Best manager we've had in a while. He took over a team that finished eighth with Harry Kane ffs.... Now he's creating a different style of team but he's doing way more than that. @@TB-lj9rt yes I agree. However, my biggest worry is that Levy won't provide the money needed for spurs to reach the heights they're cabable off. A manager can only do so much with the players he has. Levy needs to see that something is changing, growing within Tottenham, and he needs to fully back and believe in Ange's project.

I’ll say this everywhere. For the "Ange out" crowd, understand that Tottenham is NOT a winning club. Underachieving is so ingrained in the club's character that it'll take a change to its very core (the hardest change to achieve) in order to create a winning club. Once you understand this, you'll realise how important Ange's work is. This is why Australian fans and Celtic fans are telling you to not mess with it. Back the man. Celebrate the wins, deal with the losses, and trust the bloody process.

I'm 53, Australian, and played a high level of AFL football. In my opinion, the best managers (coaches in Aus) command respect. This doesn't happen from being their mate. It comes from disassociating themselves a bit which Ange does. He is there to guide and lead them, anything else clouds the mission. This is why players would die for him. He's like a father figure with 20 kids vying for his approval. But a very good comment from an earlier post - his style causes fatigue and it's a heavy schedule playing in Europe. Losses are sometimes just down to flatness and other teams scoring cracking goals. Hard to control if you want your players to go like a bull at a gate every game, but that's the challenge. Anyway watching this legend is a ride. Very proud of the man. Chelsea fan since 1989 but I'm really loving Spurs now.

Exactly what we’re taught at Sandhurst and will be what they teach you in the lesser, colonial version in Canberra. The balance between being relatable and being detached enough to command respect is fine. It’s why we’re not allowed to go into the NAAFI and why the men aren’t allowed into the officers’ mess. It’s very impressive how Ange demonstrates this in a civpop context.
@ozzymick1431Ай бұрын
@brettg4248 I'm a keen Lions supporter but not well versed with all the goings-on in the AFL, especially in Melbourne. But I absolutely relate to the hard fought GF victory this year by Chris Fagan and his Lions who totally believed in him. First AFL coach who won a GF without playing at the highest level. Neither did Ange. It took Chris 6 years to lead the Lions to the Premiership. It took the Lions 21 years after their last Premiership to win this year. Lots of similarities with Spurs under Ange. A long time between drinks, and the pressure of that. But l have no doubt Ange and his young Spurs will win at least one trophy this season. "If you're skating on thin ice, you might as well dance!" PS, did you play for the Doggies?

People also forget that Man U would still go down to places like Southampton back in the day with their golden generation of players and get thrashed. Football is an ultra-competitive sport and it can come down to margins sometimes. The reason why Arsenal didn’t win the league more often was because they would drop points away to teams you wouldn’t suspect and it made betting on them to win games a nightmare. People carry on as though this is a Spurs only affliction. Ange also hasn’t had the opportunity to go out and buy an entire new squad like Man U or Chelsea that is full of players who fit into his style of play, which is a testament to his coaching and man management abilities.
