I'm familiar with Chiller from some other videos I've seen, but I've never played it. It's something lol. The NES version doesn't quite measure up to the arcade in graphical detail or sound, but it's also close enough to easily recognizable and probably not the worst arcade-to-home port for the system. I probably won't ever play this game, but it is fairly topical considering you've lined it up to appear at Halloween. Good job on that, Bill.

I've heard about this game for years and finally had an excuse to play it. It's not great but it's very unique. Haha thanks! I noticed this and Ghouls N Ghosts were close to Halloween so that pushed me to get those Jaguar videos done a little while ago in order to push these to Halloween.

I'd go with both a tie. The NES one is an impressive feat. Happy Halloween Bill!

Happy Halloween my friend! While I'd probably take the arcade over the NES slightly, grading on a curve the NES easily wins as it's pretty impressive graphically.

So, no matter what I do, KZbin won't let me post my full thoughts of how this game compares to my 4th grade sketchbook and games on the Apple II. But the comparison didn't flatter Chiller.

Lol! Got to love it when they ban certain things but let other more blatant stuff get through.

This was before mortal kombat.

If this was as popular as MK I bet this would have caused a huge outrage.

On NES? Hahaha! Nice!

Unlicensed but still it's cool it got a release on the console.

Lol I remember this game😅i forgot it was on NES and they say Nintendo never had M rated games(besides MK of course way back) lol like MK and Doom, this game caused a bit of controversy not as big as the other 2 but i remember haha. Nice comparison. NES version didnt seem bad considering. Happy Halloween!🎃

Thanks buddy! I'm reading this a day late but I hope you had a great Halloween! Haha this game is so brutal for its time. I can only imagine the reaction of people in congress like Lieberman if he saw people's heads being crushed.
@MKF30Ай бұрын
@RetroComparisons Oh yeah haha I mean he got really triggered by sub-zeros head rip and doom 😅 somehow this game slipped by him. Probably because this game wasn't nearly as big as MK and Doom.

Wow not sure what I just watched lol. I've never heard of this game but geez the Arcade game was brutal. Shooting people in chains lol. Wow. But oh man the NES game looks like a train wreck
@RetroComparisonsАй бұрын
Lmao! I wish my local arcade had this game back in the day. There probably would have been a huge line for it every day.

This would have been great with the gun! I say this would be tough as nails emulated lol. Winner: Not emulation Other winner: Any kid who bragged about owning this! 3rd place: NES knowing it made it to a home console!!! Again very cool to hear about such games! It took a minuteto figure out if you were supposed to dismember or not.. lol!
@RetroComparisonsАй бұрын
Trying to do this without the gun on MAME was as brutal as getting eaten by an alligator like the characters in this game. Even being unlicensed it's crazy that this game was made at all, never mind being on the NES. I'm sure this must have driven the Satanic Panic people crazy.

Possibly the most edgelord game ever made.

Geez, this is grisly! How in the world did this make it past Nintendo's censorship back in the day? ... Or maybe it didn't, and it's an unlicensed title? Will have to look this one up. In any case, the arcade game is no beauty, but the NES looks considerably worse. The Atari 7800 could have managed this port easily, or maybe even the 5200 in the hands of a talented programmer. Then again, how many other NES games let you blast chained innocents to pieces (besides this and Kirby's Adventure)? ;) Happy Halloween, dude!

Happy late Halloween my friend! I hope you had a great night. So this is an unlicensed NES game which is pretty funny because when I think of unlicensed NES games I think of the bible games. What this lacks in visuals it more than makes up for in the sheer brutality in a pre-Mortal Kombat era.
