Also... Cow: baqara Chicken: dajaja Rooster: deek duck: baTTa fly: dhubaba bee: naHla ant: namla whale: Hoot fish: samak (pl.) camel: jamal Crab: SaraTaan snail: bazzaaqa/ Halazuna (another word for cat is bisayne, used in Lebanon. Maybe in other places too)

Abu brays is a gecko! I was confused by jay-ko. Hard G like in Go or Garden. Gecko. ghe-cco sort of in Italian.

It's learning with fun..!! Maha is an ideal teacher, she teaches in very neat and clean accent so that every one listening to her clearly understands.

Abu bres is a gecko. Maha, even though abu bres look crazy... they are so good for your garden! they eat all the bugs that destroy our plants :)

Maha! In English, a female lion is called "lioness." Also, if your curious... female tiger= tigress female sheep=Ewe (pronounced you) female goat= Nanny male goat= Ram

I'm surprised many names of animals in Arabic are almost the same as in Spanish. I'm a Spanish, English and Hebrew speaker :)

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum Lioness is correct. Lion generally works for both genders in English though, but if you want to be specific you can say Lioness. thanks for the lesson, you guys are pretty cool!

@Phraates90 ya , It's actually an old Arabic song " The Bird looks from the window " " Asfor tall men Al-Shobak " and window in Arabic is Shobak ^^ hope this help u =D

You never told us how to say the most prominent animal in the video: centipede. Also, I'll give one to you. My name is Ahuitzotl, which means the mythical animal which lives in Lake Texcoco, next to Mexico City (see my icon for a picture). In Arabic, ahuitzotl isاهويتزوتل

Just after 2min, you mention that a lion is an Asad. We must also learn the names for the different breeds of lions. A lion that bashes people down is called a Bashir Assad. There is also a lion that wears a Fez (Turkish hat). That lion is called Hafez Assad. There, I like to be helpful!

The 'most common bird' you're calling عصفور at 2:53 may be the sparrow. I've seen them from Asia to Europe, and they may exist on other continents for all I can guess. If it's not that, then is it the crow?
