You have to close the game then turn on HDR in windows 11 then boot up the game for HDR to work.
@noidsuper8 ай бұрын
I think the problem with HDR in these monitors isn't so much these monitors themselves, but just Windows having atrocious HDR support. I've seen some people get really good results, but they needed to do an insane amount of calibrating and finicking with the settings. So much so that I think it's kind of unreasonable for most users.

I don't know why these companies incorporate speakers in monitors. They always sound bad and no one that I know has ever used them. They could use the resources to add more ports. Edit: I see you said the very same thing.
@tackytaco81332 ай бұрын
This is subjective. I like a minimalist design. I always use headphones but having speakers for those odd times feels good without having actual speakers occupying space on my desk.

Idk if someone already mentioned this, but Oled monitors have that "gray bit" there because the screen subtly moves around while in use. If you look for that line later, it will probably be in a different spot like the left, right, bottom.

Pixio also offers a 3 year warranty, which is only matched by the new gen 3 QD OLED monitors and AOC (although they have so many requirements I feel like they don't count)

It needs to be cheaper. I would just spend the extra 200 and get the newest LG with the 3rd Gen panel that hits 275 nits.

The content you're consuming, needs to support HDR!? Turning on HDR for normal SDR makes no difference. Watch a HDR video on KZbin on a HDR monitor/TV and you'll see the difference between HDR and SDR. HDR content when in the right circumstances, absolute no contest compared to normal SDR!
@TheTechne9 ай бұрын
100% agree, but 90% of games I play look way better without, and much better on large TV. But also them KZbin vids with 4k, oled, and hdr, all made to showcase that stuff. But again in most games it’s just ehhhhh
@VeeHausen9 ай бұрын
@@TheTechne For games this is true, only a handful of games support proper HDR. I believe Destiny supports it out of the box but like you said, MOST games DO NOT support HDR. To those games that do support it, HDR looks night/day difference to SDR but that's if your monitor or TV can compensate for it. P.s. I need OLED to saturate this market so we can get even cheaper outstanding looking monitors in the future. :D

@@VeeHausenyeah, I think the HDR just really shines on a massive 55” or bigger screen. Hogwarts Legacy is a good one.

If you have windows 11 it has a true hdr callibration app so with an oled the hdr is outstanding so you are missing out on a lot of visual quality, if you have windows 10 leave hdr off lol.

evidence of input lag ?? because ive never heard that said on HDR 😂😂

Unfortunatally hdr is set up wrong in most games. It is supposed to have vibrant colors. Often the blacks are raised, which even slightly elevated causes colors to wash out. Great video as always!

When HDR has the nits to support the brightness impact it’s really amazing. Oled tvs have the advantage and get brighter over more screen APL sizes, oled monitors like this are lacking. When monitors catch up I bet you’ll be more impressed. Then again you’re sitting so close to a monitor maybe your eyes will melt. 😂

I feel like when you are already spending $700 on something might as well save up and not risk going with the budget option. OLED displays are already very fragile and have had burning issues even with reputable brands. Its just not worth the risk imo. And its not like you NEED an OLED monitor, so if you really want one, just get one thats reliable.
