I have to admit, between these parks “extra soaked” ride augmentations and universal Japan’s summer splash overlay for their parade, Japan’s parks have come up with some clever ideas to beat the summer heat.

From what I can gather, Japan and Florida are about the same in summer heat. How come Walt Disney World doesn’t get “extra soaked”?

i imagine it’s because tokyo disney isn’t owned by disney but rather the oriental land company, they just pay for the rights. imo japan has better shows, parades and they def have better prices so it’s not really a surprise they’d try to make it cooler for the guests

This is my favorite ride during summer. The first time a ride it in summer many years ago, I could barely read Japanese, and accidentally queued for the “get soaked” line. Happiest accident to me in the park.

I felt a little bad for Tom at 1:17 and thereafter. It kind of reminded me of that Chris Farley SNL sketch where he goes to Sea World and keeps getting splashed over and over. Just him.
