Such a hall-filling, deep baritonal growl. The clean vocals make her vulnerable. Better to be a stronger and more brutal woman from another dimension of the universe to induce goosebumps. Sometimes you can add clean or distorted heavy/power metal style vocals. Alice is the best vocalist in the world, her potential has to go somewhere. Like the solo album we are waiting for.

What I love about metal: I'm PISSED off and metal meets me where I'm at emotionally and walks me back from the ledge. It doesn't try to calm me down with serene bullshit. I'm ANGRY at others, with MYSELF and I feel like I can't make things work. Metal knows, metal stands next to me and says F*** them and it's ok to be angry. Metal reminds me that I'm better than I think I am, I can't take the blame for everything, that I'm actually a badass, worthy of respect, success, and love, especially from the biggest Arch Enemy I have: Myself. @@mikeh6286 Music can still be heavy without needing unclean vocals. After all you won't hear primarily unclean vocals in any metal made before the 80s (metalcore, death metal, and black metal didn't exist before the 80s). I'd hate to think how you deal with 60s and 70s metal if you ever got sent back in time with that opinion. I prefer my metal to be primarily made up of clean vocals with some harsh vocals, like what you'd hear in alternative metal, melodic metalcore, groove metal, nu metal, etc. There's such thing as "too much of a good thing", and that's especially true for harsh vocals.
@mikeh6286 Жыл бұрын
@@paivioselanne Sure those tracks can be enjoyed. I'm not a spring chicken myself. I guess I just believe the message/passion in harsh vocals more if I had to choose one. I'm not sure I like the term harsh vocals either. Like, Linkin Park could be classified as harsh, and that's like 1/10 on the scale. 😁 Have you listened to some Lorna Shore?

As a metalhead who also like Arch Enemy, I love this song. The reason behind it is because it makes me think of my past. There had been many times where I was bullied in middle and high school because I have autism. I used to get panic attacks all the time. I had been teased and made fun of because of my learning disability. There were many people who supported me as I was growing up, my friends and family. After graduating from college, I was at the bottom of the barrel. I couldn't get into a geology job because I had no experience. How can you get experience if you are not going to give it to me? Does that make sense? No, it does not! So I worked at a grocery store, Hannaford aka Hell's Kitchen where customers yelled at me and harassed me and annoyed me. The managers hated me, Talia Parkes, Perry Landry, and last but not least, the man who made me cry and his name is Joel Lloyd. He made fun of how I looked and how I acted around people as he was ranting at me throughout the termination process. Yeah, that man who verbally abused me was firing me and he won. I had lost hope because I was jobless. I was able to get a job at Dunkin Donuts and every customer abused me. I then started working at Baker Hill, a golf course that acted as a concentration camp. There was Jamie Savage who scared me on purpose, ranted about tiny things, screaming at me, insulting me, made threats, got into my face, and just wanted me to see me cry. People had made fun of me because I have autism. I got abused by managers because of my mistakes and appearance. Others were gunning for me. A few stabbed me the back and succeeded. They keep pushing me down. However, with the help of my friends, my sister, and my mom and a hint of metal, I get back on my feet and resume punching that bag. I must keep fighting until I get on top of my oppressors, prove to them I can do just about anything. I work as a teacher's assistant, working in a classroom. That was a wonderful escape. The kids enjoyed my presence and their skills improved because of me. During of times, I teach Geology as an enrichment for a few groups of students. I was finally given the opportunity to use my Geology skills for the first time since graduating from college. It was a miracle! I passed on my knowledge to young students and this encourages them to enjoy learning in school. I became the Champion for Children this year. I am a fighter. I am a teacher. I am a helper. I am close to being a master. There are still people out there who would knock me down. I am ready because I am going to keep on fighting no matter what. That is what I think when I hear this song.

Lyrics: There's a scar on your heart But your journey's just begun A distant light that's worth the fight The story's far from done Stop hurting yourself Those tired sores have nothing more to bleed Self hatred I know it well it's dragging you down Listen to me now There's a reason to believe again There's a reason to go on Always keep on fighting my friend There's a reason to believe They don't understand you And they hate what they don't understand You are more than they'll ever know Like sand through your fingers Don't let your life slip away This prison of glass can't hold you back no more! Self hatred I know it well it's dragging you down Listen to me now There's a reason to believe again There's a reason to go on Always keep on fighting my friend There's a reason to believe There's a reason to believe again There's a reason to go on Always keep on fighting my friend There's a reason to believe There's a reason to believe again There's a reason to go on Listen to me... Always keep on fighting my friend

I'm 34 and starting to realize I need to find balance in my life as opposed to manic spirals and reacting to bullshit. Found out about Tai Chi and Judo and while doing so, with my YT mix, this came on and this harmonious balance of clean and screams was what I needed. Thank you, Alissa. One of my favorite songs off of Will To Power.

Great songs as this one with a powerful message are meant to reach everyone. Especially to those struggling with depression, feelings of being a failure or unwanted and loved. Nothing in life is worth taking the easy way out! We all have our good and bad days, ups and downs, etc...We only have this one life, live it to the fullest, become a warrior. Be strong, and conquer your fears and obstacles! Live for your dreams. 😎🤘

I used to hate myself , this particular song saved me in a time of distress. Hard to explain how much I feel about this song , the lyrics and everything. I'm free from the self-hate as of now , learned to like who I'm and I will always keep on fighting. Thank you Arch Enemy for making such inspiring song

This is not like TA just because it have cleans.. They don't have same sound.. TA are faster than this.. This is a great ballad and open your brain and listen something more than death black metal.. I love all these genres and I listen almost everything. I don't see why to be upset about this song. But ok finally I understand you because long time fans want old stuffs. So I don't know what to say in the end..

There's a great line I once heard: "Fans are clingy, complaining dipshits who will never, ever be grateful for any concession you make. The moment you shut out their shrill, tremulous voices, the happier you'll be for it." Music is art, it's subjective. Artists need to grow and try new things to maintain their passion for what they do.

It's like nothing I've heard from AE before: The amazing clean vocals, the absolutely stunning guitar work, especially in the chorus and the solo, and the brilliant beat the keeps it all flowing really makes this song soar. Absolutely something else. Congratulations for making this song, It's a fucking masterpiece.
