Excellent video! I'd love to see how it performs on corrugated metal.

@@amp_mechanic Might struggle a bit as it's limited by the top speed of the Z axis. But looking forward to seeing it work!

Good point and definitely something to keep in mind.

Whoa. Tell me I don't need to be an electronics expert to operate and troubleshoot the Arcdroid. When will this be to a point a typical welder/fabricator can put it to work?

It's pretty much there now for normal operations. A lot of the problems I've had are just due to being one of the first machines produced. Those issues have mostly all been solved for current machines. As far as the THC, the company reached out to me privately after this video and confirmed what I suspected to be the issue and they already have part of the solution built into the machine and production updates pending. I've also made a request for another software feature that should greatly improve usability. Either way, I've cnc'd my own divided voltage PCB to test and I'm debating whether I'll make them available to the general public in a plug n play box. I'll address all this in my next video.

Just paid a deposit on my Arcdroid. The Australian distributor is expecting the first shipment within a couple of weeks. I have a Hypertherm 45 XP with the machine torch and I ordered the interface cable from Hypertherm last week so it should arrive about the same time as the Arcdroid. $4000 seems pretty reasonable for a CNC my only concern is that I won’t be able to drive the dam thing. I’m 66 years old and computers simultaneously terrify and confuse me. I would Love to be able to have a THC but it appears to be pretty complicated at this point in time. Or is it not that hard and I’m just overthinking it? I was really impressed with Arcdroid when I sent them a email inquiring about the interface cable they replied immediately and thanked me for my purchase. That sort of courtesy goes a long way with me😃👍Good video BTW👍

Congrats David! I'm sure you''' be fine, there is a learning curve with any CNC process but most of the the issues I've covered have been solved in production or with firmware updates. As for THC, there are updates coming. And I will have info coming to simplify the THC setup.
