This is one of your talents, to gauge your horse and understand. Then making the best decisions for that horse and yourself which you did in this case. I am anxious to see how things turn out, I'm sure a lesson learned for Farouk. I was shocked to hear, then see that combine (!) right where you all were riding out. I can imagine what the racehorses we rode would be doing...

You are so right, everything is trespassing here. Couldn't even walk my beagle through a wooded trail without getting into trouble. Another problem is the building of housing units near a stable and then they complain about the smell. What did they expect?

Too bad about Farouk being too hot today. Was he the one snorting at the beginning of the video? I expect all those noisy smelly cattle didn't help things. A combine as well. It seems it was all a bit much for a young horse.

I'm impressed with how you handled him. You seemed calm which calmed him somewhat. After those noisy cows, I couldn't figure out what that loud sound was and then I saw all that equipment. I don't think the people planning the ride thought things through very well. They shouldn't have had the equipment out there during the ride. Someone could have been hurt, as well as horses. With different levels of horses and riders, there was no way they could guarantee it would be a safe ride for all participants. There was too much stimulation for poor Farouk. I didn't realize it was only his third outing. Was making me nervous! I was thrown in Jan 2008 and am disabled. I walk with a cane and take several morphines, methadones, tramadols, and naproxens every day. So glad you turned back and you both were safe! No sense fighting him the entire ride. Makes for a long and tiring day.

Hi yeah first noisy excited cows and then the combine harvester and the others clearly in a hurry to get away from the harvester got him wound up poor farouk too much stimulation , i think he had is teenager head on that day so the noise didn't help him, I was wincing when you were walking on the stubble it is sharp it must have been pricking his sole and the other horses although they probably have been on stubble fields many times to not bother them. It would have been better if they got that field finished the day before. He still did well as he didn't panic and rear to the noise of the combine and you got quite close to the big yellow scary box on wheels.💜

Good for you opting out of an UN pleasurable ride. You have found a balance between training and pleasure. As a kid I was never given the opt out option on group rides. The hunt master “control your horse.’’ ‘Move to the rear.’’ ‘Turn him out.’’ Sigh, I wish I had spoken about this but never mentioned it at home. I decided to change out of group riding and do eventing; never learned to ride comfortably in a big group. Note I said I didn’t learn, not my horses, if my bro rode my horse, he came home happy to have done so; it was my anxiety of something I was communicating to my horse,

Tara, question please. Farouk was just so agitated today pretty much right out of the box which is so not like him. Even though he is gelded, if a mare was in heat, would he still react to the pheromones? I couldn't help but notice another horse was all wound up too which is why I am asking this. The noise and yellow combine didn't help much either. The only other thing I can think about that would get him like this was his memory of all those stone paths on his feet. He just didn't want to go through that again. You made the right choice in turning him around with him being this antsy, always safety first. Remember to ground him on the next ride you go on and take Apollo, that seemed to work quite well the last time. I am concerned for you both and hope it's something simple we can fix. Like a problem with the tack slipping maybe that didn't feel right for him or the mares in heat?

Gemini Dream that’s what I was thinking too Gemini I know in dogs they still have the urges to mate even though they can’t do anything dogs can even lock which I did not realise so I presume all animals do the same and they was a lot of horses I had not seen before x

@@muckingfentalkaren5592 Exactly why I thought this about Farouk because he's never been this antsy before since I've been watching him. Cats do the same thing as well by the way. This would explain a lot for you to know too if he ever gets this agitated again. If you don't you could ask your vet. For a young Arabian like him he showed really good restraint just to stay behind some of The other horses. He could run circles them and still be ready to go. Maybe you should have some one get him warmed up a bit Just to burn some energy so he can be calm. He is very beautiful and he knows it. That is why he is dancing around. You are driving a sports car on a road full of old pickup trucks Enjoy him. I, ll enjoy watching more of your videos. Thanks Palmer Roskamp

There is no closed captioning so I didn’t hear why you covered his ears. Please explain?

Pace much to slow for Farouk 😐 All of the big farm equipment definitely not to his liking 😒Understand why he needed to go home🤔

The Combines didn't help much did they? You were so right to take him back. I've had that feeling riding out and would actually get off and walk as there is no sense in getting hurt. He's so young yet. :)
