Great video, thank you for posting. I have a request. This video is for egress from a space or room. Can you post a video detailing egress from floors or stories? And how they interact with egress from room or spaces? Rooms/spaces - 100 ft to exit & 75 ft for floors/stories. IBC 1006.3

Explanations of IBC fire separation, dealing with multiple occupancy buildings, or when is fire protection/detection is required?
@archicorner6 жыл бұрын
M apologies for the late reply. There is a poll in the channel and posted this as one of the options for this month's video. If it gets selected, I will create a video for it this month. Nevertheless as a starting point, check out IBC Chapter 5, Table 508.4. The table lets you know if two different occupancies require fire separations and if so, what hourly rating is needed. Hopefully this will shed a little light into your question. Have a great day.

This great info-does it matter if the building is sprinkled or not for exit quantities?
@ianwells54142 жыл бұрын
Great video, but would also like to add that travel distance and common path of travel will also affect the number of exits required. Your videos have been a lot of help studying for the AREs!

Thats funny because someone asked a similar question and it’s one of the questions I answered in the newest Q&A video.

Can you please do a video on NFPA 101 when Sprinklers are required (triggered) for buildings.

Hi, I have great confusion to calculate occupant load but after watching your video, everything is clear like air. But I am unable to find your ten video because it is started from 11 number.
@rodolfocalderon82409 күн бұрын
Small critique, you should probably explain the distance required between both exit doors when two doors are required. But otherwise thanks for the video.

What if that office suite has one door to the exterior and one door to a hallway that has a bunch more offices opening into it? How many occupants should be transferred from the suite to the hallway?
@doctyler53823 жыл бұрын
How about if it's a historic club? 250 people in the Main Hall, with 1937 doors/frame and hardware? The pairs of doors are 2'-6" wide each for a 5 foot opening. Do exit doors need to be 3 ft wide each for a 6 ft opening? 🤔
@archicorner3 жыл бұрын
That seems like a very specific project question. It may be best to contact an architect in your area that can help you navigate through the local jurisdictions. There is no “one answer fits all” for this. Every building is different.
@doctyler53823 жыл бұрын
@@archicorner Exactly, It is very specific and I came to the same conclusion, they need an architect. This is to much liability for me, I know some fire code & Door Hardware requirements but not enough. Thanks, Doc (Locksmith)

I think your explanation is not 100% true. What if a space has less then 49 (assuming group B) but to reach certain exit you need to travel more than 100ft (more than common path of travel)?
@archicorner4 жыл бұрын
That is a good point yogaf08. In addition to occupant load, the number of exits may be affected by travel distance, based on IBC Table 1006.2.1. Good catch.
