Easy install of an AR safety selector. Remember, the trigger has to be install before the safety, I just don't have a spare trigger at the moment.

I know it’s nice to have the lower receiver on a block like that, but honestly I’ve always found it easier to turn the lower receiver sideways, put your takedown pin and safety selector in place, drop the detents in the hole, then the springs in the holes, and slide the grip on. It’s by far the easiest and fastest way I’ve ever done it.

Thanks! Apparently I didn’t realize this when I switched grips, so there is probably a vacuum bag in a landfill somewhere with a spring and tiny cartridge-looking pin in it. Time to order those tidbits…

Went to change my milspec grip to a magpul...done it with my other AR and no problem but this time I noticed the selector switch had fallen out. Almost @#%$ a brick thinking something broke and I need to take it to my gunsmith. Long story short your video helped alot. Ty and god bless 🇺🇸

You note to install the trigger first, which I did, but my selector won't go all the way through because of the (2-stage) trigger I have installed.

I just built an aero ar-10 and when the bolt is locked back, I’m unable to move the safety at all. If I want to switch it the bolt has to be closed then it’s smooth as butter but is completely stiff if the bolt is locked back.

Luckily I didn’t have any serious mishaps with my new AR but this spring fell out when I replaced my grip and I went to shoot my gun and it fired when I switched my safety to fire!!! Caught me off guard and thankfully I was aiming in a safe direction!!

1. Which end of the detent faces inward toward the gun? 2. What do you mean, "you might have to move the safety around?"

Your detent should have identical ends, but if for some reason it doesn't the pointy side goes away from the spring I think he just means you may have to wiggle the safety to get the detent to seat itself. Jostle would be a better word

Can you recommend a safety selector that is more quiet for my M&P 15? I've found that the stock selector switch is too loud for hunting situations at close ranges. It cause me to leave the safety off in my close range spots

Chris Neal I can’t speak on a quieter one, but you can take it apart and smooth out the tip of the detent so it has a smoother lockup when the selector is moved. That might work.

After I install my trigger in my AR lower. I can no longer put my safety through the hole in receiver. Trigger sear is parasitically blocking hole. Tried it with and without hammer cocked. Any suggestions?

You show the detent. You show that it isn't just a steel dowel, it has features exclusive to each end. Then, you fail to say which end goes in first. Why did you bother to make the video?

He is installing a milspec which is only for left side use. If you want to have a selector on the right side you can get an ambidextrous, highly recommended.
