This time I'm going to revisit the Archon Fitness Cable Pulley system that I reviewed and unboxed a couple months ago. I have had quite a few questions about this awesome little thing, so I decided a second video was the best way to answer them. I will cover set up and take down of the system, disassembly and cable removal, and talk a little about attachments. Here is a link to the original video if you haven't seen it. • Archon Fitness Pulley ...

OOoh these pulley videos were really helpful, thanks. If only they weren't out of stock due to the pandemic right now. I hope Archon gets these back in stock on their site soon, I really don't trust myself to make one from scratch lol

They are great. Archon usually gets them back in stock pretty quick. The pandemic has caused gear shortages all over the place. Thanks for watching!

I tried to find a steel handle (your first attachment) but the only thing I could find are plastic / rubber ones at Academy. I don't buy online, I'm an old caveman type who likes to buy stuff in person.

They are a great addition to your home gym. Very versatile. I would suggest trying Facebook Marketplace, you can pick them up locally. Also Play It Again Sports if you have one near you.

Can you do flys if you had one on each side of your rack
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't be able to on my rack because the pulleys would be too close together. I would also have the problem of the plates bumping into the base of the rack. If you had a bigger rack it might be possible. When I use my pulley for flys I have to do one arm at a time.

I can't say for sure, I have never tried to build one. I have seen videos where people order pulleys and cable and make some pretty impressive set-ups. I can tell you that this one is definitely worth the money.

How long is the cable you made
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 3 жыл бұрын
The first cable I made was 55 inches. Since then I have made several at different lengths. The one I use most often is 60 inches.

Great video! Did you happen to get the low pulley ? If so how do you like it ?
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 4 жыл бұрын
I bought the two pulley bundle on Amazon so I could use one as a low pulley. Because the cables are a little too long it took some trial and error to figure it out. But it was totally doable. Even though it took me a couple of tries to figure out how to do it, it was well worth it. I love this pulley system. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

I have a 79 inch tall squat rack, would that be a problem? Ive heard the cable is too long for some people.
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 4 жыл бұрын
My half rack is 84 inches tall, and the cable is a little long. I have been able to do a couple things to compensate for it. 1) Double up the lanyard to use up some of the extra cable. 2) You can adjust your standing or sitting position to compensate for the length. By standing or sitting closer or farther away than you might normally.

How tall is your rack and do the weights sway if you put multiple plates? Thanks
@JScottHelms

At the tallest point it is 85 inches. It does not sway or move at all. Very stable.

Have you tried to use the 2 pulleys up high for crossover flyes? I’m building my home gym and trying to figure out the best way to do that
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 4 жыл бұрын
I have tried it, and it works pretty well. The only problem I had was the width of my half rack. The pulleys should be a little farther apart. Still doable, I just had to be a creative with the set up.

J Scott Helms I have the same half rack. Just finished setting it up today. I’m still waiting on plates but I’m excited to get started. I’m going to keep researching. I do have ceiling studs in my garage next to where I have the rack that I have a heavy punching bag attached to. I saw another guy position his in the ceiling and do crossovers. If I do buy these I’ll probably switch from the half rack for lat pull downs and tricep push downs to the ceiling for flyes. The 70 inch cable is sort of scaring me away though.
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 4 жыл бұрын
If I could mount mine to the ceiling I would. My ceiling is about 10 inches above my rack and I think that would use most of the extra cable. A little creative set up goes a long way, don’t let the cable put you off this pulley. It’s been an excellent addition to my gym.

What is the length of the entire pulley harness hanging from the crossbar? I don't have a whole lot of height on my rack.
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 4 жыл бұрын
From the bottom of the crossbar it is 12 inches to the bottom of the pulley. That is with one wrap around the bar. Hope that helps.

@@JScottHelms let me ask you another thing, if you don't mind. You got the high pulley and the low pulley, correct? Is there a difference between the two, like is the low pulley designed differently? Or are you just using two of the same?
@JScottHelms
@JScottHelms 4 жыл бұрын
The pulleys are exactly the same. The only difference is the actual cable. One of the two pulley kits has two 70 inch cables, the other kit has a 70 inch cable and a 55 inch cable. Everything else included in the kits is exactly the same.
