By Jove, Lichfield Cathedral, which happens to be my nearest Cathedral. I would have been twenty at the time and was confirmed there six years previously (a month before my fourteenth birthday). Takes me right back!

Good to hear so many trebles soaring up there! As for loyalty, excellence and "having to deliver the goods" - my word, JRW is spot on there. The finest training a boy can have. I will never forget it and have never regretted it.

Back in the day I never tweaked that the music was synthesized with 19" rack mount sound modules. There are certainly a few Roland U-220 sounds and maybe even some Emu Proteus 2 sounds. I know that because I record midi backing and recently bought those 2 synthesizers off EBay because I want to recreate early 90s midi music. Anyway my late maternal Nan used to watch Songs of praise even though I was agnostic growing up, I got saved in 2013 though.

Stunning building and stunning organ, but such a shame the cathedral has so dry an acoustic!

That's me, 24:13 looking directly at the camera and wondering why the lad next to me wasn't.

What was JRW like as a director? We all know of his criminal behaivour, etc. Such a shame. A truly talented and intellectual man who unfortunately ruined the lives of others and eventually his own. Depressing.

A grand opening theme music for this show. Was it the normal one, or a special one just for this episode?

This was the normal opening titles for the early 90’s.

The North of England. Old Industrial England. You go there when you're on a vacation going via Wigan Pier.
