Here's a question for anyone who knows: what happens with the trimmers on the transmitter when you convert it to Arduino? Can they be incorporated into the circuitry so they can still do their job? If so, how are they connected? If not, how do you trim the quad before/during flight?
@originalthehrao
@originalthehrao 5 жыл бұрын
Dont think that you would need a trimmer with flight controller on board. You can add code to your flight controller to auto trim if its not already taking care of the trimming.

I tried it and got a bunch of gibberish letters that scroll continuously regardless if the module is connected or not. I am not quite sure what should I see and if I have an issue with the module or with something else. thank you for sharing the code, it really helped. :) UPDATE: it turns out that I applied 5V instead of 3.3V on one unit so basically I fried one unit and had the other one works fine so probably that explains the erratic letters I was seeing. :)

How did you make the manual fine tune? You did not show how.😓
@marklimbrick
@marklimbrick 5 жыл бұрын
...all the questions in these comments, I know the answers, but you could easily google and find out yourself....eg Iman Amal - the joysticks have a mechanical link which moves the whole body of the 'pot' to function as the trim adjusters = manual fine tune? No extra 'trimming' pots, so this is more reliable way to do it. I point out that there is no hi-tech 'channel hopping' with this system, so you need to be real careful about checking maximum range, every time, before a flight!

Is there a way to wire the receiver to a Naze32 instead of arduino nano /pro mini? I have it set up, and think i see the noise jittering from the working receiver on the Naze, but cant seem to get the receiver and the transmitter to communicate. I have the Potentiometers setup raw, as im still waiting on my Joystick ones. Have everything wired according to your schematics, and flashed the according firmware to the Arduinos. Both NRF24 get their supply from the same 3.3 v ams1117 breadboard power unit. Nothing smoked or smelled funny. :D The Baseflight App shows no change upon turning the pots. I hope you have a suggestion how to get this to work ! :) (Loved your Idea of making Remote and Receiver myself, and so, customizable!) ;)
@ELECTRONOOBS
@ELECTRONOOBS 7 жыл бұрын
I'm not fully understanding you. The trasmitter/receiver doesn't work at all or it has errors? Your NAZE32 acdept PPM signal or it has normal PWM signal for each channel. Upload the transmitter code to the transmitter arduino and upload the receiver test to the receiver and check the arduino serial monitor. If that works, then upload the normal receiver code and connect the PPM wire to your Naze board. It would be nice to observe the signal on one oscilloscope. Any any other question just ask!
@bendixsondermann8039
@bendixsondermann8039 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the fast Reply! :) Sorry, i will try to clarify a bit more! ;) In the Baseflight App, i set the Naze32 to PPM Input (which disables PWM) I wired the Receiver up, and the Baseflight App shows me slightly jittering Values, sitting roughly in the middle ( i have a lot of Interference here where i sit, as there is a wifi router nearby, and various Electronics, etc. The Jitter is small tho, from 1500 to 1501 and back, for example. When i turn on the power for both nrf24, the signal in Baseflight shortly jumps. Thanks,I will try the Receiver test , and get back to you! :) Sadly i dont have an Oscilloscope, but i would like to have one, someday. I only have a Multimeter at the moment. Lets see if i can get this to work. Its my first time doing this kind of build! ;)
@ELECTRONOOBS
@ELECTRONOOBS 7 жыл бұрын
But ignoring the small jitter the transmission works? I mean you slide the potentiometer and the received values change?
@bendixsondermann8039
@bendixsondermann8039 7 жыл бұрын
ELECTRONOOBS, in fact it does not,and I still need to Try the receiver test Today. What it does is "spike" as soon as I connect the power to both nrf24 (in the receiver tab in Base flight) In my opinion, that means, the Naze at least has a working connection to its receiver (I think there is a problem in communicating between both the Nrf24. And I think the Problem might be on Transmitter side) I will be back home in like 2.5 Hours, and then I will tell you the results of the receiver test. Let's say, I get no output, at all. Even tho everything is wired correctly. What would I do then? I can make you as many photos as you need, if you want to see my setup. 😊

Can this build work with an frsky transmitter module or not?

Can you please help me. I have spent hundreds of dollars on this, gone through 7 sets of nrf24 modules and I still cannot get the controls to work. I have the flight controller working. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I have checked at least a hundred times. I have my wires connected on breadboards with pins connected below Ce==>9 CSN==>10 SCK==>13 MOSI==>11 MISO==>12 For some reason I CAN NOT get the radios to communicate. For even simple nrf24 tutorials. What am I doing wrong???

Ok so there are many reasons the radio could fail. I recommend you to first test the simple code of send and receive of only one data. Make sure the radio voltage is 3.3V and maybe use external regulator for more current. Use short wires between arduino and radio module to reduce interference. Make sure to select csn and ce pins in the code to match your connections, in this case as you say, pins 9 and 10. If still doesn't work, i don't know...

@@ELECTRONOOBS Well first I appreciate the response. I am using the nRF24L01+ Adapter that regulates the voltage and im using the 5v pin from the arduino nano. I have tried every simple test code I can find and I am certain about the csn and ce pins. I've heard that the market is flooded with cheap knock offs so I guess I am just going to keep ordering different ones until I find a good set. If you could recommend somewhere for me to purchase them THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!!

because i am so new, can you make code so i can fly drone via joystic analog like attack 3 logitech from my computer, via pc serial - arduino - nrf24l01 .. ??, and ppm output too so i can try my drone using cable without transmitter, thanks

You didnt mention anything about the capacitor used in the receiver? Can you please explain it
@ELECTRONOOBS
@ELECTRONOOBS 7 жыл бұрын
The NRF module needs very stable 3.3 volts and alos needs a lot of current so for that we add an extra capacitor to supply those peaks when needed. Keep up!

heyy..!! i've follow all the schematic for the transmitter that you have mentioned but when i supply 12v to nrf gets hot. and some times joystick change values on test code but mostly it doesnt work
@ELECTRONOOBS
@ELECTRONOOBS 7 жыл бұрын
12V to the NRF24???? I expressly say it needs 3.3V. That's why you should use a voltage regulator. With 12V that NRF24 it's definitelly dead.

yea i know and i have used regulator 3.3v but its still gets hot when i attach the 12v betray as shown in your schematics.

Make sure of the AMS1117 pins. First is GND, second is OUT and third is IN. Once it is connected measure the output. It is 3.3V? Keep up!

But the radio connection works? It might be possible that you have already burned the chip, amybe a short circuit. Sorry I can¡t know what is the problem...
