Last week I ordered a Sanwa stick for my Neo Geo ASP. It should arrive today or tomorrow, I'm curious if it makes a big difference to the original stick. Maybe I will change the buttons as well, but I have to decide what's better, Sanwa or Seimitsu?
@TeamPandory11 ай бұрын
There's more of a difference in sanwa Vs semitsu when it comes to the stick. But I'd say go with semitsu buttons. Regarding the feel, they're similar, but Ive had wayyy more sanwa buttons break than seimitsu
@greensun133411 ай бұрын
@@TeamPandory ok, thanks for answering. Then I choose the Seimitsu buttons, they seem to be more robust. And what's the main difference between the sticks of those brands? Or let's say, who makes the better sticks?
@TeamPandory11 ай бұрын
@@greensun1334 both are great. The 80s 90s era was full of seimitsu / sanwa hybrid arcade machines in Japan. Eventually the main machines mostly adopted Sanwa .. if youve played a Tekken game, sanwa sticks. Seimitsu have a huge range of different feeling sticks. Shootemup fans prefer these as they're seen as being more precise.

@team pandory hey bro, about the grease used, do you prefer tamiya cera-grease or shin etsu? and how long does it take to lubricate again using tamyia cera-grease?
@TeamPandory2 жыл бұрын
Not really bothered with "Shin Etsu" - the Cera Grease seems to work well enough and that tube is going to last a life-time.

Hey there! Thanks for your tutorial. Would you know if the same procedure is applicable to a Seimitsu LS-40-01? It looks similar to the one you used in the video, and I bought one which was supposedly new from an arcade shop but it was dirty.

Hi, I bought a Hori Fight Stick Alpha and only hope for about a week and now the joysticks squeaks, especially when I press up. Why would it be squeaking when it's pretty much new? Everything feels perfectly fine but it's annoying. Do you have any ideas as to why and why I can do? I was thinking it might just need oil but is it normal for it to squeak so soon after purchasing it?
@TeamPandory4 ай бұрын
@@LFiers if it's under warranty, I'd just send it back asap for a replacement.

@@TeamPandoryOh really? So it's not normal for an arcade stick to be squeaky then?

@@LFiers Depends on the type of "squeak", I guess. Maybe check other reviews and compare?
@LFiers4 ай бұрын
@@TeamPandory Well, the swuesk happens when I push down and when I push right. Not sure what would cause it. I was thinking that some WD40 silicon spray might help but I'm not sure as I'm new to arcade sticks. Do they need lubrication and if so, how often and what type of oil? I didn't see anything in the manual about that. Thanks
@TeamPandory4 ай бұрын
@@LFiers You shouldn't need any lubrication at all if you got it new. Ask for a replacement before you do anything to it! - Joystick controllers should be fine for a good few years when they're new. BTW WD40 is NOT lubrication, it removes water / rust, and doesn't actually lubricate anything. Good for a short time, but then it'll dry it out. What you're wanting to get for joystick lubrication is silicone grease, then maybe after a few games, add one drop of 3-in-1 oil. After that you should be good for 3-5 years depending on use.

Any advice for a stick that is now really loose? I've had a look at it (sanwa style) but I'm guessing just buy a new one. Does get played a fair bit. Microswitches seem fine but its so loose compared to the two player side. Any thoughts would be great 🙂

Sanwa style as in a cheap rip-off? If that's the case, just replace with an authentic one. It's more trouble than it's worth.
