Hani Meb I live in the United States but I am 🇪🇹 and am not habesha. Habesha means those who descent from the Abyssinian kingdom or empire. You see you said Ethiopia as a whole and Ethiopia is diverse so not all Ethiopians are habesha . So please remember that. So I advise you to say northern Ethiopia and Eritrea 🇪🇷.

Yes, I tried “Ketfu” raw meat, Enjira bread and Qutch’u. Adding to what you mentioned, Amena, honey. Is one of the most delicious I’ve ever tasted. God bless Ethiopia.

Omar Hussien Bro, the most stupid act ever a country can take is to assault a neighbouring country. This goes both ways, by the way. This stupid conflict will sooner or later end. It’s just stupidness driven by politicians to be in power. We both nations have to try to know each other and you’ll be so much surprised how much the politicians put us in illusions to hate each other for their own benefits. Ramadan Kareem 😊

In the American South, women from Ethiopia are sought out for their skill in beautiful and unique hair braiding. I took my daughter to their hair shop and left her. When I returned I was surprised to see 3 women braiding her hair at the same time. One was braiding the top, one was braiding the middle and one was braiding the back. The braids were so tiny and neat, and curved and shaped, like art. They were quiet and humble with peaceful personalities.

Personally, I've lived here for 20 yrs (we came here when I was 5) and I never experienced any form of racism. Israel is a very multicultural country, when you walk the streets you see different races and cultures, I guess everyone just has different experiences.

1.Ethiopia => it was the name given for darker color people in Egypt, Sudan , Yemen and northern Ethiopia. 2.Abissinia => the former Name for Ethiopia 3. Habesha => an Arabic word for Northern Ethiopia (Amhara) , Tigria, and Eritrea. Now , habesha works for all Ethiopians because of intermarriage. 4. Geez => The former Ethiopian language 5. Amharic => Amharic language became the official language of Ethiopia in the 10th century. Amharic evolved from Geez, Tigria, Arabic, Hebrew, etc.. 6.
@selammesfin477 жыл бұрын
binalfew Amharic did not evolve from Geez, Arabic or Tigregn. Amharic is more similar to Arggoba, Hadere and Guragegn than Tigregn. Amharic use to actually be written in Sabean Alphabet before it adapted Geez alphabet. Abyssinia is actually the name of Amhara people. Amhara means free people in Geez, Abyssinia is driven from an old Turkish/ Arabic word which means free or independent people.
@selammesfin477 жыл бұрын
Also the name Ethiopia did not come from the Greek word that means "sun burned people" instead it came from the Aetopis Dynasty, the dynasty that ruled the region after the fall of the Cushite Dynasty. The Greek came to used the term Aetopis to refer to sun tan people because of this.

@selammesfin477 жыл бұрын
binalfew The Arabs used the name Habesha not only for Amharas and Tigrays but for all Ethiopians. The Gurages, the Oromos, the Haderies, the Arggobas, the Agews, the sidamos, the Hadiyas etc all are Habesha. But in Ethiopia, we never used that word. It is mainly used by Arabs and diasporas aboard.

Iv always been fascinated by Ethiopia Am Yemeni and there was a time Yemen was known for its coffee, in fact the name Mocha is originated from مخا which is the Yemeni port that used to export coffee to the whole world, Where was coffee discovered tho, it could be in Ethiopia and then from there it found its way to Yemen especially that habasha ruled Yemen long time ago and had an influence on it

+Adam Eeleye Are you one of those zoomalis who claim Yemeni ancestry? Accept the facts bro, Yemen was ruled by Abyssinians and they've build a big church there, then the pagan Arabs desecrated it by pooping in it so the Abyssinians marched to Mecca to destroy the Kaaba but the Arabs begged their Persian allies for help to save their pagan house, however when the Arabs conquered Persia and they started writing their Quran in the House of Wisdom they couldn't say the Persian people who they conquered and subjugated saved their holy place in the past, it was humiliating, so they lied and wrote in the Quran that birds with stones saved the Kaaba. LOL.
