Great piece. Everyone should also watch the documentaries "Toxic Beauty", "Pretty Toxic", and "Stink" People should also realize that "green", "clean", or "natural" may be just as bad as the other products. One has to learn how to read ingredients - which is nearly impossible for most. The only rule that is truly safe is - if you can't find it in nature it shouldn't go on your skin or in your body.

It feels like we have tons of options, but a lot of those products are owned by the same big companies. This gives us the illusion of variety while limiting real choices. Advertising plays a huge role in this. Companies bombard us with ads that shape what we think we want, making it seem like there are more options. Plus, those big brands often get the best shelf space in stores, pushing smaller, independent companies to the sidelines. While there are ethical brands out there offering safer products, they often struggle to compete with the marketing muscle of the giants. So, even though we might think we have freedom in our choices, the reality is that it’s often skewed in favor of big corporations.

Absolutely phenomenal documentary that is very introductory/ beginner level understanding to natural organic vs chemicals. I am an Aesthetician & also Freshman Aesthetics Teacher & product knowledge aka ingredients is my specialty. & when I found out about chemicals in EVERYTHING I was Absolutely disgusted & angry. We have to care & continue to educate ourselves & others. Thank you so much to everyone who took part in creating this & posting it on KZbin. & this is my passion & is y I am creating my own products for my very own natural organic makeup & skincare line which will later expand to other imperative products we use on a daily bases in our homes. Love & Light 2 All.

So, in America the FDA waits until someone gets harm then they decide to remove the products! How smart! 43:29

FDA is purposely underfunded, that's why there's barely anything banned in the States.

Also if you use organic or minimal preservative products make sure you toss them if they are expired or have a foul smell.

This has been out for over 2 years and there are only 25 comments, are people paying attention? The FDA and mainstream industry surely hope you are not.

I agree. That is very sad. But people are becoming more conscious.

The question remains: why is natural better than synthetic? The word "chemical" is not exclusive of synthetics because EVERYTHING is composed of chemicals. Not everything natural is safe OR better, that's for sure.

Yes! Natural is a marketing term and means nothing.

It is if you’re gullible enough to just go along with a drug store product labeled “natural” and never actually investigate the company, their standards or their ingredients 🙄. I literally just came from a Lux makeup line website that manufactures their products with solar panels. Quality low-impact products exist, I don’t know why so many women are seemingly against improving makeup products. It’s bizarre.
