Every good things the pagans have or have had belongs to Christ, so I don’t see why the Church wouldn’t have free reign over those things.

The Christmas tree comes from Germany, particularly from the Protestant founder Martin Luther. Yule logs and mistletoe likely come from northern European folk customs. Some may perhaps be Pagan in origin, but have since lost their Pagan meaning. These things have little significance in the modern celebration of Christmas anyway. Of course the legends of Santa Claus originated with the Catholic Saint Nicholas, who is the patron saint of sailors and children. The story of his life has been embellished with legends and myths from all over the world, resulting in the Santa Claus traditions we are familiar with today.🐱‍🏍🐱‍🏍

I wonder if the people who celebrate Hanukkah, know that Judaism also uses a Babylonian calendar or names of pagan gods, or the fact that they also use lights, or the similarities between the Ancient Israelite religion with the religion of their pagan neighbors. The same thing that Christians do, God basically did in the time of Moses, took already existing human expressions of worship and took out the things that weren’t compatible or elevated things to a higher moral level. I admit that I was on the same boat, I thought Christianity was too pagan, and started reading history and culture surrounding biblical times and realize two things, the Bible became more alive and obscured things became relevant and that Israelites and Christians weren’t so different to their pagan neighbors when it came to religious expression, the ONE big differences is that they worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

What's pagan was the oak tree cut off by St Boniface. The tiny fir tree growing near it was shown as how Christians should be pointed to heaven, evergreen with everlasting life. But I've seen quite a few weird protestant quotes that perpetuate this idea that Catholics bow down to the tree while opening the presents since they are crouched beneath it 😂. 😶 They make up all sorts of things, even if it sounds ridiculous 🤷

@@nick.s.c3102 Constantine started Christianity from an already previous pagan religion called Christianity. He killed the last of Yahweh Messiah's elect with the 11th Roman Emperor Persecution. All that were left were all the pagans so Constantine had to get them all under one heading that of Christianity and he killed any of them that would not come over to his new form of this pagan religion christian religion. Every person walking this earth today their geneology goes back to their pagan forefathers that did not accept the truth when given back then for salvation. We all inherited the lies of our forefathers and along with Constantine''s Satanic Christian lies. We all have been living in Satan''s world without salvation. This world is all about nothing but death. Constantine had to kill all those that would not come over to his Christianity so he made Christianity the Universal religion of the Roman Empire and made it the only religion allowed. The Roman Empire at that time engulfed the whole of humanity. Now if he had all the elect killed off,it would be just as easy to kill those pagans that would not do what he wanted them to do. You have The Protestants and Catholics pastors and priests setting people up by Satan's design to end up in the Lake of Fire at Yahweh's return. This is why the Papacy/Pope will make Christianity the world religion during the Tribulation Period just like Constantine had done back then and will also have anyone killed that will not come over to it at that time. Only the people that accepts the truth when given during the first 3 1/2 years of the Papacy''s 7 Year Peace Plan after WW3, and are Spirit filled will be the only ones that will not fall for the Christian religion lie at that time. Everyone else will become a Christian and Yahweh will kill and burn them up at his return, end of story. 1. Constantine was the last Emperor with his, the 11th Emperor persecution that killed off the last of Yahweh’s elect. 2. Constantine’s killing of the last of the elect opened the 5th Seal. The 5th Seal is the rule of the Papacy and we are living at the very end of it as the Papacy is getting its power back. Yahweh destroys this system at His return. Constantine started it and the last Pope will be the end of it. 3. Constantine created Christianity, which has always been pagan to the core. Christianity was a pagan religion in Egypt and the Mediterranean area, so Constantine took that title to bring all pagans under one heading since only pagans were left after all Yahweh's elect were killed off. and took the scriptures and perverted them to make Christianity more appealing to all the pagans. Then Christianized the pagan holidays. Constantine's Christianity incorporated Saturnalia into the religion of calling it Christmas in the 4th Century AD. No such festival exists in the Scriptures. It is directly from Babylon. The origin of the X-mas Tree (X or “the cross” is the symbol of Tammuz and the mark/monogram of Jesus Christ) is actually the Tammuz/Nimrod Tree and has absolutely nothing to do with The Messiah or The Truth found in scripture. 4. Constantine created Christianity, so it would absorb all pagan religions and without denominations. At the time of the 7 Year Peace Plan the Pope during the Tribulation part of it, which is the last 3 1/2 years of it, will make Christianity the One World Religion and it will absorb all pagan religions and there will be no more denominations in it and thus, making it like Constantine had started it out to be. 5. Constantine and his pagan bishops made the scriptures void of salvation by putting pagan deity names and words into the scriptures and taking Yahweh’s name out. 6. Constantine is the one that gave the pagan names Jesus and Christ, also Lord and God to believe in to deceive the world. 7. Constantine in 331 A.D. had the 50 of his pagan scriptures done in the GREEK and the only ones allowed at that time. The Fifty Scriptures of Constantine were scriptures in the Greek language taken from the Hebrew and were commissioned in 331 by Constantine and prepared by Eusebius of Caesarea. He orders for the destruction of the writings of any opposition, and for the immediate execution by the sword of any citizens preserving illegal literature via actions of either the hiding or secreting of scrolls or codices. I heard a priest on the radio 3/16/2022, say that he got to see the oldest complete bible in existence today with all the books, made in 332 A.D.when he was in the Vatican Library. Then he brings up Constantine and said that Constantine had 50 scriptures made,he mentioned nothing about Constantine having them done in the Greek though. If they still have Constantine's then it seems they would be holding on to the originals That Constantine had used to put his into the Greek. In 405 A.D. Jerome put Constantine's into the Latin, which became known as Jerome’s Latin Vulgate the only scriptures to be had for over one thousand years locked up in the Latin tongue and the common person did not know Latin. In 1516 Erasmus puts the Latin back into the Greek, which they are calling the original Greek today to cover-up that Constantine already had them made into the Greek. 8. Constantine was the one that renamed the New Covenant to what it is called today, the New Testament, so they named the Old Covenant, the Old Testament to also follow suit. 9. Constantine changed the Roman Empire’s government from secular over religious to religious over secular. 10. Constantine started the Babylonian Religious Government System that is out to rule the world, the Papacy. "The papacy is but the ghost of the Roman Empire, sitting crowned upon the grave thereof." Constantine was the first Pope over Christianity. 11. Constantine became the first Pontifex Maximus over his Christianity, which is traced back to Nimrod, the first false messiah who started paganism and turned his back on Yahweh. Which is the High Priest over all deities, where the number 666 comes from. The Emperors were over all religions in the Roman Empire and they also held the title of Pontifex Maximus, which Emperors were over Secular over Religion, then Constantine changed that to Religious over Secular, If you control the government and religion, you control the people.

There was a long time that Christians did not put up Christmas trees in the home. In England the king put up a tree inside and made it popular for the citizens to copy it. No one thought the King was supporting Paganism when he did it.

"Christmas was not among the earliest festivals of the Church."--(The Catholic Encyclopedia) U.S. Catholic states: "It is impossible to separate Christmas from its pagan origins." "Inexplicable though it seems, the date of Christ's birth is not known. The Gospels indicate neither the day nor the month." (New Catholic Encyclopedia) Christmas Lights: According to The Encyclopedia of Religion, Europeans decorated their homes "with lights and evergreens of all kinds" to celebrate winter solstice and to COMBAT EVIL SPIRITS." Christmas Tree: "Tree worship, common among PAGAN Europeans, survived after their conversion to Christianity." One way tree worship survived is in the custom of "placing a Yule tree at an entrance or inside the house in the midwinter holidays."( Encyclopedia Britannica)

The context is joining pagans in the worship of their gods. But everything under the sun belongs to God , the Almighty , pagans owned nothing ,so what they could have stolen from Yahweh MUST BE RESTORED TO GOD ,that is why Christ came. Even yourself ,your ancestors were pagans ,so should Christ reject you ,?Not at all But rather Christ sanctified us from our pagan origins . So Christmas's trees are originated from the fact that Christ Jesus was born in a stable , and in various cultures , cows were kept under these trees.

I point to you the bronze serpent, it was a tool of healing in the time of Moses but when it became a tool of idolatry, God told the Israelites to destroy it. If you see the temple of Solomon, a temple that God brought down His holy fire down on and acceptance, you will see some things that pagans used as a matter of fact pagans we’re involved in the building of it. This is a modern sensitivity issue and not a concern for ancient people. Ancient people were not disturbed to find that pagans and them had similar religious expressions.
@simplydanny

One other thing, trees have been used in religious worship for thousands of years, even the Bible uses the tree of life and the tree of of the knowledge of good and evil, these “purist” never look into why a tree is used to describe these things in the first place. So are trees bad? Obviously no, only the context of the worship device is what matters.

Actually the church fathers picked the 25th of December because of the Jewish idea that a Tzaddik(righteous one) dies in the same day he was conceived. Because Jesus died on March 25th of that years Passover, they counted 9 months ahead to determine that Jesus was born on December 25th, this was the reasoning of the church fathers way before Christianity was the acceptable religion of the Roman Empire.

Yes christmas is deeply, deeply rooted in my religion and pre-christian culture. The christmas tree comes from the yule tree, even being adorned by a star on the top of it. Stockings come from little children leaving hay in their boots for odin's horse and their parents placing sweets in them. The concept of santa; a bearded man who flys around giving gifts on a night or two around the winter solstice comes from odin flying around on his horse giving gifts to those that honor him. The tradition of feasting around the time of the winter solstice, comes from the yule feast, where pagans would gather and feast and celebrate to break up the monoteny of winter and the hardships it brings. Santa's eight reindeer come from odin's eight legged horse. This whole celebration was called the yule/yuletide. It lasted roughly from december 21st to the 29th, around the time of the winter solstice. It signified that the worst part of winter was now behind you and spring was on the horizon. It was a time to honor the gods, and life itself put simply.

Christ was born on 25 December. Tradition is just as much a source as scripture - not only did the Mary and the Apostles pass on Jesus date of birth by oral tradition (ie the same way they passed on the gospels before these were written down) but in the 200s it was written by Hyppolytus that the churches in the West Roman Empire had all started celebrating Christmas on 25th. We also have historical evidence from transcripts of sermons given in 380s that the Bishop of Antioch had written to Pope Julius to ask what should the correct date be since the Churches in the East Roman Empire celebrated on different days. The Pope wrote back that he had consulted the Roman records held in Rome of the Census (as stated in Luke) where Joseph had registered the birth of Jesus which stated December 25th! In other words he did what any logical historian would do - consult the birth certificate and census records!

Corinthians 8 1 Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that we all possess knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. 2 The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know. 3 But the man who loves God is known by God. 4 So then, about eating food sacrificed to idols: We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world and that there is no God but one. 5 For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"), 6 yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live. 7 But not everyone knows this. Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat such food they think of it as having been sacrificed to an idol, and since their conscience is weak, it is defiled. 8 But food does not bring us near to God; we are no worse if we do not eat, and no better if we do. 9 Be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak. 10 For if anyone with a weak conscience sees you who have this knowledge eating in an idol's temple, won't he be emboldened to eat what has been sacrificed to idols? 11 So this weak brother, for whom Christ died, is destroyed by your knowledge. 12 When you sin against your brothers in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if what I eat causes my brother to fall into sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I will not cause him to fall.

Dude's logic is horrible. If Thursday comes from "Thor's Day" it doesn't matter, because we don't celebrate Thursday as Christians. We simply acknowledge that Thursday is the commonly accepted name of that day. And if Christians are permitted to eat meat sacrificed to pagan idols, that doesn't mean we are ok with "accepting things of pagan origins" (6:47). Christians ate this meat because they were hungry -- not as a celebration of a holy day. There is a difference between adopting pagan methods of honoring deities and applying those things to honoring the true God, and eating meat sacrificed to idols because your body needs food.

December 26 is Nimrod's birthday, the first false Messiah and who started paganism. He was the first sun deity Sol. SUN DEITY NAMES USED WITHIN CHRISTIANITY AND MOST PUT IN THE SCRIPTURES WHICH PROVES THAT CHRISTIANITY IS OF SATAN: JESUS, CHRIST, ANGEL, AMEN, ADONAI, LORD, GOD, BIBLE, SACRED HADES, HELL - DEITIES OF THE UNDERWORLD AND SUN DEITIES TOO. These were sun deity names in different cultures after the Tower of Babel, all names for Nimrod in the worship of Nimrod. Christmas is actually the rebirth of all sun deities. Christmas is celebrated following the sun’s rebirth after the Winter Solstice.
