I think they are priced reasonably considering the work they put in to them, however they dont make enough of them.

I do love how they don't do sales, BF, Summer Sizzlers, May Madness etc etc. You can dive in anytime, knowing you're not going to get burnt 2 months later. Spitfire used to be like this back around 2010. But they bent to the deal craze, and now nobody values the stuff at RRP, they always wait for the 18 sales they have. Same as Waves turned out, I don't value any of their stuff more than $29 :D

@@VultureCulture Does omnisphere have any dedicated 808s?

I’m about to pull the trigger on Undercurrent and due to 20%off I may as well get 2 extensions, fits my genre I put music to dystopian/ urban decay videos. I’ve had Omnisphere since 1.5 (2014) and I’m still learning new stuff all the time. Every time I look at new vst’s I find myself saying I could probably do that in Omni. Your demo help sell it for me 🤣

I'm glad to help! Undercurrent is really great and it sounds like you could get Unclean Machines or Seismic Shock as well

@@VultureCulture yeah, undercurrent was a no brainier, just can’t decide on what other one, lots of KZbin vids to watch 🤣

As long as they created the amazing Hardware Integration, the only thing we are waiting now is two things. 1. The Omnisphere to become a full fletched Sampler (multisampling, velocities, round robin etc) so we can create and sell our own realistic instruments. 2. A dedicated keyboard controller for Omnisphere. That will be one for all. That will be the end folks.
@VultureCulture2 жыл бұрын
That really would end the game.

I bought Undercurrent and love it. It's easily worth the money. I love the focused control panel and it's great to be able to midi learn the controls to a hardware controller. The sounds are amazing too. However, I wouldn't buy any more because the loyalty scheme sucks and rewards people who buy them all together. So if I buy anything new I'll immediately be paying more. than someone who buys two together and that's a not acceptable to me.
@VultureCulture2 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you're enjoying Undercurrent. How would you structure the discount program better?
@Banquet...2 жыл бұрын
@@VultureCulture I'd do it like Fabfilter, so the discount you get is related to the products in your account, not just what you're buying at that moment. Or just do an intro discount like most other people so you get a chance to save £ by getting in early. The current system seems to just reward people with a ton of money that can afford to buy everything at once - and penalises people who might need to save and buy them over time. It's great for Spectrasonics because it's an easy scheme to implement and encourages people to spend more than they perhaps should, but isn't great for most customers in my view. :)

@@Banquet... Couldn't agree more. I'm a long time user of Spectrasonics, going back over 15 years and I'd love to expand into sonic extensions but the discount program seems backwards by ignoring those with longevity and loyalty to the brand.
@ohheyitskevinc2 жыл бұрын
$238 for undercurrent and seismic shock was ridiculously cheap to be honest. Depends what someone’s making, but compared to say a Roland cloud lifetime key and a couple of expansions… On the hardware integration - I’m honestly happy they did it when they did as I have a System 8 and find I use Omnisphere more now as a result, so it was a no brainer for them to do it when they did. Just wish the green machine/System 8 had aftertouch.. Btw even if they didn’t do hardware integration - it would be there anyway by now through the Komplete Kontrol NKS packs for KK hardware owners - and the control over Omnisphere on my S49 mk2 is pretty good. The sonic extensions NKS packs went up in December I think at a whopping 11 Australian $ a pop - Jason should really charge more for the work he puts into it. Crazy Australians :)
@VultureCulture2 жыл бұрын
I didn't realize the S8 didn't have aftertouch! I had a lot of trouble getting my Kontrol to work with Omni and eventually sold it. I think the S8 is probably the best controller for Omnisphere right now
@issiewizzie2 жыл бұрын
In terms of buying Omnisphere cheaper, Spectrasonics would tell you to shop around as it could 30% cheaper in some music shops. I bought mine in 2015 for $370 I swear by my Omnisphere. I'm happy to sell my falcon/NI Komplete /maschine/Korg wavestate VST. etc All I want spectrosonics to do is update the Hardware integration list. its been a while

Good discussion and I believe that they are worth the money, though as a hobbyist it is a big investment. Your price comparison to Komplete isn't exactly valid though unless you only compare list price. Native Instruments does have sales twice a year where you can get it for half price while Spectrasonics does not. My one wish is that they would allow you to buy the extensions one at a time then get a discount later when you buy the next instead of requiring you to buy multiple expansions all at once. Thanks for the great reviews!
@VultureCulture2 жыл бұрын
I hear you. I do wish something like that with the discount too. However, I can also see how, if they keep releasing sonic extensions, it would be pretty strange if you got all of them for 30% off forever onwards.
