Tips to help you get that more effortless playing, 1. Obviously practice, alot, but also 2. Lower your action. If you look at his guitar, his strings are extremely close to the fretboard. This with make things like hammer ons from nowhere easy to achieve and sweep picking won't be like walking through mud with 100 pounds of gear on.

It's a long reverbed bass drum with all highs taken out after like 150 hz or so. At least, I think it is. I use a similar technique to start heavy riffs. It just gives it punch. This sort of thing was really popular in the early 2000s metal core scene, except they would do it with shotgun blast/hammer on wood recordings. Just a good way to full up the mix.

Also, listen to the cymbal strikes at about 3 minutes in your right earphone. They are making them lack reverb and cutting out the washing effect to give it the effect of extreme accuracy with no sonic runoff into empty space. Another great mixing technique.
