From memory there have been a few signification electronic to orchestral arrangement, most notably Pete tong and the Heritage orchestra, and Faithless did a performance with an orchestra at Tomorrowland!

You might check out Mason Bates. He's a composer who spent part of his life as an electronic DJ, so most of his compositions mix orchestral with electronic music. There are large chunks of this arrangement of Aquamarine that remind me of some of his music, actually.

What they have in common is the continuous appearance of musical instruments and then their exit. Like a scene with different atmospheres, characters and lights are constantly changing. In short, it is rich in layers. Just like what you said, Joe Hisaishi's music makes an emotional description of Ghibli's scene.

I remember watching this when the pandemic started. Watching the creation process that birthed this was honestly the most awe inspiring thing of that year, minus the shitshow that was 2020. Rewatching this two years later, I still feel the magic that this piece gives. Whatever happens, whatever new thing decides to fuck up the world, I hope stuff like this, stuff that gives average people like me hope and wonder, continues to happen. We need more things like this, now more than ever in this bleak world.

This is amazing. I love the melodies withing Synth/Electro instrumentals, but hearing the same instrument samples can get pretty boring on the ears. But this sort of orchestral arrangement is exactly the kind of twist the genre needs, and it sounds amazing. I love it!
