Wow learnt a lot from the 2 kakaks. Their little speech touched my soul.

One way to keep old friends as current friends is to have new shared common experiences. So do new things together, don't just rely on reminiscing about years ago over and over again.

My BFF and I have been friends since Poly, and we have been going strong for over 15 yrs now. I currently reside in Malaysia, I'm unmarried, while she has a husband and kid. Even though we live like, over 300km away, we still keep ourselves updated and some years there were long periods of silence but you know, it's amazing how we can just snap back to the way we always were before? We are so close, we say we have a "Bluetooth" connection, cos what happens to one of us often was also happening to the other, and we've bonded so much over our shared experiences. Even tho I'm bisexual, our friendship is purely platonic and never once have I had different feelings for her. She's my buddy, my BFF, and so yeah, I do believe platonic friendships exist. I also have a lot of close male friends too, whom I could share intimate things with, as I do with my BFF, but we all are capable of strictly platonic friendships too, we aren't attracted to each other. I'm now in a monogamous relationship with my other BFF, who happens to be a guy, and it did start off as a platonic friendship. But that's another story for another day. I think that, for all these lovely, wonderful people in my life, our friendships come first. Even with my ex, or with my partner, we're all friends first, and this love we have as friends will always triumph over anything else. My ex of 8 years? We split up over irreconcilable differences, but he's still one of my BFFs. Just no longer a romantic love, but back to our pure platonic friend love. Even if I end up alone in the end (choy) I still will love all my close friends and BFFs and these will remain fundamental in our relationships with each other. The love we have for a friend transcends boundaries, even an 8 Yr relationship! That is truly remarkable. Love is beautiful, love is kind.

Very nice sharing especially the two beautiful ladies. I too wanted to maintain friendships that I treasured but i don't know why the 'friends' just didn't respond or eager as much as I do. Eventually many friendships just die off. Was very sad but what can I do.

sorry to hear that!! this topic has always been weighing on my mind, which was why i wanted to do an episode on it. but i've also come to realise sometimes you're not responsible for the other person's response and it's much better you at least tried to keep those friendships going! now, i've just learnt to focus on the important ones who stayed, and be more open-minded to new connections :) wishing you luck!! ❤️ -Jialing

Friendships especially people whom you want to reconnect or reconcile are very difficult to find as you grow older. In my situation, I don’t think I would regret cutting ties with a guy who chose to reconnect with me back in June 13th 2022. I was surprised at first because I completely forgot about him and just moved on with my life as I had better things to do. My biggest regret was talking to him knowing that he hurt me before back in 2019 at UUM. But I guess what made me talk to him again after being ghosted for 2 and a half years was that I never knew a person whom I met in one of my higher education years would eventually reach out to me. Isn’t it funny? My emotions got the best of me since I used to like him before. I just had to cut ties because not only I said nasty things about him hurting me online but I just don’t even think we can stay platonic friends. Being emotionally manipulated by him into sexting was a trauma I suffered a lot. The fact he had an S.O. and never told me was also disgusting he would do such a thing to me! Which is another reason why I chose to cut ties. It was a bittersweet ending I would say. Now, I am just trying to value the friendships I have now which are mostly people whom I have got along since my high school years. NOW THOSE ARE MY REAL FRIENDS ✌🏻

A lot of females who have families , kids, jobs, etc to take care may find it hard to sustain friendships. Some spent a lot of time and energy taking care of their families till no time for themselves and friends

I’m an asexual and I don’t plan to ever get married as I’m very ugly, so I want to be friends with a lot of people, but it’s frustrating when guys think that I like them. Luckily, there are still some guys who didn’t think so and we could still remain friends.

Are platonic friendships between genders possible? Absolutely. I'm a guy, BFF is a girl. In fact I'll be moving in with her and her husband soon. We trust each other with our lives.

Eh, friendship fade. Everything will be bygones. Just have to accept the harsh reality that nobody will be ultimately be there for you(if you're single & has no siblings) and have to be there by yourself eventually.

Adults have a lot of responsibilities in life, in comparison to when they are younger... ... And when (not if) ... ... when mistakes are made~ Children will get a harsh punishment, and they can be educated and forgiven... ... Adults will severed a harsher punishment!, but they might never be able to be educated and forgiven
