100% to all of this. I’m currently working on my own book buying habits and being more mindful with the books I buy, even though i mostly shop secondhand. I do book hauls but I also am in the process of curating my shelf’s and unhauling.

I am not immune to pretty books, but I will be fair to myself and say that I only allow myself to buy cute editions of books I don’t already own (usually classics). I got a special edition of one book I already owned once and that was Battle Royale for the 15th anniversary edition; however, my sister also read and liked that book and I gave her my standard edition copy when I got my anniversary edition.
