First off, hats off to your landscaping skills, Not sure if you handle that yourself but it looks awesome. I am thinking about buying the same AMP running boards. My only concern is the location of the motors. Have you heard of any issues when the truck is driven through a puddle or during heavy rain?

Thanks! Yes. Do all the landscaping myself. 💪🏼. And been running these since 2019 with no issues.

Great Video. Been wanting to get these steps too. I looked on the AMP site and they have different part numbers for Diesel and Gas. I wonder if it's because of the DEF tank?

FYI something to consider. I have 2018 duramax and have run into two issues. 5-6 in lift on truck. First they say 12 in drop. Thats not true even from inside floor of truck. These come down about 4 in lower than the stock step. So watch your lift size. Second, they hit my Bushwacker Boss fender flares and will require trimming. The DEF tank is a real issue on the passenger side too. More details on request. I wish i had better news.

I just bought a 2019 silverado 3500 duramax and I want to install the power steps on it. Is the def tank an issue, or you got the wrong model, I've heard they have different models steps for gas and diesel models.

Glad they missed the gate!!! And do you wife anything in the fuse block inside the drivers side of the truck. Or is everything under the hood. Any splicing?
@linksgarage19854 жыл бұрын
T W - I’m glad 2! Ha. No wiring to the inside fuse block. It hooks to the OBD 2 port. Everything else is under the hood. Hook to the positive and negative battery terminals. Wired with its own separate fuse. You do have to cut and route wires for the lights (supplied in the kit, With butt connectors also included). Can be done in a day in the driveway. Keep in mind my truck is lifted. Stock trucks set lower so it will be more difficult from a clearance standpoint. Thanks for watching!

Hey Scott, I’m mounting some of these steps on my wife’s truck; 18’ L5P, I’m having huge issues. So on both fronts the tires are gonna hit the brackets for the motors if I use the intended mounting spots. She’s got a 7 inch lift and 37x13.50s on 22x12s with I wanna say a -44 offset. I’m in the process of making some brackets of my own to move the fronts back about an inch, just battling spacing of body mounts and the lovely def tank. Did you have the same problem?
@linksgarage19852 жыл бұрын
Sounds like an awesome set up! I did not have that issue. I did remove my motor guards on the amp steps, and space the front bumper forward. And I am running 37s. But the are 12.50s and less of an offset. I’d say that’s where you are having the issue. And yes, the def tank, steps and 37s are not easy. Good luck!
@onebdcuda2 жыл бұрын
would like to see what you came up with.
@ryanoverstreet12302 жыл бұрын
@@onebdcuda So what I ended up doing on it was tapping the small plate brackets about 1” forward from their factory holes, and then using a 3/4 bit and just basically beveling the top so that the bolt sat flush in the plate, moving them forward and making new holes on the bottom for the mounts and it gave me all the clearance I needed, so it just moved the front motors back about an inch. I did have to trim the Def tank cover just on the front portion because it sat really flush with the Def tank, but it gave the clearance so the motor mounts of the steps won’t get ripped off. Had the Def tank not been where it is life would’ve been much easier.
