Thanks very much for making these videos. I’ve just purchased a Arcdroid and I’m finding your videos very helpful👍

Thanks for showing how to fix the loose pulleys on the ArcDroid. Where did you get the nice size welding table? I don't have allot of room for the larger ones. Thanks again. Willy

Princess Auto. They periodically have them for a Hot Buy, it was $170 or 180 CAD all in with a bunch of fixture clamps. Price has gone up since then. If in the US, I think Klutch has one that's the same or similar. Or Vevor. Eastwood has one as well.

Try some Retaining Compound between the motor shaft and the pulley. This really helps the pulley bond to the shaft.

I don't find that to be a good solution. To each their own though. I filed a flat spot on each shaft and snugged them. Haven't moved a bit in 7 months.

Any reason(s) not to take the motor out and mill a flat on the shaft? Thanks.

You could but it's a lot more disassembly. There's not enough clearance to just pull them out. And it's really not necessary. I just loosened the belts and moved the pulley up out of the way, used a small flat file on each shaft. Quick and easy.

You also could remove the set screw and drill a shallow dip in the shaft. It gives the set screw something to set into.

Any arcdroid user here that regrets buying the unit? Problems? Reliabilty? I really like the trace feature and that is the selling point of why i would like to own one. But for hobby welding i would like it to be a really worth it considering its $3500 here in Canada.

The major issues in my videos have been dealt with on the current version of the ArcDroid. At this point there's nothing as an obstacle that's any different from any other CNC. If the stuff you are doing will fits inside the cut area, it's a pretty reasonable option for the price. Especially when you add in the trace capability. I would add it's not a perfect high precision trace but it's appropriate for the price and completely usable for the home fabricator. Most of the problems are coming from people with zero CNC experience. CNC is a steep learning curve if you're new and I don't think most people expect that. Or sometimes they need some motivation or knowledge on troubleshooting to solve their problems.

Which Plasma cutter are you using with your ArcDroid? Thanks.
