Thank you! This is all the information I've been looking for all in one place! All I need to know is 1) How warm it is, and 2) Suggested activity. I am convinced Arc'teryx makes the naming scheme and product-information-layout deliberately complicated and unintuitive.

Nice video! How would you rate Nuclei SV? Some reviews suggest that it’s about as warm as Dually.

Thanks for watching! Check out my video for 2021/2022 season, where the Nuclei SV comes in at 4.35 CLO which is warmer than the Dually. Cheers! kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnvXamuNp6yBqac

Nice comparisons. Thx! Personally I use the Atom AR + the Kappa when it’s very could outside. I think it’s one of the best match for cold days.
@weekendgearguide3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Your Atom AR + Kappa Hoody would be a perfect combination for very cold winter conditions, combining the warmest synthetic midlayer with an extremely weather resistant insulated outer layer. Thanks for the great comment. Cheers!

Excellent video! Congratulations! One question: is the old Atom LT (Coreloft) jacket warmer than the new Atom LT (Coreloft Compact) jacket? As a jacket, not the insulation itself. Thank you!
@weekendgearguide4 жыл бұрын
Thanks you! Regarding your question, if you were to remove the insulation from both the old and new Atom LT jackets, and left with just the shell and liner, the old Atom LT would be a bit warmer due to the less breathable liner, allowing to retain a bit more body warmth. Shell is essentially the same. However, the liner differences would be insignificant in comparison to the difference in warmth when factoring in the insulation.

Really great and informative video. I only found out the coreloft continuous is suspected to be the same as climashield apex recently. Your video kinda confirmed that. By the way, I am thinking about getting a nuclei fl to replace my cerium whenever I need to wear helmet. Want to get it in the paradigm color way. Is that the same color shown in the video? Again really really informative video 👍

Thank you. Glad you found it informative! Yes, the Nuclei FL in the video is the paradigm color. Thanks for watching!

Hi,Great video! . We cant buy Arcteryx products in my country(Turkey). Because of the price, exchange rate and taxes(no one is selling anyway, even amazon doesn't bring it). But I want to buy when go to Europe or Usa. For windy -10C weather. Which one would you recommend Only Kappa or Atom lt + Beta Ar or Atom Ar + Beta Ar. I have MH ghost whisperer not best down jacket but it works for me. Im looking for synthetic. Thanks in advance for the answer Edit: I wanna use for hiking, skiing and for town too
@weekendgearguide3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! For windy -10C, the Atom AR + Beta AR would be the the best of the 3, since it's good warmth and wind protection for that weather, and in less windy conditions, you can use the Atom AR. Atom LT won't be warm enough unless you have thick fleece layer underneath, and Kappa Hoody would be warm with good wind protection but not as versatile as a 2 layer system. However, you may want to consider pairing the Atom AR with the Beta LT instead as the collar and drop hood of the Beta AR does not work as well with midlayer hoods, as a storm hood jacket like the Beta LT, but it's a matter or preference. Hope this helps!

Do you think the Macai is a warmer jacket than the Fisson SV?
@weekendgearguide3 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for watching. Yes, the Macai jacket will be warmer than the Fission SV (except in the armpit area due to the pit zipper), since the Macai uses a thin layer of Coreloft Compact Insulation + 750 FP of down insulation.

Do you know if the radsten insulated jacket is the same as the radsten parka ?
@weekendgearguide3 жыл бұрын
Hello. Yes, both the Radsten Insulated Jacket and the Radsten Parka use the same Coreloft Compact 120 Insulation. Main difference between the 2 is the parka is longer.
@nicolasd99013 жыл бұрын
@@weekendgearguide Thank you so much, by any chance could you help me choose: I have to go to the north of poland and it's -15 ° c there at the moment, do you think the radsten would be enough? I liked the koda too, but it is less effective against rain and the kappa is not available. And I just saw that the Atom AR is hotter than the Radsten so I'm a little lost
@weekendgearguide3 жыл бұрын
@@nicolasd9901 You're welcome! For -15C, the Radsten would not be warm enough unless you wear a down jacket like the Cerium LT underneath. The Koda is a better jacket, but you would still need to layer with a good fleece underneath for -15C. Regarding protection against rain, the Koda's Gore Thermium is essentially waterproof and you most likely will not be using the Koda in raining conditions since it's a winter jacket meant to be used in 0C and below, but regardless it still is very good against rain. Hope this helps!

Hey man, I'm having a hard time picking a new jacket, trying to decide between the Alpha IS, Fission SV, Ceres SV. This is going to be my main jacket something that will keep me warm while being able to move around ( don't want anything too bulky). please let me know what you would recommend. Thank You
@weekendgearguide3 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for watching. The recommendation really depends on the temperature range and type of activities you would be using your jacket for. The Ceres SV would be the warmest and also the bulkiest of the three while the Alpha IS would be the least warmest but also the trimmest and lightest of the three. The Fission SV would probably be the best all round jacket of the three for winter conditions and activities.

@@weekendgearguide hi I know this video is a bit on the older side but if you could recommend a shell jacket or something of the sort, I am going to be in like 10-30F degree weather and would like to be dressed appropriately, I currently have the Atom LT hoody and that works great for some colder days but I don’t want to be cold in weather like that. Also I will be doing activities a lot so I would prefer a slim(ish) fit or something not bulky is there anything you recommend? Or multiple pieces of clothing you recommend?
@weekendgearguide3 жыл бұрын
@@maxregni9229 Hey thanks for watching! For that temperature range, especially around 10F, the most slim(ish) jacket that will keep you warm is the new Nuclei SV jacket. Not as bulky as a down jacket and can fit over your Atom LT hoody if need be. It's also reasonably priced and may go cheaper on Black Friday. Cheers!

The Proton LT is definitely not warmer than the Atom LT so not sure about this list. I own both the old and revised atom LT.
