I built my first drone, its tbs discovery clone with pixhawk + 4S 4200mAh lipo. But I am facing a issue. The battery fail safe is happening before the value of the low batt fail safe in mission planner. I did bench testing and found something. First I did calibration of power module for voltage then I attached the props on the motor in a different way such as CW prop on CCW motor and vice versa, so that it will keep the quad at ground and will generate thrust towards sky hence it will push the quad towards the ground. I took the readings from battery checker at balance plug and the power module of pixhawk (Volt readings in mission planner) to compare the voltage difference. When quad is armed the voltage reading is quite OK! but as I increased the throttle the voltage difference is increasing rapidly. The approximate values are....at ~0% throttle voltage diff is ~0.06V, at ~17% throttle voltage diff is ~0.11V and at ~34% throttle voltage diff is ~0.19V and at ~50% throttle the volt diff is ~0.29V..........The difference between voltage at balance plug of the lipo and the voltage measured by the power module of pixhawk in the mission planner, is increasing with increase in throttle, Is this normal?? If no then wt could be the issue and how can I solve it possibly.....

This is because of the voltage drop and the internal resistance of the circuit and battery, basically the measurement at the balance port is not taking into account the resistance of the load circuit so that’s why your seeing the voltage drop as the load increases and the resistance of the circuit changes. I would apply an offset to your MP calculation of around the difference your seeing or a midpoint. 0.2v for instance. .

@@MadRC Yep, that's correct but isn't the voltage is measured by the power module itself? I have attached the lipo and the pixhawk's power module together. There's just a xt60 extension cable of about 8 to 10cm. But still, I am getting voltage drop by 2V to 4V at approximately at 50% throttle. Is that normal for this setup?

Will 3 external compasses actually make a difference, or is it just overkill?

how you select the GPS_AUTO_SWITCH, do you use Blend #2 best #1 or the last #4, I really understand the way that you explain this topics, I would appreciate your input. Thanks!
