please stop saying you look like east Africans as if East Africa has one look, please be specific and say Horners, East Africa is made up of a combination of 15 different countries and Most of those people are Bantu NOT Cushites like in the horn, I'm East African (Ugandan) and Im tired of people thinking everyone in East Africa is either from Ethiopia or Somalia because of videos like this claiming a "East African"look, there is no East African look, there is a horn look, there's a bantu look there's also pure East Indians in countries like Kenya, Zimbabwe, Madagascar,Uganda, not all East African are Ethiopian and not all West Africans are Nigerian or Ghanaian.
@AmenaandElias8 жыл бұрын
PrincessLeah187 xx There are some Sudanese that look "bantu" and some that look like horners and few that look Arab. Sudan is very diverse. You can watch Gisma D Sudan Adventures video to see the variety of people... But that is a good point! I think Ethiopia has almost 90 million people alone that's probably why you hear East African mostly being referred to as Ethiopian.

Africa is a continent not a race. You're African if your country of origin is in Africa, and as we know, Sudan is in Africa. So I don't understand how any Sudanese can say they're not African, lol. Even the 'Arabs' in North Africa claim to be 'African Arabs'. It's not necessarily one or the other. Perhaps you meant 'Black'?
@nubianangel95498 жыл бұрын
belikova01 Black is a race and Arab is an ethnicity so you can't compare the two. It's assumed that by African they're talking about black. The problem is you have black people living outside of Africa too so the point is are Sudanese people native Africans or mixed etc etc I understand them. And tbh I have never met an Egyptian would ever claim to be an African they only say Arab..
@belikova018 жыл бұрын
Nubian Angel I know people say there are 'Black Arabs', they could be ethnically Arab or Arabised, but in Arabia where all Arabs originate they're usually brown and share common features. I see Arab as an ethnic group, and I also believe some people that claim Arab are mixed/Arabised. I know people, esp those said 'Arabs', see it differently. It doesn't matter what Egyptians claim. They're Africans because Egypt is in Africa. Some people just need basic geography lessons.

Really intersting subject my two cents on the subject: for the people before recorded Sudanese history, it's proven that they were Nobian you can see them in the drawings and sculptures in the pyramids and other historical evidence Do I consider myself as an Arab? Nope, I consider myself more African than anything else Why do I speak Arabic? well, Sudan was occupied by Arabs in the past, whom worked on erasing the African identity for so long. so yeah, long comment i know XD
@nubianangel95498 жыл бұрын
Muaz Osman I agree with you. In Nubian area there are many peoples that look like these "mixed Sudanese" that she says. How can that be possible if they are mixed? They are not mix they are descended from Nubia !!
@AmenaandElias8 жыл бұрын
I read an article saying this as well. They said that original Nubians and the Sudanese people today have the same DNA which implies there was no mixture. Also, that Sudanese people (the Y Chromosome) of men matched up more with East Africans. That makes sense to me because we do look VERY similar. However, the only thing that confuses me is Arabs did come to Sudan so they had to mix right? It's hard to believe that they came to Sudan and didn't mix at all with the people. You know what I'm saying?? Would love to hear your answer! haha
@Mu3azOsman8 жыл бұрын
Arabs did mix with Sudanese, but it's like a spoon of sugar in salty water. There are traces of Arab mixtures, but most of it are tribes that didn't really mix with the Sudanese ones, like the tribes in east Sudan who are still not mixed with Sudanese at all. Rashaida for example. Again, further research is needed, but denying out history and not identifying our African roots and culture is a huge issue, it separated South Sudan and it's going to lead to more problems in the future.
@AmenaandElias8 жыл бұрын
That is interesting! I can definitely get behind this explanation. I hope they do more research to find out. That would solve a lot of issues especially with our identity. By the way my mom basically believes the same thing!
@selmaa8128 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right, I think more people are identifying as Africans now (from our generation that is) and it's quite refreshing to be honest but they should also come to that realisation based on facts and not the fact that they're sub optimal or somewhat oppressed or looked down upon by Arabs!!!! Also if we just embrace our Nubian heritage, that is enough to wipe the world!!!! a history and culture so rich..beyond thought and measure!
@abangkieuabang69818 жыл бұрын
But to be honest Sudan is mixture with Some decendent from Arab country. And African mixing together that form Sudan, that's why Sudan have many mix people, but in South Sudan we haven't mixed with any tribe. That's why why we South Sudanese are in the same shade of skin tone. That's my opinion.

Exactly. That was what I tried to say in my long comment few minutes ago. Sudanese are a unique mix of people so why should they be forced to choose between african and arab? Why can't they be just sudanese? they are sudanese that should be enough for everyone and that is also the best identity that fits them all. As an Ethiopian my self, we say we are Ethiopians even though many think we are mixed what not. But the best thing that describe who we are is our Ethiopianess and that is our identity. 12343 ::::: you see with the advent of many people taking a DNA test online it proves that due to migration slavery and immigration people have become more mixed than others in looks and customs and language and cultural adoption. The fact is Arabs and Arabic or European or Asian cultures are not indigenous to Africa whether that is Sudan Egypt Nigeria morocco Congo Kenya. If those Arab influences are there that is because of slavery migration immigration marriage etc etc. DNA doesn't lie. Nubia/sudan/Kush is African in origin. Some people don't like to know that Africa has anything good including history resources riches etc etc. The diversity of Africa is number 1 on this planet thanks to the African people who haven't ruined it. But outsiders like Arabs and Asians and Europeans influences that have. Next door in Arabia look how Africans are treated by Arabs who call horners abeed.

You see them as black because you're shaped by Western mindset, most likely American. Also plenty of Sudanese are lightskinned. And more importantly, culture is what matters the most when it comes to being Arab. Ethnicities are cultural. This doesn't ignore the fact that plenty of Sudanese men have Arab ancestry (about 22%). And about 46% (the biggest portion) of Sudanese Arab men have J1 haplogroup (from West Asia) which reflects Arab bedouin migrations throughout the centuries into North Sudan. People need to understand that Arab isn't an ethnicity but a culture! It's like saying Latino is an ethnicity, no, it's a culture! What we call Arabs are united only through language and religion, similarly Latinos are united through language and religion. Arabs come in every skin color, hair type and history. Sudanese people look far more similar to us Ethiopians than they do to Iraqi's, Lebanese, Syrians or Moroccans. They just adopted the Islamic faith while Ethiopia remains a Christian stronghold. Baibhab Das Hey, my father is Sudanese and my mother is British. Great question by the way. I’ve always identified as black. I’m probably the same colour or slightly darker than the lady in the video. I haven’t necessarily had issues with who I was, more so when I was younger, but I remember having issues with the lack of people that looked like me. My city is predominantly white so there was very few people that looked like me and that used to get me down a lot if I’m speaking truthfully. Im not a person that likes attention and I would stand out wherever I go because of my physical difference. Also being mixed, people tend to make a lot of assumptions. Assuming I’m Asian, for example. Another thing that used to bother me was the cast between the my two parents in genetics. For example, my hair isn’t coiled or curly, but it’s not entirely straight. It’s more so wavy and kinked, so it’s very difficult to do anything with. I’d rather just have coiled hair and keep it at a length - for example, or entirely straight hair. Yet because of the way it grows, it’s difficult to keep it fairly short due to the way in which it grows so I have to “train” it a lot. If that makes sense. I started watching this video after researching the difference in African people. I’ve come to the conclusion that we have been fed an image of what “black” is. However there are many different kinds of “black”. Different tonalities, features, hair, heights, shapes, sizes and more. I was speaking to someone with a vast amount of knowledge on the subject and I asked them, would you consider eastern-African’s to be black or Arabian and he replied that they are “black/original”. I feel I have more issue with the assumptions people make as opposed to how I feel about myself if that makes sense. It can become a little wearing but I am learning to overlook it. Thank you for asking. How about yourself, what do you identify as and where are you from etc? If you are mixed, have you had any identity issues and if so, what is your perspective on it?
@guccianddodul4 жыл бұрын

I'm sorry but if Sudanese people aren't arabs, neither Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian or Moroccans are. The thing is that being "arab" is a cultural thing (like latino) and NOT an ethnical thing. If you think being arab is an ethnical thing only people from the Arabian Peninsula would be fully arab by BLOODS. We all (Levantines, Iraqis, Egyptians, Sudanes, Maghrebis) have been ARABISED (culture, religion, food...) It's not the color of your skin that makes you arab; you can be white like many shami poeples are, you can be black like sudanese or mauritanians or you can be brown like some many maghrebis or khalijis are. I'm moroccan so I know the identity struggle many people are facing but my identity is clear : Morocco is located in Africa, so I'm African, I'm ethnicaly berber and culturaly berber AND arab (and french since I was born in France).

Northern Sudanese are heavily admixed with Arab DNA from the Arab invasion of Sudan about 6-700 years ago. Mitochondrial DNA studies show before that, northern sudanese(nubians) were genetically similar to the dinka and nuer.

I'm Dinka from South Sudan. I have been in Sudan and now in India but I've not met a person who is darker than me in skin complexion however back in 1800s when turks invaded Sudan,they identified a child who in their eyes was not supposed to be African because he had different skin tone from rests of the people in the community and that child was my great grandfather. He was taken by turks to there headquarters located at Malualchaat at that time until after a year later when his elder brother managed to get a way to escape him out . My great grandfather died with marks that the turks drew on his forehead. This story literally shows significantly how human race(colour ) changes gradually over time . A picture of my great grandfather and mine would obviously be different but we have the same genes . So to say Sudan is completely mixed even we who have distinctive dark skin have brothers and sisters from the same family with different skin tones and it even causes distrust in marriages sometimes. Only genetic testing can solve all this mess .

hey african sister! I'm glad you covered this topic because a lot of people try to identify sudan, egypt, algeria, tunisia, etc. and other north african countries as being completely arab to the point where people even question if egypt is in Africa, for example, it makes me sick and i'm very happy to see that you explain things well in acknowledging both sides. Not a lot of people know that sudanese people are Nubian-Arab, or don't acknowledge the nubian side especially when we think about the ancient kushites that ruled the land. Unlike majority of Northern African countries. Sudan was never conquered by Arabs. The Nubians were known for their great, furious and intimidating warriors. When Egypt was conquered by the Assyrians, Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines and Arabs - Sudan remained untouched. The Arabs attempted to spread Islam through Sudan by conquering Sudan but failed miserably. Since they couldn't expand Islam through the Sudanese region by conquering the populace, they attempted to spread Islam through Sudan via intermarriage.

@Truth Sayer "Fine" features isn't a word I'd use. "Thin" or "long" is what I'd use. What do Kunari people look like in Northern Nigeria? Shuwa Arabs? Fulani? What do Tutsi look like? What do the Taureg look like? What do some Wolof's in Senegal look like? Do the Beja look that much different than Shuwa Arabs in Nigeria? Or some Tuaregs? Or Toubou?
@benjaminsmith22875 жыл бұрын
@Truth Sayer There are all sorts of mixtures and yes, some of the people I mentioned are mixtures. My point is that beyond Ethiopia, there are people with thinner features all over Africa. And thinner features aren't just what you find on Arabs or Europeans. In fact, some Arabs and others don't have thin features. There is a huge variety of features in people throughout West, Central, East and South Africa within the groups of people that have larger features. The trick is, not to look for a pointy nose with a high bridge or something like that. Just thin features, like a thin nose, relatively thin lips, and other characteristics. I feel they have a unique beauty as well as people with medium or even large features. The Sudanese look of this woman is just one kind of beauty on the continent. If you don't think so, that's your opinion, fine. If you do, great. Everyone has different tastes.

I'm currently living in Morocco and I find this same issue where ppl are saying they're not African, they're Arab. Where I live in the North, ppl are a lot more light and tend to look like a stereotypical Arab. But I agree with you, and i think it helps if arabic is viewed as a colonial language, and less like a power that equally traded with Africa along the north and eastern parts.
@tialorenna66035 жыл бұрын
I also think ppl in the upper parts of east Africa, like Somalia, some parts of Sudan, Ethiopia, Egypt, etc. are hesitant to say they are Black bc they feel it's a term mostly associated with West African features like found in the western part of the continent or more globally the west/central African diaspora in the Americas and Europe. But like, y'all are Black. And east Africans from Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya have definitely a totally different look that is "identifiably" African and Black.

Hey Ameena, I actually got to your video after watching Gisma's. I loved how you both portrayed your opinions and tried to tackle this topic in a non biased manner but I was particularly impressed with yours, my reasons being that you approached the debate in a neutral manner explaining each step of the way as to why people think we are Arabs or Africans and then lastly expressing your personal view/opinion. I must agree with you on so many points you mentioned but most importantly on the fact that we do not need to identify as one or the other. There really is no need for this identity complex and confusion to exist. The way I see it is, the US is home to so many diverse people, it's rich in culture, religion and ethnicity so why can't Sudan do the same? Why not embrace both our Arab and African background. It's like you said we were indigenous Africans WAY before the Arabs were introduced through trade hundreds of years back. The moment we lay our differences aside is the day we will emerge as one nation and country, we will overcome our struggles and hurdles just as the late John Garang was trying to relay in his message. So are we African? Absolutely and I can come up with at least ten evidence based proof as to why we are. Are we also Arab? Yes we are, again because of many factors, also based on history and geographical movement of Arabs back then. So yeah this is always going to be a complex topic to discuss but we must all be aware and understanding of our history. It's funny because both my parents are like your dad, they identify as Arab..as is the case with most parents in that generation.Anyways keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing the rest of your videos.

My wife is Sudanese, and I view Sudanese people as being African and Arab. They are a mixed race. There has been significant mixing between Arabs and Sudanese for over 1000 years, and it's notable to mention that the original Arabs were dark-skinned people. Most of Prophet Mohamed's companions were described as having the same complexion as Bilal, the Abyssinian, and even the Prophet himself is described as being Asmar. So being dark-skinned is not a trait of non-Arab origin; rather, it's a trait of pure Arab origin like Sheima said. Genetically though, Sudanese are predominately African, but the Arab blood mixed in the blood lines of many of the tribes like the Ja'aly is enough to not be ignored. You don't have the liberty to deny contributors to your heritage just because you're indignant about the fact that other Arabs don't accept you. That's their problem, and in many cases you're more Arab than them. Furthermore, "Arab" is a construct built around a language not a particular people per se. Mohamed (SAW) even said "If he speaks Arabic then he is Arab (من تكلم العربية فهو عربي )." Even Ismael son of Abraham, considered one of the fathers of the Arabs, was not genetically from any of the tribes that lived in the Arabian peninsula, but he assimilated into the Jurhum tribe and inherited the language and culture. That made him Arab.
@AmenaandElias8 жыл бұрын
Yusha abdul-quddus you made a lot of good points. But for me the confusion is in the history. I've read so many different theories. One that favors the Arabs, one that favors the Africans and one that tries to combine the two. I tend to go for the combined theory but the flaw in that is that it doesn't take into account the non-Arab Nile Valley people who genetically matched closer to East Africans. Also, my question is if Sudanese people are a mixture of Arab and Black African then why do they look like the indegenous Nubians that never mixed before? Shouldn't they look different? As far as religion I don't want to go there because people are going to rip me apart for daring to speak about Islam... But the companions of the prophet described him as having a lighter brown skin not dark and not light.
@yushaq24348 жыл бұрын
I love your videos by the way. Anyway, I don't know if you read Arabic, but I suggest you check out the premier Arabic lexicon "Lisan al Arab" to get a better understanding of how the Arabs used language during the time of the prophet. It will shed a lot of light. Yes, he was light brown, but not white. When the ancient Arabs used the word white, they meant a light tone of brown. They used the word red "احمر" to describe white people such as the Romans and Persians of their time. ِAnd you are right, I think, about the indigenous Nubians. I live in Egypt and the Nubians here never have and never will marry outside. But the lack of mixing of some tribes does not preclude other tribes from having mixed. And when you realize that the early Arabs were very similar in appearance to the Nubians and other groups indigenous to Sudan, it shouldn't be a surprise that their appearance still looks fundamentally black. Keep up the good work. Sudanese people need a voice like yours and Gisma.
@SwagaKhalif8 жыл бұрын
Yusha abdul-quddus interesting how you noted the word 'xamar'. I've heard that word has its roots in Arabic, I'm from coastal town in moqadishu, Somalia originally, and we called ourselves 'reer' which means people of 'xamar'. A lot of 'reer xamar' are of mixed race tracing to Persian, Arabs and so on. But my family look closer to East Africans, I get mistaken for Sudanese or Ethiopian sometimes but that's just about it. But some reer xamar, look nothing like Somalis. My family don't identify as Arabs as we don't speak Arabic, and we've been in Somalia for many centuries, also don't have any family in the Arabian peninsula that we know anymore and nobody in our family is full Arab. So I just identify as Somali for the most part.

AA BB Every intelligent person knows that Arabs have been the main slavers in Africa the Middle East and Western Asia for centuries. Arabs still carry out slavery today in Africa. The evidence is all on the net. History cannot lie. Arabs invaded Africa. Any Arabs in Africa today are immigrants not native. They come from the Arabia peninsular. In ancient times they are known as ishmaelites. And Arabs in the African continent do have sub Saharan DNA. Dna is not just about colour that is deceiving. Amazigh are native to Africa Arabs are not. Eg Arabs tribed to prevent Amazigh people from keeping their own identity especially in Algérie it failed.

Somehow I feel sorry for you guys after watching the two videos and seeing both of you guys struggling about being arab or not. I think we Ethiopians and horn of africans in general have it a bit easier lol. We just say we are Ethiopians period. Whether we have lighter or darker skin, weather we are christian or muslim, it doesn't matter because for us that is what Ethiopia is all about. We are african yes but only in the sense that we are black and we live in the continent. Not in the cultural, facial features etc. In the cultural and facial feature department being african is mostly equated with being west or south african. Since we horn of afircans have different looks and culture, the best identity that fits us well is our country and tribe. We are Ethiopians. Being Ethiopian fits for us in everything - be it looks, language, culture or religion just everything because that is what Ethiopia is all about a people of diverse looks, diverse cultures, diverse languages and divers religions. I think sudanese may also accept their unique sudanse identity which is afro-arabic mix but still unique sudanese. No one should "force" you to choose from being african or arabic, you are sudanse, the unique cultural and ethnic mix found only in sudan and being sudanse may be the best that suit you, no struggles. stop trying to being african or arab. you are sudanese, the land of the unique cultural and ethnic mix and that should be enough for everybody.
@AmenaandElias8 жыл бұрын
That actually makes a lot of sense! Thank you for explaining. What I love about Ethiopians is that they embrace their identity and are proud to be habesha. I think since in Sudan our history is not well documented it makes it hard to embrace a particular side. But you are right even for me I usually just say I'm Sudanese. And then when people say "where is Sudan" I say "AFRICA!" lol
@TheFhdude8 жыл бұрын
12343 ::::: the problem with identifying with just black African is that it is usually equated with west/central African type of look and culture which we the Horn of Africa and Sudan don't fit well. And honestly apart from our color and the continent we live in, we don't have much in common so we from the Horn of Africa will end up trying to fit something that we are not. The best identity that describes us well is Ethiopian, Somali, Eritrean, Sudanese etc. and I think being Sudanese is the best for Sudan. Everybody in Sudan will fit to this identity. Whether one is native African, Nubian or mixed with Arab or African he/she is still Sudanese. Sudanese will then say, "Yes we have Arab mix, yes we have native Africans, yes we have even full Arabs etc. But we are still Sudanese". Nubian, full or half arab, african all are Sudanese, that is what Sudan is. The unique mix of these cultures is what a Sudanese identity is made up of.

TheFhdude completely agree with you,I'm also Somali and understand what you said about the identity of Sudanese,black people often try to shove this down our throats "your not black" or "your denying your blackness" stating your black is stating the obvious! But we East African identify with our tribe/heritage/culture/lineage and does not mean we're not suddenly black! Black is a term that was introduced by whites to the lost tribes of Africa as their identity..for example their a historian called I.M.Lewis said in one of his books that "a Somali never ask's where your from,but of whom are you? (Meaning what tribe are you from)I hope this lovely beautiful Sudanese girl explains this in video as we East Africans do have a hard time explaining this...nothing to do with skin colour/hair or features,but everything to do with identity!

This makes sense. Sudanese people(talking about north sudan) are african arabs. I wouldn't say it's a separate thing, though. You can be British and also be Irish because of where you were born and who your parents are. I always considered myself to be an african arab, since Sudan is pretty close to Saudi Arabia, and it's located in Africa, and also the fact that they speak arabic there. I'm not sure about South Sudan.

I am from Nigeria but the issues of identity crisis is so huge in Sudan, I have watched some numbers of documentary about Sudanese people and I see that these people the Sudanese are the most confused identically in the whole of Africa continent. Even though in some part of Nigeria, there is those who are as well suffering from identity crisis, but the identity crisis in Sudan is great and so huge. Because, especially in the northern part of Sudan, this is people you see with everything clearly shows their Africans but always denys it and claims their Arabs, and not Africans. Identity crisis is a very big problem in Africa sub continent. I have travelled to different part of the world and behold I haven't seen, the white race claiming any other race. If a white person is an Italian l, he will admit the fact that he is an Italian. If a Germany finds his self in any part of the world they admit they are German. But to the Africans, the claims to comes another race. But this is a biggest shame to the African people.

So true! I’m full on Palestinian and we don’t consider people from Sudan and Somalia not arabs cuz u have to be arab from blood. U have trace back to ur ancestry and prophet muhammad (peace be upon him) was the first and last prophet to be arab and he had a very pale complexion. If have educated ur selves about arabs and our history, u would acknowledge the fact the we have arab jews that existed and still exist till this day, arab christians, and then arab muslims. To be arab u have to have a pale or blond complexion in u due to the fact that arab jews were the first to start slavery before the western and européen colonizers due to our pride and natural beauty in us. This practice was practiced in christianity as well. Then came Islam as the last religion to correct all the misleading messages and sinful behaviours as the arab people in the time of ignorance used to do. Prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) was given permission by Allah (the lord) to put an end to slavery and to people with dark skin complexion fairly and to free them out. Arabs were known for their wealth, language, rich culture, beauty, food, tradition, etc. To be truly and fully arab u have to be either from: Syria, Palestine, Jordan, lebanon, iraq, and kind of from Egypt as Egypt is located in Africa. They would call us a-sham-min which means asham. All of us were either pale white or blond or very blond as most arabs have some turkish (eurpoena) descent. Ur ancistoires have to be originally arab and speak the arabic language flunetly. Meaning, arbic should be ur first mother tounge. Thatbis why Allah made the quran in arabic cuz no langauge can come close to thebaccurcy and the clearnecd of arabic. Allah said were just right, rightbin the middle as were notbto much of this nor that. Please domur reac

Yes, what you said is true Real Arabs came from Iraq, Syria, Palestine, and Lebanon way before Jesus was born. And ancient Arabs had tan skin, olive skin, and white skin. Arabs never had dark brown skin like South Asians (Indians and Pakistanis) and Arabs never had Black skin. Anyone who looks Indian, and Pakistani are NOT Arabs. Anyone who looks Black are Black Africans from the slave days.

It does makes me sad when Sudanese people do not feel like they want to identify as both as African and Arab as it makes me so proud to consider Sudanese people as Arabs, although regardless you have every right to decide. Side note, I love Sudan and if you choose to identify as both African and Arab, you are continued to be welcomed with open arms. I honestly believe preserving history is important, and that reason our language should reflect that history. I do not think people who are a mixture of two different ethnic background should call themselves African - , full stop. It has to be African-Something. Because it is more truer and reflects the history of what happened. "African" should be reserved for those that are pure and indigenous to Africa. Otherwise the language we used on a day to day starts to mask the truth. I think if you are a hybrid of Africa and Arab, and feel an affinity towards the African culture (maybe because you grew up in Africa), you call yourself African-Arab (emphasis on not dropping the other part (ethnicity) that makes up who you are).
@lisamanue8047 Жыл бұрын
In school textbooks the blacks of Africa, sub-Saharans have dark black skin, this is false. Black skin has 3 types of blacks: dark black skin, light skin and brown skin. Browns strongly resemble mestizos, others have freckles and others have white eyes (blond, blue, gray...). Two dark-skinned blacks also have children resembling mestizos, but they are pure Africans. The whites have lived for a long time with the black Africans, which is why they classify the mestizos in the box of the blacks.

nice video you've done ,it realy speaks to the mind .but I don't think that deciding whether Sudanese people are arabic or not according to what other arab countries say would be any correct. I'm libyan and based on what I was tough in school there is quite a big number of Arab Sudanese ,another thing I want to mention since we are from the same content that we are Arabs even though we don't look exactly as the Asian Arabs as u said Africa is such a mixed content even in Libya it self you see a very wide diversity of looks. the thing is as the Arabic world was all under one ruling system in the previous centuries, it wasn't realy about being arabic or not it was about spreading the language (most importantly ) and powering the kingdom .secondly , I do agree that we can change the way we are but we also can't deny who we were one day, I mean the fact that a lot of Sudanese people parctice a very wide variety of arabic traditions and have quite a similar way of thinking means that they actually belong to the Arabic world and that's beside the historical connection with the middle east .and that's just my opinion. by the way realy loved ur video ,i think we should realy understand more about who we are and be able to give our opinion and speak our minds 'cause we all need to figure our self out on all levels in order to find our strengths and weaknesses so keep going 🙌🙌👏👏

Can you really specify a time period, because what is now northern sudan and parts of upper Egypt were christians at first. Not all Middle Eastern are arab. The real Arabs are in Arabia peninsula. Countries like Palestine Syria Lebanon are arabised. It’s due to arab tribes that moved to these countries and arabised them. Some of them are Arabs from arab tribes. If your father is arab you are arab. J1 is 50% of Sudan especially north Sudan. So they are arab. Sudan is more Arab than egybt 😂. Egybt only have j1 30% at most. Sudan is Arab and has Arab lineage and forefathers but they are mixed with Nubian women. You always follow father not mother. so they are arabs I’m Moroccan and in my dna test I got 83,6% North African.
