Thankyou so much for spreading awareness sam. I am the victim in this society for eating more protein (chicken and eggs) people always told me that eating chicken is unhealthy but i kept denying and I followed what my body is telling me. I am working out regularly my periods are on time i feel more energetic and lively of eating more protein. I feel majority of people are fools they speak with lack of knowledge

High protein without sufficient fat will cause physiological insulin resistance after certain months. Differs from person to person. High protein is candy bar. Can be visible in Hba1c.

Glucose Goddess (Jessica Schaupe) who revolutionized this idea of "food sequencing", says that if you are not able to eat your fiber and protein first before your carbs (for e.g., the sandwich example that Samantha speaks about in this episode), it still helps to eat that sandwich which has fiber, carbs, fat and protein combined together into one meal. It will still curb blood sugar spikes. From an indian perspective, eating rice with sambhar or rasam cannot be split by eating the sambhar first and then the rice. In that case, you still eat the sambhar (or rasam) with rice and add ghee to it (fat curbs the spikes) and eat the cooked vegetable curries first (normally we eat cabbage or beetroot or caufliflower curries with our sambhar or rasam rice). We need to add a protein source to it and best is yogurt/greek yogurt to end. And then walk 10 mins. Simple and efficient!

Hi Sam, Welcome to KZbin! ❤ Things to improve: At 10min mark I felt the edit was little slow. You could cut out the ums.. and ahs.. that would easily bring down the video to 16min mark, your Average View Duration will go up. ⬆ Also, hire someone to do the animations. Thats what @DrPal did. He is now at 2.8million+ subs. All the best.

Remember that it’s not just sweet stuff that raise sugar, simple carbs like noodles and rice do the same. Get your carbs from complex sources like dal and channa.

white Rice and noodles can still be a part of a healthy diet as long as you control the portion size and include sufficient amount of protein, healthy fats and fiber to offset the glycemic load from the carbs

Try doing Intermittent fasting since its a scientifically backed method that helps improve insulin sensitivity and manage blood sugar levels. During fasting periods, your body uses stored glucose for energy, which can eventually lead to reduced resting blood sugar levels. If you have medical reasons that prevent you from fasting, consider reducing the intake of carbs and sugary foods. Instead, focus on a diet rich in proteins, fiber, and healthy fats along with exercise to help manage blood sugar levels and prevent spikes.

12:02 even the British colonial Era rule in India and other parts of Southeast Asia has contributed significantly to the diabetes disaster. It is believed that they were more than 50 famines in undivided India during the 300 years of British raj, the great Bengal famine during world war 2, being the most famous one. Winston Churchill blamed Indians for the famine instead of taking responsibility of shifting our food supplies to support the Allied troops. He literally said Indians are breeding like rabbits, causing famine. Even One episode of prolonged starvation has significant multigenerational effect on metabolism because persistent starvation pushes the body into storing most excess carbs as fat instead of burning them off. Imagine what 50+ famines could do. In the modern era of abundance, it becomes an evolutionary mismatch. Our adaptation to scarce food availability is no longer suitable for our environment of food abundance, This is why we have low lean muscle mass, more prevalence of Obesity & cardiovascular diseases. That being said, we cannot keep blaming our ancestors or their colonizers anymore. We seriously need to work on lifestyle modifications such as balanced diet, regular exercise, abundant sleep, and stress-free lifestyle, abstaining from smoking & alcohol all of which have become luxuries in today’s world.

Nope. Wheat is a relatively low GI food since its a whole grain with its GI being 45 and glycemic load of 26. But if youre still concerned about it then maybe opting for millets like jowar, bajra or durum wheat would be a better choice
