It's been a while since I've picked up a guitar but there are a few YT channels like Ola's & Rabea's that pique my interest intensely. Plague Scythe Studios is among those few but I always seem to grasp more info after a PSS vid. Thanks brother, for helping inspire me to pick up a guitar again!

The problem with the Neural stuff is that every new plug-in they make is better than previous: so you don't really know if you should buy or pass and wait :)

Excellent demo at the beginning. I think Neural needs to take the next step and start offering plugins that are much deeper. The main feature that solidified Fractal's viability to me is the ability to essentially mod the amp on the fly with all of the various deep features. Neural would be well served to partner with a great amp designer to design a great but somewhat generic amp that they could then offer the players with many features to tweak and shape. Basically the custom digital amp.

I have Archetype: Abasi and I play hardcore, metalcore, and melodeath. I got it instead the nameless suite and NTS suite because I wanted a little bit different tone to apply to what I do. It’s actually worked really well. The amps provided in the plug in package are a little more clear and the phrasing is really nice with them. I love hardcore but I wanted to clean it up a little bit. It’s been fantastic, especially with this being my first foray into all digital recording.

I’ve been checking out Nolly and Abasi the past week. IMO, for cleans and buttery leads I think Abasi wins hands down. But the Nolly rhythm amp just has this compressed thick saturation that just sounds amazing ! I honestly wish neural would think about a hybrid suite that allows you to create your own custom archetype from the options in all the previous releases. They’re all similar but each one has its stand out features. Great Review ! 👍

As sais in the video, this one seems to reach for really specific tones. Archetype : Nolly is probably a better choice if you want to have a versatility from thrash to djent ... 14 days trial is still your friend !

The Fortin Nts is actually almost an Archetype : Ola ... even if it miss delay for leads and chorus and reverb for cleans, wich is sad. Adam Jones or Devin Towsend would be interesting though.

Yeah, I feel like we’re more than good now when it comes to this Modern Prog Metal stuff. I hope Neural’s next release is something different, maybe something more doomy. Orange style stuff, rat pedals, fuzz, you know. I’m personally kind of tired of the whole Djent thing to begin with. It’s hugely impressive, but musically doesn’t really do much for me. Except Meshuggah. Meshuggah kicks ass.

Hey guys. I'm trying this plugin now and I got very harsh noise tails after I mute notes. Now, this isn't happening when I mute the amp section, but that's not the solution. In other ampsims that's not happening too, built-in noise gate can't solve this, it appears with a delay or just cuts the note I need, so I get no sustain. Someone with same problem? What about another archetypes and suites, someone got same trouble in them? And if anyone know solution?

that 8 string :O which model? Not Agile, that first guitar with floyd :D
I kinda disagree with you. Yes, if you already have Plini and/or Nolly, this is a bit more of the same, but this plugin is super versatile and, eventhough it's obviously geared toward modern metal, you can get a lot of different tones that will fit most styles. I can understand some reviewer fatigue, but as a user that has no other Neural DSP products, I will say this plugin is fantastic, the best I've ever used and I can't recommend it enough.

Abasi's playing and tone are great but ide rather just listen to him play around in an instagram clip than listen to one of his full songs. I can't get into his actual songs though. They all feel like shred exercises or just not very strong melodies. Just my opinion so no one bite my head off. lol. I wish they'd add the eq and some delay and reverb pedals to the Fortin stuff. fuzz pedal would be nice to, specifically the fortin fuzz.

all of my friends: "bro the abasi plugin! the clean channel!" me, who hasn't turned off a tubescreamer in 9 years: shrugs it makes cool sounds. cool sounds that i'd never use. drive sounds are kinda indistinct. which mirrors the AAL tones. this was a genius marketing move. every bedroom fanboy without their own musical identity is going to help fund the next NDSP plugin, which hopefully will be something that i will use. bums me out to hear folks say the nolly is a NOLLY plugin, considering he's most notably known for bass. his amps in my studio? hell yeah. Plini or Tosin's tones? seems like a cute fan worship plugin. then again... there's an entire pantera suite. so this isn't new. solid analysis as always.

Objectively speaking, this is the least useful plugin suite they've released so far, especially being as most of the people who'd want this one can probable get very similar sounds with Nolly or Plini. It's the most specialized plugins thus far and it has competition. I too couldn't get a good sound using a Lundgren M8 equipped guitar.

All these modern rock/metal/djent suites start to get ridiculously boring. Tubescreamer style pedal? Check. V30 IRs? Check. Named after a famous. odern metal player or producer? Check. Suited for cleans and chugs (God, I hate that term)? Check. In a couple of years metal players will be coming back to a good scooped sound and power chord rifiing.
