you what they are

My Bissell spot cleaner which I used for a few jobs just started sparking and almost caught on fire. I bought it remanufactured fr $50. I need a new Extractor, but not sure I want to spend $400. Hello, i'm a romanian living in Austria, in my country (Romania) you get the best for the money you pay, because people really care about their money there, as a minimum wage is around 300 Euros.. I just paid 50 Euros there for a full interior detailing, they removed the seats and every removable thing like the sunshields and others.. i got a bang for the buck, as you say it. I used to work for some romanians here when i arrived, they were selling cars and i was the guy "detailing" them.. interior cleanings, but not washing the carpets or seats, i was only using a normal vacuum cleaner, like a house vacuum cleaner, and sometimes exterior "polishing???" waxing, i belive you call it... Now i'm looking forward to go on my own, here in Austria are alot of "workshops" doing this, but all of them are doing it just to do it, it's way overpriced (compare to how much i paid in Romania) and their services are way under "decent"... maybe someone can point me in the right direction? How should i start? I don't own a garage, i'm looking forward to rent one.. should i start as a "roamer"? Should i market my services as "i'm coming to you"? I might sound funny, but english is like my 4th language, any advice is highly appreciated, thank you for your time! Oh, so you don't missunderstand, 1 EUR = 1,16 USD

A horse can be used as a means of transportation and a car can be used as a means of transportation. They both do the job and get you from Point A to Point B, but one is much more efficient than the other. When it comes to business, it's about efficiency. What can I do as a business owner to cut down on the amount of effort, but achieve premium quality. A hot water extractor would have cleaned the seats faster and with less effort. Gear matters. Any business owner who makes an excuse not to invest in better equipment, don't deserve to be in business. Spend the money, it's an investment that'll pay for itself.

1:) detailing extractor wand $35 - $65 on ebay 2;) 35 foot 1.5 inch pool vacuum hose from home depot or lowes $40 Model# 69235 3:) 50 foot air hose from harbor freight $25 4:) Two air house adapters , one male one female $3 5:) 3/4 to 1/4 air hose adapter Model# 801789 $7 6:) Velcro straps to hold two hoses together $8? 7:) whatever you paid for your shop vac and a coupler to the 1.5 inch hose I made one of these a while back to detail cars. You can also make a whole house carpet extractor by removing the spray wand on an electric pressure washer and attaching it to a carpet cleaning spray wand . I employ both of these as low budget high performance detailing and carpet cleaning solution for rental properties and car detailing . If you want to take it further you can also add in a valve to limit the water supply and give you the ability to dial in the correct amount of water / pressure . I use a Ridgid WD1851 shop vac because it has 203 cfm of suction this machine in the video kicks out 60 to 100 cfm max. I pre-spray then scrub the interior of cloth cars and or carpet with a spin brush drill attachment followed by my diy extractor interior is dry within in an hour or two .

Man, at $400 - this is just above what I would consider a "splurge" purchase for a non professional "hobbyist" detailer. I detail a fair amount of cars and need an extractor, but $400 is just out of my price range. I keep hoping that someone will release a cheaper China made basic extractor for $200 or so, I would totally buy one at that price.

Hey! Been trying to find a video detailing this topic, how do you accept customer payment? Do you take cash or do you have a little Squaretrade reader set up? Or do you utilize things like Paypal, facebook pay, etc. My steamer/extractor setup right now is a vacuum that sucks up all of the dirty water after I scrub and clean... so.. not really a steamer LMAO might look into this thing.

I accept cash or card (checks only from repeat customers). I use Square for credit cards. I have a few customers that have Chase as their bank (as do I) and we use Chase Quick Pay. If someone needs to pay via online invoice, I'll create one in Square. I have yet to use PayPal, FB Pay, or any other apps like Venmo.

Just a quick help for you and anyone , I usto do carpet cleaning the biggest issue with them people expect miracles , I operated a ashbys ninja with over 400psi and they still wouldn't pick up half the dirt, it's mainly the products, agitation and if possible steam over the area . Id recommend this or a. Wesley carpet cleaner . The reviews are Terrible but IV had mine for 3-4 years I replaced a few bits but been so so cheap and paid for itself time and time again!

Better to take a high powered nozzle and blast the dirt out of the mats, then use the extractor to suck out the water. Been doing this for years with no negative effects on the mats.
