And I understand your struggle trying to translate those in English. I feel the same when I try to translate my people's expression in English! So im an a amature writer but i created this race for one of my stories and decided at some point i needed them to have a unique language that differs from the common tongue. I ended up settling on arabic cause both cause they're a desert race and i thought it'd be fun to write them with an accent u dont usually find in novels. 1:37 That's my favourite one. In English we use "foot" as in "My back foot" if you don't believe someone when they tell you something unbelievable. Or if you have gotten yourself or have said something awkward. "I really put my foot in it" (Like stepping in dog sh!t)

In iraq we say "the world is upside down" "انگلبت الدنيا" When something horrible happiness and sometimes used sarcastically and when you say "i will turn the world upside down" "راح اگلب الدنيا"When you're excited to do something

Another expression we have is min 3iyooni al itnayn من عيوني الاتنين and it's similar to 3arasi (on my head). It literally means 'from my two eyes', but figuratively, it means 'of course' but in a more devoted way, I guess. Like, when someone requests something, you go 'min 3yooni al itnayn' and it's both reassuring that their request isn't too much and at the same time you're saying that you'd do that thing for them without a second thought. We also have another variation of 3arasi, but instead it's 3ala 3aynee w rasi على عيني وراصي. Literally, it's 'on my eye and he'. Figuratively it's the same as the previous two I've mentioned.
