Pure fingertip mice are such a new concept to hit the market. Almost all professionals are used to Claw/Palm or Fingertip on default sized mice from decades of experience, so it makes sense why almost nobody feels comfortable enough to go pure fingertip at least on LAN. The new generation of professionals will definitely have more people go 100% pure fingertip.
@JohnSmith-sk7cg Жыл бұрын
I weirdly enough grew up playing Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 on the original iMacs with their puck mouse intended for fingertip grip. So gaming mice have always been too big and heavy for my tastes with the sensor not sitting where I want it. I really hope this market grows as I'd love to see more evolution here.

I like those small mice, simply for their purpose. It forces the user to actually use finger tip grip. I use palm grip myself. I think in the mouse space, companies need to start making more specific options for attended use. Instead of these ambidextrous ambiguous mice.
@dddripz Жыл бұрын
Like the deathadder v3?
@kaeroseon Жыл бұрын
I feel like aside from fingertip grip, all other grips are semi ambiguous which is why dedicated shapes has only been made for fingertip. There are the xm1 style mice or g100s/g305 style mice that are designed for claw and g502, g403, deathadder or any oversized ergo shape that are designed for palm grip but because the grip now depends on the user and not how much space is available on the mouse, leading to the ambiguity.

Aggressive fingertipping on the HSK Pro is goated. Anyone who aggressive claw grips could easily transition to it.
@Hyena_Utopia4 ай бұрын
Agreed. This guy just doesn't understand the appeal of fingertip mice. The key advantage of a fingertip mouse is its ability to be gripped aggressively from the front, with your index and middle fingers resting on the tips of the mouse's main buttons (M1 and M2), while your thumb, ring finger, and pinky support the back. This kind of grip isn't possible with the GPX Superlight. With the GPX Superlight, if you place your fingers at the front, the rear hump ends up pressing into your palm because the mouse is too long, forcing you into an awkward claw grip. However, this person is using a fingertip grip (with index and middle fingers on top of the mouse, not in front) like on. GPX for no reason, and therefore finds it too small. He's only utilizing about 60% of the mouse's shape and yet complaining about its size.

What i dont understand with the HSK Pro why didnt they use japanese omrons or even something lighter? Those switches are too heavy for pure fingertip especially that scroll-wheel click is horrible. Wish I could try the M2K.
@BreadTeleporterAndii Жыл бұрын
my friend has a HSK pro and he plays a lot of aimlabs, apparently it helps him significantly with consistency and his hands are 19 x 9.5cm, he has slim hands and i just find that my hands straight up dwarf these types of mice, i cant get a single grip that isn't squeezing my hand in a way i don't like, on note though, I have absurdly large hands, 26 x 14.(something)cm (maybe 0.2 or 0.4 not sure) that's all, they seemed built very well but extremely niche.
@Log_Pile Жыл бұрын
@@BreadTeleporterAndii you have the biggest hands I've come across in the mouse hobby! What nouse do you use?
@nightmare1443 Жыл бұрын
The thing that most people don't understand is that fingertip grip that most people I have seen and me use is not how you are holding at 5:08 but more towards the back of the mouse so you have more space between your palm and the back of the mouse. Its very tiring to levitate the palm for the duration of the game I only do it when I track targets what are out of range of my wrist motion. Most common way to hold is clawing it and leaving space at the back.
@johnulver Жыл бұрын
Yes
@Spoidah Жыл бұрын
Not trying to gatekeep fingertip grip, as I guess some people like to hold onto the mouse with their fingertips but not actually aim with their fingers, BUT, just because you can hold the DA V3 with your fingertips, it doesn't mean fingertip grip suits a lot of mice. It's quite the opposite, most mice aren't suited to fingertip grip. With 21 x 13cm hands I can grip plenty of mice and cling onto them with only my fingertips touching, but it's not ideal, that's not a grip most fingertip grippers will use, you have no ability to make large aim adjustments with your fingers holding mice in such a way. Fingertip grippers generally treat every mouse they hold like it's an M2K or HSK. We don't hold mice in a way that allows it to bump into our palms, it lets us use our fingertips for aiming. This means we're forced to hold mice from further back than they are intended to be held from, usually without proper comfort grooves, or in areas where the mouse flares outwards, and we're forced to click the mouse buttons from higher up than normal.

Oldschool Quaker, here. I think what most people proclaim as a "standart-figertip"-grip, is a hybrid. When you palm or the "roots of your fingers" on the palm, somewhat touch the mouse while pulling it back, it is a hybrid. Fingerip-grip for me is pure fingertip-grip, only using your fingers. I also do not use my pinky on the side, just the ringfinger. So I'm not saying that one grip is better than the other, but that we have to distinguish carefully. For me those small mice like those from Zaunkoenig or G-wolves HSK are optimal.
@srenhyer3895 Жыл бұрын
I love my HSK Pro for both work and gaming. I did however have to change my bindings from thumb buttons to scroll up/down as the thumb buttons forced me to readjust my grip. Since I did that however, I can't go back to my old Razer Viper V2 Pro - it's too heavy and I can't have the same level of mousecontrol as I do with the HSK Pro. I use the HSK Pro for aimtrainers, quake and diabotical and it really helped improve my movement, hitscan and tracking after a month of getting used to it. I think if you want to fingertip grip, then you need a mouse that forces you to hold it consistently like that. I don't think a standard mouse can compete with that - at least that is my personal experience. Can recommend the HSK Pro highly if you play with a relatively high sens (mine is 25/360) as you can quickly and precisely move your mouse with just the fingertips. If you use a slower sensitivity it probably doesn't make sense.

I aim really well with the M2K, and I don't have any stability issues. But it does get a little crampy after a few hours. And like you said, I do just as well with my MZ1 and almost as well with my XE. The time you put in with your gear is the real key.
@wazeFPS Жыл бұрын
I always finger tip, and around a year ago got the hsk+ ace which I love but using it every day its starting to get a little old so I was looking for other options, the huge issue is the price, I understand that its a very niche product but 180$ for the HSK pro 4K and still 130 for the non 4K is ridiculous, the M2K we dont even start talking about. also the side buttons do suck if they even have them, I would be okay sacrificing a couple grams just to have some slightly bigger side buttons.
@VoltaReviews Жыл бұрын
SHOCKING! ❤🔥 I'm a big fan of fingertip on the HSK Pro 4K along with other mice like the Xtrfy MZ1 but nice to hear your thoughts from a different perspective. I've 18x9 size hands for reference so I do for sure see your point about the side buttons. My thumb barely sits comfortably on the side button on the HSK Pro 4K so I can understand how bigger hands might have an issue. SL12 is also an honourable mention for me

I think I feel the same as you tbh about solely finger tip only mice. I've always used a finger tip grip style cuz that always came naturally(I didnt realize people used other grips than finger tip until like 4 years ago)and I've tried the zaunkeonig and the other gwolves mini mice and they just dont feel right. I feel like ud need to play more on them than any normal sized mouse to truly master it.
@yosoy1loco Жыл бұрын
Then you probably do not only use your fingertips, the same as RJN or Boardzy. You are either pressing the back of the mouse into the hand when pulling back or touch the roots of your fingers on the top of your mouse or the pinky on the sides. It is totally okay to do that, it is just preference. I just realized that the community make those hybrid fingertip grips the "standart", which just fucks up the nomenclature.

Outside of people going exclusively for Kovaak's/Aimlab scores, I think they're overrated. There's a lot of bold claims coming from different peripheral companies, yet we're still seeing most of the e-sports stars on GPXs.
@zatozatoichi7920 Жыл бұрын
Because it's technologically sound, easily replaceable, has a safe, neutral shape (which is not necessarily a good thing btw; it wants to appeal to all hand sizes and grips, a jack of all trades, but master of none. Precisely because of this, there's a high chance you can find something better suited for YOU, as choosing an input device is a very-very highly subjective issue, almost completely a preference thing, if the hardware itself is at least fairly decent), and maybe they used the GPW before, so the switch to the GPX was the next evolutional step. Also don't forget that there's money on the line, so the pros tend to somewhat/completely avoid exploring new concepts, because there's no reason to fuck up the consistency you have, for the slight chance that a new mouse MIGHT have positive connotations on your comfort or your game. You don't have to agree with this mentality, but the train of thought is understandable from a monetary standpoint, and it's especially true for CS, where there's almost like dogma around it, hence why you see so much A and B series Zowies instead of the C or CW series (or for the EC guys, the Xlite). As and Bs are inferior in every possible sense, but the pros sticking with those clearly inferior options, because they engraved them in their playstyle during the years and years, and became so accustomed to them, that getting a new one almost seem like paying to have a handicap (at least on the short term, which also won't fly if it means you can miss out on thousands of dollars by not givig your A++ game during the transition). Not to mention that Logitech is heavily involved in eSports, and I'm sure the pros who use their gear don't have to pay a dime for them, or if they are sponsored and actually like the product, they can stack up. Do you think those Logitech mousepads are that good? They are pretty meh for their price, and the problem is not even the underside rubber or the surface itself, but the durability. Now that's dogshit for sure (and their mice are notorious for their cheap switches and shitty PTFE, the GPX included). The question is: does this really matter to you, if you have literally a dozen of them laying around at home, so you can open up a new one in the same minute you start to notice the degradation of your current one? I think we can agree on that it probably doesn't. Same with the Zowie G-SR for example; it's not cheap, it's a slow, really controlled pad, that is affected by humidity. Everything is cool and rainbows, if you are into that. Until it lasts, which is not a long time, and then it becomes an absolute mud pad. If pros would truly use the best of the best, you would see a LOT of Artisan or other polyurethane-based high-end cloth/hybrid pads (or glass pads, for that matter) out there competing. Or Zaunkoenig mice / different iteration of the G-Wolves HSK, if we are talking about pure fingertip players. But you don't, at least not in the mainstream or in a meaningful way. tl;dr: It's rather the GPX which is overrated. And the gears of pros in general, because many people spending their time with these lists are not just curious, but want "advice"/affirmation for their next/last purchase or delusional in the sense, that if XY could dominate with a certain model, they will too, while forgetting the basic truth, that getting peripherals is individualism condensed into objects. Meaning if something works like a total charm for you and even your grandchildren will hear about it someday, it might be Hell on Earth to somebody else - and vica versa. Also, people can get used to almost everything, and not just to good, but bad stuff as well, and finding the right choice for yourself is more complicated than many would think, so are the reasons behind the choices of pros.
