Our coffee table is a steel frame outdoor table that someone put by the dumpster at our old apartments, the top was water damaged and gross! But the frame has a beautiful leaf design and I could not let it sit there! Had my husband lug it up 3 flights of stairs 😂 we had a piece of wood cut to fit and stained it, then I glued glass tiles down in flower shapes, then we did epoxy on top. We still have to do a couple more layers, but it is a super cool illusion, the epoxy is so thick it covers the tiles completely. I love it so much and there's not another table out there like it!! Definitely got me addicted to finding trashed pieces and making them beautiful with epoxy. Your table is beautiful! 😌👍

Acrylic is not resistant to many common solvents that may be present in the resin. www.eplastics.com/Plastic/plastics_library/Chemical-Resistance-of-Plexiglass-Acrylic - as an example - a lot of things are 'N' - and may cause immediate swelling and warping.

Then you might as well flip it over and use the smooth side up. You will not see the texture if you put clear resin on it.

Light would still show the structure inside if you had a clear resin on top. I wonder what would happen if he put another layer of a harder but more brittle resin after the last blue pur, for the structure, then another layer of this softer resin. it should work like concrete and still. one provides stiffness and the other provides flex so the brittle one doesn't crack.

Great work Peter. I'm a bit late to your channel but now I'm here. I too mold and cast things and I too had a problem with figuring out how much rubber or resin to use in a pour. What I started doing was filling my molds with water. This does two things for me. One, it lets me know if there are any holes in my mold walls. And two, by pouring the water into a measuring cup, I know just how much material to use. I always add a little bit more water just to be safe. No more having to quickly mix more produce and no more wasting it either.
