I was just released from the hospital after struggling for 22 days from a stage 5 liver laceration (20% survival rate) I spent the whole time just being grateful to have survived. I was so happy to get released but I still have a long road ahead. This release has really helped lift my spirit, I wasn't able to listen to any music in the hospital so this is truly a gift on the day of my release.

Sam wrote a huge essay about Deftones and White Pony being a huge influence on him, giving him the confidence to not be afraid of branching out into different sounds even though it may alienate fans.
