You have very cool coral colors. 3ft deep makes a big difference. I want at least 3ft but no more 16 inches height and maybe 5ft long. I want to do just montiporas with tangs. Cool tank love the colors of your cora. Looking forward for future videos.

Gorgeous. Im about to pull the trigger on an EXT 100. Im with you, the flat clean back glass is wonderful. Some people like to let theirs coraline up but for me I like it super clean and black and I think the Ext should help with scraping it often

Ya, the view inside the tank is on point, flow isn’t obstructed. And for cleaning, depends. If you use your magnetic scraper, you have to work around the overflow at the back. It’s easier to use a regular scraper and get your arm in there. Enjoy the new tank!

In my 20+ years of keeping fish I never through about the behavior in which the way tangs swim side to side. Ive looking into the way they swim, whether its out of stress or if theyre relaxed and cruising around but never in the aspect that you mentioned. Ive always liked tanks with width because of surface area but thats also a good point. The way the fish act in a tank thats wider is pretty different. Im considering a 150 myself because I got lucky with a good copperband butterflyfish and its grown so much over the past few months as well as I have a really nice scopas tang and whitetail tang. So upgrading them to a 150 from a 75 gallon is a no brainer for me.

Sounds great! Happy for you and your fish on this great upgrade. I honestly don’t know if a square tank is rectangle tank is better for the fish exercise, I’ve just noticed less aggressive swimming hahah. As you said the square allows them to cruise in and around the rock-work, vs the rectangle, it was always about getting to the other end as fast as possible, and that was it. All the best in 2024.

I'm in the Toronto/Mississauga area. So I get my fish at Big Als across the GTA mostly, and in the past at R20 Aquarium. I don't quarantine, but I do have a separate tank where I put new additions and watch them for months but I don't medicate.

Hey thanks! The shelf under the stand came with the innovative marine set. It’s just a piece of mdf. The metal brackets that keep it in place, I’ve never seen before. Wish I could help more. Best!

Nice tank! Got a some cool corals as well. Do the purple and yellow tang never get into a fight? I love the purple but I'm not comfortable trying one out in my reef tank 😄

Surprisingly, never any issues with the Purple and Yellow Tang. The Purple is my oldest fish in the tank, I got him when he was 2". I believe my purple is a model citizen cause he was bullied by my older fish in my previous tank. If you want one, get it SMALL. What's funny is my yellow sometimes goes after the chocolate mimic tang. I guess he's pissed that they are the same colour.

Yes, surprisingly they always have. Except for the first 12 hours of course. But since then they are great. My yellow goes after the chocolate mimic at time, he's mad the share the same colour. I've had the Purple since he was 2" so he's grown up with bigger fish around.

The white bare bottom material? I used acrylic. It gets dirty 😒 and I’m not the best at cleaning it, but I thinking if letting my corals take over. They are easy to scrape off anyway.

YES, within the first month I wished I went bigger, and especially when I added a big fish, that has since been removed. These elegance are crazy, sadly one of them just passed away, for sure why. Maybe the other elegance killed it cause now he's taking over and about 1 Foot wide! I got it off a tank tear down about a year ago.

Thanks so much! Small tanks are more unstable. For this tank, as the water volume was so large, and I don't overstock fish or feed like mad, I was dealing with 0 phosphates and nitrates. At one point had to start dosing them.

Thanks for all the kind words. I have a doser set up for my ALK, Cal and Mag. The doser is a live saver at keeping stability, and I also dose trace elements manually every week.
