amazing videos loaded with lot of good ideas. Thank you and appreciate for sharing the videos with us. question: what type of wood materials that you were considering here for this project?

kind words...many thanks! For the exterior we were considering western red cedar (b&b siding) or eastern white cedar shingles with a bleaching oil/weathering stain. For the interior, I was proposing a hard maple with a water-based poly finish... Cheers...

Another great video. Regarding the material samples, do you just collect them as individual samples from particular stores such as kitchen, tiling, flooring store samples or is it possible to buy product sample kits for designers or Architects from the manufacturers? The latter being preferable and perhaps something the manufacturers would perhaps encourage given if those particular samples are chosen then it sells their product for them.

I usually contact a manuf. rather than request the sample from a showroom as they will usually have limited sample stock. But, it depends on the store and what you have access to locally. Most manufacturers offer samples free of charge. For larger/heavier sample kits some will charge shipping (stone samples for example). But - as you mentioned - the goal for these companies is to get the product in your hands so you can specify it on your project and most make the process quick and easy. Hope that helps...
