I agree, I don't like starwars movie, but it is the best cabinet they have ever made. I hope it motivated them to make paperboy for that reason.

The Big Hang up with paperboy is , People always said " you can only have one game on that cabinet " I say , "SO WHAT" I like paperboy and would enjoy having it in its proper cabinet with the correct controls. A real one costs $5000 . So Id gladly pay $700 for a A1U cab. T2 only has one game so hopefully they will see this and give us a Paperboy Cabinet once and for all.

@@yeksun I think mortocycle games like super hang on would work well with handle bars. But i wouldn't mind paying $500 for paperboy alone.

On the Burgertime cabinet they had a missed opportunity by not putting the sequel "Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory" which was another vertical game

Great selection of games. I just got the Defender multi-game cabinet. Just my 1st, but I have my eye on the new centipede coming out too.

Thats great. I like that cab because it has tapper on it. The new centipede would be a good choice. lots of fun games on there. Be careful these machines have a way of multiplying. My basement is full now. LOL

The golden tee machine also has the T molding around the control deck. It was probably the first machine to feature that but, anyway awesome video!

yeksun, Pretty great history rundown of 3/4 scale Arcade1up. The only notable cabinets missing from your list are the Big Blue Street Fighter machine (the first Wifi Capcom cabinet where you can play all of the games online with others like the NBA Jam one) the Namco Legacy (essentially the new Pac-Man machine, but now with 12 games) and the Defender variant of the Midway Classic cabinet (with all 12 games that were included on the Mortal Kombat variant). You mentioned something very important about Arcade1up and that's buyers remorse. I got hit with it once with the Marvel Super Heroes cab and I swore I would wait and not buy any of the 1 to 4 game cabs (or first iterations). I'm glad I waited, because the new "Legacy" cabs have enough games to justify the value to me (that's the reason I bought the original Atari 12 in 1, sans the first Asteroids or Centipede machines). Now, I don't mind 1 to 4 games on a cab when the cab has a specific control scheme that only supports a few games, like the Star Wars cab (which I bought day one), but Arcade1up has been trickle feeding games and I had to speak with my wallet and wait until they brought value that worked for me. I was really hoping Arcade1Up would release Robotron 2084, Defender, Stargate, Joust, Sinistar, Smash TV, Bubbles, and Root Beer Tapper for this holiday season. I would have paid a premium for all of those in one cabinet.

With the chip shortages and shipping container international situation I feel these new cabinets like the T2, Killer Instinct, and Tron are going to have to be around the 600-700 price mark. Even with the smaller amount of games you get in these cabinets they are focused on making the main game stand out... its a tough choice which to buy since Christmas is around the corner but hey it’s a free market and people gonna buy with their wallet

I agree with being selective. Like many others i would like to own them all in reality haha. Being a late 80's arcade dweller the idea of these 3/4 home cabs are incredible and long over do. Million dollar idea. The execution isn't always there though. There is no competition. A1Up are really the only company doing this. iiArcade and atgames are strictly multicads. Not entirely the same thing. I don't feel one impacts the other ..well not dramatically anyway. The cookie cutter design was / is fine..but now at this point IMO A1Up should try and go with replica / authentic cabs and controls mostly if possible. That is what sets them apart. I own three 3/4 cabs from them and was extremely selective about it. I loved back in gen one when i seen they were dropping a dedicated trackball cab CENTIPEDE! Was a day one must have for me. That one i pre ordered. No better way to play those games unless you own a real OG cab imo. All these other cabs they have release are cool n i like watching you guys make vids on them but at this point..only something like a Donkey Kong 3/4 release will have me fuelling again to make a purchase. These prices now makes it even that much easier to not buy them for someone like me who has lost the omg! I need that! kinda feeling. That leaked NEW Centipede cab does look fine. If it doesn't indeed have a vertical monitor it's a no go for me though. Good video. That was a lot of moving cabs around...good workout lol

Thanks for the nice long comment. I like to hear what others have experienced . Thats cool that you were just as excited about centipede as I was. I love that game. Your not kidding about moving all those cabinets. I had a pretty good sweat going by the end of it.

there were plenty of 3rd party star wars yokes out there, in fact the company they went to, was making them at the time alan-1. =========== the new upcoming centipede looks way better than any of the previous ones. i might have to get that one. later -1

It is tempting ,BUT it would have to have the vertical monitor. Playing Centipede on the horizontal monitor ,like on the tempest machine STINKS. Everything Is smaller and squashed down on a horizontal monitor .

The video was great. I have a question, I bought the Rampage cabinet 1st gen used and I wasn’t happy with the game Defender, I bought the cabinet for Defender game mainly, but the controls are awkward. I saw on TSC that they sell a Defender cabinet with all the buttons beside the joystick, which make a lot easier to play the game. What are your thoughts? Should I sell my Rampage cabinet to get the Defender one that has 10 games? Thanks a lot

Well I think the one you talking about is called a partycade. These are a little different because The screen is completely vertical. Meaning it doesnt have any slant to it. Also they attach to a wall or door . they are not free standing. BUT, if you want to play defender , I believe this is the best way to do it . The control panel is just like the arcade. plus you get some other cool games. I dont think you would be sorry .

Actually, concerning the Big Buck machine, everything DID NOT work like it should. It's those guns. They are like Nerf lite grade. All plastic and such is a big Achilles Heel. If one isn't as gentle as egg shells with those things, the camera can take damage and make the whole machine a huge paperweight. It really didn't help that the cameras are on the very end, which amplifies any movements of those long barrels. And once those break...well, I've yet to hear of any community made replacements. What's worse is that those dual holsters that hold the guns...are just holes. There's nothing inside to cushion or secure where the guns go. So...carelessly placing the guns into the machine with that amplified impact potential can destroy the cameras in one quick second. But, trust me that the game is still very fun...right up until the guns take damage. Be it for one hour, one day, one week... Now, if A1U takes these lessons into future gun games, then we may have some truly worthy games on the way. I could easily see a frame secured gun, like used in Terminator 2 or Operation Wolf being a lot more sturdy. Although, those guns may see a lot of abrupt stops during game play as players aim for the edge of the screen.

Thanks for the info on the guns. Are people having problems with them ? I did notice the holsters are just holes . That is pretty lame. I only played this once at a friends house and it seemed ok. So far so good with his guns but I did notice they felt cheap.

You obviously grew up in the same generation of arcades that I did. Absolutely no interest in fighters like mortal Kombat and Street fighter. I'm surprised you don't have a Ms. Pac-Man. Are you getting a Tron and Defender? I currently have a Space Invaders with a custom light up Marquee, Bandai Pac-Man, Ms Pac-Man, Star wars, Pong table, Tempest, Defender and I have a Tron on order. I'm still waiting for Dragons Lair. I'm thinking about getting a Simpsons and Turtles in Time. My biggest complaint with arcade1up at this point is the light up Marquis are pretty washed out compared to the custom one that I put on my Space Invaders which looks amazing. I'm hoping for a multi-williams machine based on Robotron at some point and Qbert. Smash TV would be awesome too.

I wanted to get the Ms. pacman but I thought Costco was going to have a special version so I waited . I wanted it to have ms pacman and Dig Dug like the one from Best Buy. I waited too long . Costco never came out with a ms pacman and Best Buy sold out of their version . So that just leaves the wal mart version which I dont like that games list. SO I was able to find on craigslist a real donkey kong machine and it had a 60in 1 in it. That gave me Ms pacman ,Donkey Kong (which we will probably never get) and Dig Dug. I was pleased with that solution. I do have a Tron on order and I think it has potential to be their best yet. we'll see. The Defender is cool but I wont be getting it . Perhaps if the games list was different than the midway legacy. Robotron and Q bert would be great. They would have to put a knocker in Q bert. That was part of the fun.
