I thought the gag with ocean master not knowing how to run properly was actually quite funny. I first noticed it on the beach when they were escaping from that prison and thought ‘that’s a really weird way to run’ but then when it turned out to be intentional I loved it.

For a movie that's gone through multiple reshoots and test screenings, Aquaman 2 really has awesome visuals and effects. I like how for most of the movie, the camera takes a few steps back and you get these incredible wide shots. James Wan is a legend.

My daughters and I saw aquaman around 8pm everyone seemed to enjoy the movie. The laughter was real from adults not condescending, and the children’s laughter was genuine. No disparaging moans. I agree with your review 90%, I enjoy your insight.

I saw it in IMAX 3D with my wife and daughter and we all liked it. My wife thought that it had too many jokes. Some scenes reminded me of the 'Pirates' franchise. The film was better than expected. Amber Heard also did great. At least it ends the DCEU on an upbeat and cheery note. Kudos to Wan and crew for making the best film they could, given all the drama surrounding DC and Heard

Well I actually liked the movie. I think there was too much pressure on this movie to get everything right because it was the last film in this series of DC movies. However it was pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised by villain, world building and overall message. I agree that the last line was crazy to do in a DC film. Every knows that’s Iron man’s line and not just any line. Like the movie line of all movie lines lol. Anyway other than that I thought the film was great. I’ll go back and watch it again to make sure I’m not disillusioned. 😂😅

They didn't explain the whale bit at the end very well, but it actually made sense. The whales created a audio resonance frequency with the Sub's sonic canon weapon and ended up overloading it. Think of it as the equivalent of when soldiers are told to break step and not march in unison when they're marching over a bridge so as not to create a resonance frequency with the bridge's own natural frequency, and which could result in the bridge collapsing. In this case the whales were doing the opposite and exactly what the soliders are told not to do and where emitting an audio tone in unison to create said resonance frequency with the sonic canon's own natural resonance and thus pumping it up to the point that it overloaded the canon's charging process and blew it up. As hard as it's been for me to explain it here, it's also probably the reason why they didn't try to do so in the movie, but it does make sense. I just didn't understand why it had to be (exclusively) whales. Most deep sea creatures navigate and communicate using echolation (because it's so deep down there and sunlight doen't reach that far) and producing audio frequency in the water that can be detected by themselves (When the wave bounces back after hitting potential prey) or by other creatures. So it could have been any assortment of sea cratures.

Yes dolphins and whales use sonar to communicate across miles. But I have some issues. 1. Having the ship surrounded by Soundwave going many different directions doesn't amplify sound waves. It only amplifies when the frequencies are the same, and going in the same or at the very least similar directions. Each interaction, if not following this structure, diminishes the power of the wave. 2. Human echo locators are known to cause bleeding in dolphins in close proximity and I believe are much stronger than marine life. Even at close ranges all those animals could not possibly destroy the generator because those sonar Felines travel much farther depths than animals. And if it were the case to work, all those humans would have had their heads explode. 3. What was the goal? To confuse the signal or to destroy the machine because it's not clear when Mamoa says distraction/confusion.

Grace, I haven’t seen this yet, but as for a cetacean using its sonar as a weapon, dolphin can shoot out a sonar blast that can stun its prey. And then the dolphin just eats the knocked out fish. I don’t believe we’ve documented whales doing this yet, but since they’re the pinnacle of cetaceans, it is highly possible some whales might have this hidden skill as well. A sperm whale, for instance, is a predator (of giant squid), hunting in the deepest depths of the oceans. It would be a good place for them to use such a skill. We’ve only just now started observing giant squids, so we have no idea what sort of battles take place in the depths. We only see the sperm whales come to the surface with injuries from their fights with the giant squid.

It really is a slap in the face to the DC and DCEU fans the way this movie ended. A man eating a cockroach is the final scene of this universe. WB didn’t even bother to give this movie a red carpet premiere! I thought the movie was entertaining, yes it had many problems. The issues I had was the extra silliness and the third act, but overall the movie had more positives then negatives. What I would have done to finish off this universe is first of all flip this release with The Flash and have that as the final movie. Give us an epic action sequence in Flash with all the Justice League members as a final goodbye, I mean they had all there except for Superman (Ray Fisher would have never returned again anyway) but at least give us the big 5. At least with the Flash’s ending about multiverse and changes in the universe, it would have made much more sense that a new universe could emerge from this.

The movie took the visuals seriously, but not the storytelling or the writing. Instead half the lines were used as jokes or setting up a joke. Would be great to actually have some real drama between characters or some exposition setting up history, culture, etc. Instead those things just get blown through like you're watching a Saturday morning cartoon or a Pixar movie showing cliche underwater versions of all the things we have on land. I really enjoyed the first Aquaman, but this was just awful.

I wish that Warner Brothers decided to release the film as it was intended in the first place even though it wouldn't matter at all. But at least we would have seen a film with some intention behind. It feels like they released the worst possible version of a James Wan movie... It's like living a mediocre life just because you think once you die then why enjoy life at all. Whereas knowing one day it all ends it's what's makes you live the best life possible.

_The Flash_ went out with Arthur/Aquaman falling down drunk in a puddle. Maybe that (and this movie's ending) was a slap in the face to the guy who put together these movies, executive producer Walter Hamada, but was kicked out just before the premiere of _Black Adam._ Also, I just remembered that _Shazam 2: Fury of the Gods_ ended with him making a dig at both DC and Marvel, saying the Justice Society needed a better name like "the Avengers Society."

Aquaman 2 is a 7 out of 10 to me. some good moments. Aquaman 1 is a 8 out 10 to me. that first movie impressed me more than the second one. Randall Park also impressed me on this second movie. pretty charismatic character and well acted, in my opinion. i was not waiting for it. i also did not understand how the whales imploded that submarine. lol. i would had liked to see a fight between Aquaman and orm versus the Evil King. i liked to hear your thoughts on this Spoiler Review, Grace.

Considering they had 2 different Batman post credit scenes shelved for this ship wreck, Ocean Master eating a cockroach sandwich is meta commentary directed by Gunn against Snyderverse fans saying they enjoyed his garbage because they didn't know any better. It's a massive FU by the GunnVerse DCFU against the loyal fans that stuck with a sinking ship despite years of failures.
