I could not believe that there are still Christians arguing about this. Did Jesus die for us arguing about tattoos? Our God is a God of love with no boundaries. Inked or not, you are loved by God.

Truth About Tattoos i hope this is not your only youtube account because it would seem that you really just focus on tattoos that you made an account for it. Why do you hate tattoos so much? There are a lot of other important things that Jesus told us to do, like the great commission, and I don't even remember He told us to condemn people with tattoos. So i don't really get it why you focus so much on tattoos. Hope you could explain it to me, may God bless you.

my identity is in Christ Tattoos are a sin and they invite unclean spirits. I hate them, because God hates them. Tattoos are associated with witchcraft which God hates. I don't hate people with them, for we ALL make mistakes. My channel is to edify my brothers and sisters on this topic that many people do not understand. Tattoos are a sin and the Bible teaches us to tell let our brothers and sisters know when they are sinning. I am not condemning anyone. Just like any other sin, we must repent and continue living for Jesus.

Good grief. There are people condemning each other to eternal Hell for positions on tattoos. Let me put it this way, why doesn't the person without sin throw the first stone at the person with a tattoo? This is a subtle way of saying "I am legalistic and without love, I chastise myself because I want to go to Heaven, not because I love Christ and am overflowing with his love for me so that I am repulsed by sinning against him."

***** Yes, a sin is worthy of as severe punishment as stoning but not by us. The point is, do you really think a tattoo is contradictory to or hindering God's purpose for your life or a wrongdoing to others around you that it deserves stoning (as something like adultery would)? I think not. It's ink on your skin that fades over time. God must have a pretty pathetic purpose for human beings today if that somehow hinders it (apart from Old Testament context in which it was indicative of "heathen" idolatry - the bigger deal was the idolatry not simply the tatoo).

The short answer to this question is "If you have to try to justify your actions or have a feeling of hiding what you have done, you should not be doing it". E.g. I know people who say they would get just a small tattoo or one that won't be visible when wearing everyday clothes. But my question to that is, "If there is nothing wrong with it, why are you trying to hide it?"

Hey Brother I was blessed by Jesus Christ and was made free from many things in my life that i now call the past. I was a Tattoo Artist for twelve years and was really good at it I made $100.00 an hour... One day God spoke to me and revealed to me that what I was doing was against his will and he was not pleased with Tattooing, I left Tattooing the very next day and sold my equipment and put my self in school, God has completely blessed my life since i left Tattooing and by his loving grace and mercy i am graduating College with a Theology degree in Ministry and Biblical Studies.... Praise the LORD, Our Body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and it is not our own but it has been bought and paid with a heavy price, the Blood of Christ...

Excellent. When I was a teen I actually picked up the Bible one day out of guilt because I led an incredibly filthy life but still knew nothing of following Christ and I thought to myself "let me open the bible because I want to do at least one thing for this God I claim to believe this exists".....I read in Leviticus what it said about tats, decided that day that I would NEVER get one. My heart on the matter is regarding tattoos; what is the HEART behind them, getting them. When I wanted them I could care less about he temple, and wanted to look cool. Tattoos are of this WORLD, and I choose to leave that way daily and leave worldly things when they begin to be unfolded to me in some way. Bless you guys!

Truth About Tattoos Galatians 6:1 are one who says to his own flesh will reap from his own flesh corruption but one who sows to the spirit will from the spirit reap eternal life nowhere in that is it referring to tattoos or markings on your body or eating anything in any way I can't believe you're going to go around preaching that to people so out of context you should check yourself and listen to the Holy Spirit that's my first time reading that and even I understand the context of what it meant you have a whole Channel even your name is talking about how tattoos are bad the three big arguments and the only argument ever listed where in this video and you bring up Galatians 6:1 which has nothing to do with that please please keep it short but if you can explain how it has to do with tattoos please do

vamsi raj you're taking Corinthians out of context again it is not referring to that it is referring to sexual sin only and how it is unclean for the soul last I checked when you go to heaven we don't take our bodies with you and getting a tattoo is not like having sex with somebody where you damage your soul and put marks on it because we can't talk to our souls physically it's a spiritual thing and that's what sex is it's a spiritual thing a gift from God and when we use it as idolatry a thing of our own then we are putting marks on our spirit but we can always be washed clean by the blood of Jesus obviously

My first response to any questions when it comes to drinking, gambling, tattoos, etc. is that we are clearly sent to live in this world but not to be of this world. Who does it glorify when you get a tattoo? Does that mean it's a sin to get a tattoo, I don't know. But I'd rather it be said of me that I am different than the world, and the best way to do that is to be different.

but isnt it the very segmentation of the human species from the rest of the world that has lead to so much egotism and especially clinical depression in the west?
@thebullybuffalo
@thebullybuffalo 11 жыл бұрын
Except that both drinking excessively and gambling excessively (love of $$$) are explicitly said to be wrong in the Bible. If you want to be different from the world do so in ACTIONS - love people, don't curse, be helpful etc. We have the Holy Spirit in all of us now. We don't need to live in Old Testament times when they didn't have the love we should be overflowing with.
@Andrewizner
@Andrewizner 11 жыл бұрын
Risa Craig I'm not certain of what you are referring. I'd argue that any apparent egotism from "the west" is due to medical, technological, and financial advancements. The increase in clinical depression doesn't currently have a known correlation, but I'd assume it comes from early brain development, caused by schools, televisions, etc.
@Andrewizner
@Andrewizner 11 жыл бұрын
thebullybuffalo I'm not just referring to the excess of drinking and gambling, but the very act. Who are you serving when you do either? It's funny that you say to be different I should do exactly what anyone who believes themselves to be a good person would say. We're called to be a light to the world, which sounds like a good thing. Were called to help people see, but how often do you wish you could blot out the light? How often are you tired and can't sleep because the sun's to bright, or driving with the sun in your eyes? Being a Christian means to be set apart. And if you are doing it right there is no need to make sure you go around loving people, not cursing, being helpful, etc, because the fruit of the Spirit will be manifest in you and there will be no stopping it.
@thebullybuffalo
@thebullybuffalo 11 жыл бұрын
Andre Wizner Who are you serving when you brush your teeth or when you drove a car the other day? These are morally neutral actions because there is no morality in them. Same applies to drinking and gambling except when they are done in excess because unlike brushing your teeth or driving your car (well maybe driving can be an "idol" for some people) these things can create idols instead of God and cause you to possibly be a bad representation of Christ if you're drunk. Your last paragraph is terribly unbiblical... "THERE IS NO NEED TO GO AROUND LOVING PEOPLE" ??????? I guess Christ doesn't need to love you or me then either and pay for our sins on the cross (John 13:34-35) God reduces the commandments of the Bible all the way from the Old Testament continually to the New Testament until there is only 2 inseparable commandments: Love your God with ALL your heart and love your neighbor. When asked who is my neighbor Christ told the story of the good Samaritan with the implied conclusion "to whom are you being neighborly?" and showing love to the furthest extreme - loving your enemy (as an illustration, he literally says love your enemy as yourself anyways and if you don't love yourself, you can''t love God Matthew 7:12; Luke 6:31). Galatians 5:22-23 But THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT IS LOVE, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Do you know what Paul meant by fruit? We are the tree and our actions are the fruit. 1 John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. If you're not a loving person, that's a good indication you don't have a relationship with God from being saved and renewed. The fruit of the Spirit IS LOVING OTHER PEOPLE. 1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:7-8 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. I could go on and on with verses about us loving others besides Christ. I don't think you know what God defined as "doing it right." God bless

People misuse the scripture for judging others, just like people misuse the separation of church and state. When people say tattoos are bad it is not judging. Galatians 6:1 says "Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted." We are charged by God as brothers to watch out for one another. To say, "yo bro, you really shouldn't get a tattoo." It is not judging but simply helping to restore. The only thing is, we need to make sure we are approaching with gentleness and speaking the truth in love--not the truth with accusation. God Bless my brothers and sisters in the Lord :D

Advising is better than judgement, some christians judge others in a way that's of disappointment and look down on them, that judgement won't help as the two won't see eye to eye, but kindly explaining why you disagree with what they're doing would help them actually consider your input and where you're coming from.

I'm a Christian Catholic. I do not believe that tattoos are a sin. I believe that god loves his children no matter what. I don't have any tattoos yet, but I am planning on getting one . I'm getting one because I am a survivor of depression. And to me that is very symbolic. And my mom is totally against it, but to me it won't make me any different. And it upsets me how some Christians smother their beliefs in other peoples faces thinking they're right about everything. Not everyone is like you. Just because you think something is right, then doesn't mean someone will agree. Be free, and do what makes you- YOU. If someone judges you because of something on your body, then don't listen to them because no one controls your life expect for you. And I believe this strongly : Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. 31"Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. 32"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.… Luke 6:31 God loves me no matter what even if I have a tattoo and one small piercing.

Jmonof J i understand make up and whatever. but tattoos, IMO, are not meant for beauty. they are sentimental and full meaning. i have tattoos and i dont feel "prettier" or "uglier" with them. i didnt change at all. besides what about the things people do to make themselves "look better" like body building/sculpting? or dieting to be thin or attractive? tanning? dying hair? wearing flattering clothing? i mean theres nothing wrong with having enough pride in your appearance to NOT look messy but if your preaching against manmade beauty then i figured i would throw this in there too.

Putting yourself through pain and bloodletting is demonic, but for some reason you try to find a way around it and support the devil. Do you know what you're preaching? Evidently not since you're promoting witchcraft. Paul the Apostle made in Galatians 5:19-21 that anyone who messes around with witchcraft will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Oh yeah, many people have gotten demon possessed because of tattoos. Just look up the tattoo festival in Thailand. Good Day.

Okay, So let me get this straight comment section... Somehow, you all feel the need to try and put down an amazing and inspirational man. If you are so close minded about something as simple as a tattoo, or claim he is justifying the art of tattooing. I raise you this question, Who gave YOU permission to judge people with tattoos? See, you cannot defend any argument against the art of tattooing because of one simple thing! You are not God. God accepts ALL people, of ALL backgrounds and cultures. Here is the problem with the Christian faith today, many of us are lukewarm. Meaning we do not have the fire inside of us to accept the fact that we have no power over others. We may be able to influence others around us, but in the end, it is our Lord who does everything. He uses us to guide and help the ones who are hurting and lost around us... I have a tattoo, it is my little sisters initials and her birthday. She passed away in early 2006 from Hypertrophic-cardiomyopathy. A heart disease which required a heart transplant. She lived to be 6months old. But she was the strongest child I've ever met. She was in excruciating pain, but she hardly cried. My tattoo is on my right bicep, my strongest muscle on my dominant side. Does having a tattoo in her honor make me bad person? Does having a tattoo of a cross, or scripture, or even a compass make you instantly infested with demonic spirits??? I seem to be doing just fine, I have had my tattoo a month, and I attend church, youth group, and I hope to join my worship team. The problem you have with anything remotely against what YOUR OPINIONS are, is that YOU ARE NOT GOD. You do not have power to judge or condemn any person. You are not a higher being than the next, you are a SERVANT of God. If God Himself were to come to you right now, do you think he would be proud that you put others down and forced YOUR OPINIONS down their throat?? I pray that God will enlighten anyone who is so misguided to think that they can judge others. And if that is you, just know that a 17 year old young adult just produced a more competent and possibly more correct statement than anything you could have remotely began to think about. God bless everyone, and Merry Christmas.

+dj13calli I have no need for any of those my friend, I stick to my original statement. What man can say the meaning of any tattoo? I will not disagree that getting a pentagram, or something of that nature could be incredibly dangerous. But lets face the facts, we can use my tattoo as example, it is in honor of a child who now lives in heaven with an almighty creator. My friend has over 57 tattoos, every single one of them is uplifting, or glorifying to God. He is an amazing youth worship pastor who has beautiful children and a wonderful wife. We as Christians cannot keep living in the confined spiritual boat we are comfortable with. My Churches pastor gave a beyond amazing message about stepping out of our comfort zone and reaching into the unknown areas of the world. Christians simply cannot reach anyone if we are quite simply, confined to ourselves. We MUST be open to everyone, of every history. God has saved even me, a torn, wounded, broken down teenager. And He has turned me into the man I am today. A tattoo does not make me any less of a Christian. You may say all you like about tattoos but that does not make me falter from my steadfast rock that is the Lord. I would like to state publicly that a Christian, who has modeled him/herself after the Image of The Savior Himself, would not condemn anyone purely based on physical features. None of it matters my good friend, because we are saved in the almighty grace that is God. And there is no arguing with that, you and myself both know this. It all comes back to accepting everyone. Because, I've said it once, and I'll say it again, Me, you, the guy next door, are NOT God. :)

+dj13calli Also as a final note, if we are protect by God and His armies of angels, how can any demon enter us? If I was unsaved and got a tattoo of something that could be either meaningless or unspiritual, I could understand being attacked by satan. But this video is from a Biblical standpoint, so I doubt many unsaved people would have much interest in it. As for us as children of God, we are untouchable by satan and his demons. As my father tells my sister, "Satan cannot hurt you, if he does, God will strike him with almighty power" And this is true for all of us. I do hope you will look more into how uplifting and even spiritual in a good way tattoos can be. Maybe even look at some of the beautiful designs people get. It is truly an art, and as with anything, can be used for good or evil. God bless you,

Michael Pika-pi Russell Like Ive told you before, I have seen people delivered from having tattoos in Church. Tattoos are demonic and not of God. *ANY* Pastor who does deliverance will tell you that. Yes, even though it may seem innocent to get a tattoo because of good intent, the devil can still use that because of the origin of tattoos. This is something a lot of people are not aware of and we get ourselves in a trap with the devil because of false doctrine or misleading advice. We are not perfect, we all make mistakes, but God made it clear not to get a tattoo for a reason. I know a lot of people who have been delivered from Tattoo Covenants. No matter what the intention was, people still give legal right for unclean spirits to be in there life because tattoos are apart of Witchcraft. *Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.* *1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.* Tattoo ink is usually made up of Mercury, Lead, Cadmium, Beryllium, Arsenic, which is harmful to the skin. Tattoos can also cause Hepatitis B,C, and HIV. None of this is of God. *Tattooing the body is a satanic practice, it is associated with Paganism, Heathenism, Mysticism, Cannibalism, Demonism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Shamanism, Baal Worship, and many other Pagan beliefs.* That is why God told the Israelites not to do it in Leviticus 19:28. Tattoos are not of God, and any Christian doing this needs to repent and ask God to break any spiritual covenants that have been made. I have seen demons manifest through people with tattoos of Crosses, Scriptures, Flowers, Animals, etc. it does not matter because getting a tattoo itself is witchcraft and Shamanism. 57 Tattoos? That addiction comes from Unclean Spirits just like the Man in *Mark 5:1-20* That person needs to be prayed for. For anyone to cut there flesh like that, that many times is a sign of demons. If you look up the SAK YANT TATTOO FESTIVAL IN THAILAND, Demon possession. You will see what spirit is really behind this. I have met many missionaries who have go over there to spread the Gospel and cast out demons, especially demons connected to tattoos. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Cheers

+Michael Pika-pi Russell I agree. There is nothing deceiving in what Jeff posted here. People forget that God is spiritual and that although the physical is somewhat important, it's not going to send us to hell. There's a whole lot of churches that are more like cults then disciples of Christ. Think they can condemn others to eternal hell fire.. That's just not right and truly hurts my soul. We should extend love, grace, and truth to ALL peoples. Explain the truth without judgment.. When you judge people and are harsh with them, you have gotten no where with them. They ignore everything you have to say after that.

I dont judge those who has tattoos, but as a child of God, though the verse "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" is talking about becoming one, it still is reffering to our body as the temple, and as a follower of christ I would much rather keep my body pure from the things of the world, all have fallen short of the glory of God, so I am not saying that I am perfect, but I would much rather not cause an eye to turn to my flesh. Now those who were once in the world & already have tattoos, its a different story, they are apart of testimony to that persons life. I dont believe that we should justify our desires, tattoos are something a person wants not needs. God bless you!

Mark 5:1-20 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. nd they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine. nd they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts. And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

azariah escalante I agree with you. Sometimes Christians can look to their own society and wisdom in addition to Scripture. As a Christian I should be striving to not draw attention to myself, or strive to look like the world, and instead trying to be a good witness for Christ. In our current society, it seems as though tattoos and body piercing are more of a worship of self rather than being a humble servant for Christ. Just like I don't understand the down-grading of our dress code at church either. When someone goes on a job interview, they try to look their best. But for some reason, many Christians go to church wearing their worst. Why do Christians always try to find some excuse to live and act like the world than just trying to be separate and wholesome. And I'm far from perfect. One can find many faults in me, but it doesn't lessen the reality that putting so much emphasis on the body, whether it's expensive clothing, tons of makeup and jewelry, or tattoos and body piercings, appears to be a glorification of self and not glorification of Christ. Do I need a tattoo saying I'm saved in order for me to remember this? I think the Holy Spirit places that on our hearts. It seems pretty trivial to think we need a tattoo to remind us that we're saved. Just my own thoughts on the subject.

Most people go to Leviticus 19:28 where it says, You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks upon you: I am the LORD. But then some will use Leviticus 19:27 which says,You shall not shave around the sides of your heads, neither shall you disfigure the corners of your beard. Some say that well if we cant tattoo ourselves then we cant shave our beard either. True and good point. The main Question we should ask ourselves is How will tattooing my body benefit me? WWJD? THINK ABOUT THAT. We, as Christians should follow Jesus' footsteps.

I'm not exactly religious but just because it doesn't fully benefit and it is completely unnecessary, it is more of a self expression. I'm not really sure what religion I am but whether I was a Christian or an Atheist I would want to get tattoos and piercings because its my way of self expressing myself. Its just like wearing a certain brand of clothing or shoes, its self expressing and showing what you think about that. Its also like liking a type of music, you love the music, like I like metal and post hardcore and heavier music so I listen to that and wear the band merch to express the music that I love. Even though the tattoo is permanent, its just a way to self express.

Thank you for posting this video! I just got my first tattoo a few weeks ago and could not be more pleased with my decision. It was nota decision that I made over night, but one I have been talking about with my husband and praying about. I got it covering a scar that I have from high school during a rough period of my life. When I was in that moment, I was dealing with a lot and in a lot of sin. God saved me from that and I got the tattoo purposefully on top of the scar. Now every time I look down at my wrist, I see the cross and not a scar that brings up the past. Christ died for my sins and I am covered by the blood He shed on that day. I love the representation I now have on my wrist. I coach cheerleading for high school girls and they are the first people I have been able to share my story with because of the tattoo. It is such an awesome way to open up conversations about Christ and how He has saved us in a way that makes it easier! I plan on using my tattoo as an every day reminder of Christ's love for me and as a way to lead others to Christ by sharing my testimony.

So first thing I want to say is that each person has the freedom to make their own choices and their choices will differ on where they are in their walk with God and we must be compassionate and graceful towards one another. Also I want to say that the overall impression this video gives me is how passionately you defend something that is important to you, and how you are justifying it. Which I think all of us had done or do in regards to some things when it comes to give up something we are really into. You explain how the verses that condemn tattoos are taken out of context. and yes context is super important when it comes to scripture. but, not all verses are solely linked to the context of what is said in that same chapter. everything is interrelated. once you start knowing God and understanding who He is, the same verse would have deeper meaning and you would have more insight about it, that is how God speaks to us through the Word. The example you give about sexual immorality, obviously the concept of our body being our temple and belonging to God and not us, does not apply solely to that. It is the reason for many other things that we should or shouldn’t do, like, smoke, do drugs, we should have the best diet possible to be healthy, exercise, etc, in order to take care of it the best way possible. With that also comes the concept of marking your body with tattoos, piercings, scarring, etc. Even if nowadays tattoos don’t represent someone being pagan, it’s because it has become such a big part of our culture. A LOT of pagan traditions are front and center in our lives, which is the result of the devil getting us to worship him and to partake into practices that are ungodly. even if we are not aware of it. which doesn’t really justify it because it is our job as Christians to know what God is about! It is also important, when doing a certain practice to find the origin of it. It says a lot about if it comes from the enemy or our Creator. And fyi there is no way that Jesus has a tattoo. We need to understand when symbolism is used and would be also a good thing to understand what it means. same thing as people who will have the mark of the beast won’t actually have a mark on their actual forehead. so let’s just take be careful before promoting something that will be labeled unsinful just for our own desires of the flesh and of the influance the world has on us and because we have a hard time not to partake in it.

This has made me feel a lot better about getting a tattoo in a few weeks. It's the words "Ad Astra Per Aspera" meaning to the stars through difficulties, representing that no matter what difficulties i go through in life, as long as I stay on the path of God, I'll one day be in the stars (heaven). I have struggled with the idea of it being a sin for the past year and I've prayed about it a lot. I know now I can walk into the tattoo shop with a clear conscience.

I'm glad you're a Christian, man, but I honestly couldn't disagree more. I know people who have tats, even one's like you have, and they say it was a mistake. The verses you gave about the meat were pretty much erased later when, I think it was Paul, said it was OK, and the Bible is always careful to make sure that whenever it replaces something, it's specific. So specific, that the example of meat and other things you gave were clearly erased whereas the tattooing was not. Now the fact that it had roots in paganism should send alarms off. "Be ye holy, for I am holy." So if you're supposed to be sanctified, and separate, why do something with roots in heavy paganism? Another thing is after you're saved, your body doesn't belong to you, it belongs to God. So let's say that you see the house you used to have, right? Well if you spray paint it, that's considered vandalism because it doesn't belong to you. So if you "Spray paint" the temple of God, how is that not vandalism? You're body doesn't even belong to you after you're saved... so tattoos are, in essence to a saved person, vandalism. The 1 Corinthians verse you gave also implies not defiling yourself. Now granted, it was talking about sexual relations not conforming to God's will, but it can still be applied to tattoos, just like 1 Peter 3:3-4 can be applied as well. Take a look at what it says. "3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price." So obviously there, it's talking about the apparel of women, but it may be able to be applied to other issues. Take a look. (Note, this is from gotquestions.org) "Granted, this passage is directed at Christian women, but there is a principle here that may be apropos: namely, a person’s external appearance should not be the focus of our attention. Much effort goes into “elaborate hairstyles” and “fine clothes” and jewelry, but that’s not where a woman’s true beauty lies. In the same way, tattoos and body piercings are “outward adornment,” and we should be careful to give more effort to the development of the “inner self,” regardless of our gender." I think that is very well said. I have voiced my opinion, and now am done. If anybody (Christians who hold the position of the video poster specifically) want to voice an argument or rebuttle to my comment, I am open to friendly debate.

TruthAboutTattoos Not just that, but when you go to a tattoo parlor, you are entering a very secular place. It would only make sense that if you meet Godly people in Godly places, you meet secular people in secular places, correct? Also, let's say for example, you're an atheist, and you're looking for a "practical" reason not to get a tattoo. OK, much like with many other sinful practices, you can get blood transmitted diseases from the infected needles used to inject the ink for the tattoo into the body. So even from a worldly sense, tattoos JUST DON'T MAKE SENSE. Oh yeah, get one to look cool, 60 years down the road, you think it was a dumb decision, you can't even remember what it looked like originally, and, oh, by the way, you might get a disease. I don't understand the logic behind that.

Okay...now... true, the bible did clear things up specifically, but isn't the entire old testament wiped away? I mean, Jesus IS the new testament and there in only one testament we live by today. Love, truth, relationship with Him, forgiveness, etc. So all of these arguments are mute... And now ok, that verse about "not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair" etc. is a good point... but then why do you buy big name brands? Nike, Maxed, Rolex, etc.? Same argument. All are used for outward apparel. A tattoo is mostly used as a way to show people a aspect of your life that you don't want to hide. Like how a Football supporter would wear his team's jersey, etc.

Now that's a lot of hypocrisy right there and you know who you are. God will not sit on his thrown and judge you for your tattoo. Yes if its no honoring him he will, but for all those people out there that are complaining and judging people over a video like this, Read the book of James it wont take you very long at all, understand it and use it in your life when treating others and respecting and loving others, for saying hes a "false prophet" and completely judging him, that is wrong. For God looks at our hearts and sees if we are glorifying him with our life. Turn this issue to the heart and look at the context. clearly most of the people that have commented on this probably never read Any... i say again.. any of what scripture has to say about this. In today's culture people try to attack other brothers and sisters in Christ with scripture before they ever know the full context of it. please i ask to love eachother and act like the followers of Christ you claim to be.

Unfortunately no sorry my friend but its the people like you that are dangerous and are the reason why people are lead astray from Christ, You dont look at the context of scripture then you go out and attack and persecute fellow believers of the Lord with scripture in an unhealthy way without knowing what is really saying, then you sit online and wait for someone to say something that doesn't line up with what YOU believe. But in reality you dont know what you're doing or saying, in fact you probably dont dive into the word regularly to identify what is being said in scripture. What he said is right from scripture... right from it and you're sitting there saying nope not true, so you're denying what scripture says if you really wanna talk about not speaking truth. But hey when He returns and we stand before him, he will see where our hearts were at, he will judge and see how we were living and loving others and for glorifying him with our lives, I have a tattoo of Jesus on my arm and the word agape right next to him. i didnt get them for a false god. i got them for my Lord and savior and so when someone sees them they will ask me whos that on your arm and boom thats an opportunity for a seed to be planted in their life and to be able to share the gospel with them. And believe it or not but there are people in this world who are BLESSED with gifts of the spirit and use them in their lives, especially the gift of healing, and they my friend have tattoos and look at the context and think the same way as jeff and more than half of today's Christians think about tattoos. In the end if you really still feel compelled to criticizes others like i said before read the book of James. God Bless you and i encourage you to encourage people with the love of our Lord and Savior not bring them down. Even if you think you're right when maybe are wrong and vice versa in the end God will be the one who decides.

Personally, Im a Christian, I have 15 tats, and I plan to get more. I have some in remembrance of family members who have passed not to idolize, but to remember, some with bible scripture, my children's names, some that have special meaning to me. You see, we are all sinners, you know that, I know that, God knows that. This video is right on! If taken INTO context, in Revelations, it DOES say Jesus comes back with markings on His thigh. In Leviticus, that was due to their health issues, and agreed, in Cor. it is about sexual immortality. Whether or not tattoos are a sin, is something I believe each Christian should pray about before getting one. I got MOST of mine before becoming a Christian. And the ones I got after, I prayed about. I personally believe that they are not a sin, BUT if you believe they are a sin, dont get one. It is something that is between God and the person who is getting a tattoo, not God and everyone else. INTRODUCTION The entire Christian journey has one goal of Christianity, which is to be born again in Jesus Christ and be formed unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. Therefore, the attention and our vocation and profession in Christ was not directed toward the desires of our flesh or carnal or worldly things, which is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life 1John 2:15-17. For to be carnally minded is death. Rom 8:1-14 THE DECEPTION The deception of the Devil by Polished sleek- tongued fellow and subtle agencies, like the serpent of Genesis 3, is to reason away the Word of God from the supernatural or spiritual to appealing to the flesh or carnal mind. The devil resides in the flesh of man(see the works of the flesh Gal. 5:19-21) We are not under Levitical Era of Law but we are under Grace in Christ who fulfilled the law; tattoo was never part of HIM or what HE gave to us. HE gave unto us HIS LIFE, The HOLYGHOST, by purchasing our redemption and translating us into a new KINGDOM. And in the account of the works and life of the HOLYGHOST in the Apostles and Disciples, TATTOO was never in there because their lives were focused in the Kingdom of (Christ)Heaven. Col.3:1-11. Misquoted/Misapplied Scriptures: Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. Cuttings in the flesh alone was referred to the dead here but the marks or tattoos was never to be done at all let alone being dedicated to the dead. Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. THE QUESTION TO ASK THE SATAN'S ORATOR IS: Was Jesus's thigh not covered by His VESTURE COVERING? Maybe from HIS Waist down was exposed to see the TATTOOs in them. Revelation is a book of signs and symbols and metaphors. PLEASE, DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY PEOPLE OWN VIEW. You got to know God for you . You need that personal relationship with God not someone else's Set your affections on things above not on things in the earth.

I was shocked reading this. As the comments point out. 1. We don't need tattoos to remind us of His grace. Hence the verse: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 In the video you said those tattoos "forgiven" reminds you. But you're basically saying His grace is not enough to remind us daily. To be "reminded" we don't have too blemish God's creation which is our bodies. As David would say: "I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well." Psalm 139:14 2. I agree with the point that Christ has redeemed us, and that the verses from Leviticus can be seen more of the question off the heart. Then ask yourself this Jeff: “All things are lawful,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful,” but not all things build up. 1 Corinthians 10:23 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. 1 Corinthians 10:31-33 When you get a tattoo, are you doing it for your own self-interest? Or are you doing it for God's glory? Paul lived at a time where he wanted to win people over for the gospel. Hence why even IF Timothy in Acts 16 didn't have to be circumcised, he did it so that he may win over the Jews. I don't know about you. But living in Asia, getting a tattoo is considered to be offensive. It's like saying I am against society. It says that we don't appreciate our bodies and hence we want to change it. And in some cases, it's not winning people over back towards the gospel. To say that we are pursuing Holiness like Jesus and agreeing to getting inked is a contradiction. I'm not saying art or freedom of expression is wrong. But when non-believers sees those tattoos and seeing 'our lives' would it actually bring them closer to Christ? Nope.

BadBob Denver The bible says to Glorify God in EVERYTHING you do! So having a tattoo can clearly be something you can glorify God in. It can open opportunities to share the Gospel to those who are curious about it. If your going to bring up pagan, you better not be the christian who has a Christmas tree during Christmas either. Since that tree comes from paganism. That is ridiculous, you see I have a tree during Christmas but the difference is I am not worshiping the tree....But rather the birth of my Lord and Savior. Because I have a tree doesn't make me any less of a Christian just like having a tattoo doesn't make me any less then a believer either. You are so blinded by your religious Hypocrisy that as your brother in Christ I am calling you to repent of it and allow God's true Grace to be evident in your life. Secondly to look at the guy who works out and Judging the fact that he doesn't read enough or spend time with is family is again utter hypocrisy. If that's the case maybe you shouldn't have wasted your time commenting on this page when you totally should have spent it reading the scriptures or spending time with your family!?!?!

No.....back in the days of moses God commanded the Israelites not to be like the pagans. You see they were under the law. When Jesus died we no longer fall under the law but under Grace. Tattoos are not wrong if your using it to Glorify who God is in your life. The fact that you say its wrong for Christians is just pointing to the self righteousness you live by and not the righteousness of God. Tattoos don't have anything to do with Christmas, BUT paganism does.... and if your going to bring it up in one subject well then brother it should be brought up in another? Our bodies do belong to God. But is God focused on what's on the outside of our bodies or what's on the inside??? Last I checked in the "crystal clear" word....Jesus reached out to tax collectors and prostitutes. Not because of the outer appearance but rather the heart!!! Everything can seem perfect on the outside such as a person with "no tattoos" but behind closed doors that person can be the worst of sinners. Where on the outside is someone with tattoos and piercings who sad to say (a lot of Christians would judge), But on the inside that person has such a heart for Jesus...... You tell me... is God focused on the outside of the two or is it the heart that matters? (Rhetorical question) I pray God's word would soften your heart toward this issue, cause really....it isn't one! God Bless

The word tattoo was not even coined until thousands of years after the verse in Leviticus was written. So when I see the word used in a Bible translation, I scratch my head. The culture and history is so important to understand! You are right on when you talk about how the pagans were marking their bodies for the dead. From what I've read, they would cut themselves and then rub ashes into the wounds as an act of worship to their gods, asking for favor for their dead loved ones. And a for the blood reference, it has to do with eating animals who haven't been"bled" out, not how long neat is cooked, but I get what you are saying. I was wondering as I watched if you would reference Revelation and the writing on Jesus' thigh. I can't think of what else it would be than a tattoo. ;) I know this is an older video, but I appreciate your boldness in putting it out there since it is such a"hot topic" in the church today. Good bless!

You bring up a great fact with word tattoos didn't exist at the time. In a lot of versions of the Bible you will see commands not against tattooing but printing marks on your body. Which is crazy because as you mention cutting was a popular way to mark the body but God commands against both printing any mark on the body and cutting the body in Leviticus 19:28. Its almost like God knew one day printing on the body would become more popular then cutting symbols into the body. God knew modern tattoos would take on a different form then ancient ones! The blood reference is an obvious stretch by Jeff as the Jews were not vegetarians, not even the Levites were. On great truth about Leviticus 19:28 is God tells us the reason for the command (and its not pagan ritualism) In verse 28, God places the words "I am the Lord" emphasizing that these commands against any printed mark and cutting your flesh is about personal holiness. Furthermore Leviticus 19 tells us itself that it contains moral law! 2 Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the Lord your God am holy. 28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord. Interestingly as Jeff tries to justify tattoos with the "for the dead" clause this clause only applies to cutting So Jeff is actually justifying cutting your wrist as long as it is not for the dead.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ is an Amazing picture of how not only are we sin from sin in eternity but we can have power of sin here on earth. God promised no sin could tempt us without God providing a way out! None of us our perfect but we all need to examine our "pet" sins in the light of the Cross and Jesus' suffering and determine to fall deeper in love with His Word and law.

I'm gonna quote my grandmother's favorite scripture/saying. "Work out your own soul salvation with fear and trembling". Seek Him and not some KZbin video. The argument that we can't keep all of it is the same one atheists use to dismiss the whole word. "Live up to the whole passage"?? That is why Jesus had to come. We cannot live up to the word, but then again the word says "What shall we say then? Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? God forbid!" We still aim to live right. We will continue to miss it. We don't look at things and justify them according to how many folks are doing them. Seek Him and He will give you peace about what pleases Him and not yourself.

you are misleading people on the revelation quote. Jesus had no tattoo on his thigh when he was crucified. I was with you until that point in your video. No one really believes our Lord stopped by a tattoo shop in heaven and put king of kings and lord of lords on his thigh. REV 19:16 is describing figuratively the awesome power of Jesus when he comes back. it says "on his robe and on his thigh" . It was custom for kings to have their robes and scabbards for swords embroidered in those days. It was a custom of royalty. But at the end of the day no one can use this verse to argue for or against a tattoo and to do so is to take away from the vision and power of our saviour. Will a tattoo keep you from heaven?probably not? Am I as a christian going to get one? probably not!

If you look at Leviticus 19 as a whole Its about personal holiness. Christians who justify tattoos always mention the few verses that don't seem relevant for us today as to justify that tattoos in todays culture are OK. Well maybe we need to study more to learn what was a local law and what was a universal law. Here's what I read in leviticus that we would still honour today... You must be holy because I, the Lord your God, am holy. Respect for your mother and father. Do not put your trust in idols or make metal images of gods. Do not steal, Do not deceive, do not lie, do not insult, do not twist justice, judge fairly, do not gossip, do not stand idly by when your neighbours life is threatened, do not hate, confront sin, do not avenge, do not fortune tell, do not practice witchcraft, keep the sabbath holy, respect your elders, fear your God, love your neighbour, do not be dishonest, DO NOT TATOO! Yes these laws were given to the Jews in order to be Holy unto their God. To be separate. Thats why, in part they were not to wear clothes with mixed fabrics, no mixing, but separation to their God. It was, in part I believe symbolic. Now lets look at tattoos. Why do people get them? Usually to show off, look cool, make statements & self glorification not to mention they give a particular "look" of rebellion - therefore that alone is enough to say no. Whilst we are free to do anything, it does not mean we should or that it is a good witness. Sure Tattoos are art and Christians can have a Godly message but I think they are week arguments for an over arching issue. To be Holy unto God and be separate from this world. Not saying we live in a hut in the middle of no where but we are to try and live separate from the spirit of this age and instead live for the glory of God. I do not believe that people go to hell for tattoos, thats ridiculous. There is forgiveness for all who repent but should Christians go and get a tattoo? For me the answer is no because I do not believe a tattoo honours God but rather gives self glorification to the person who has one. Therefore for me tattoos are a form of idolatry and something to avoid. Plus they look awful! If christians started to read the bible, believe it literally where it is meant to be taken literally then we would not need to debate this subject because the bible is clear - no tattoos.

316TheVoice Yes, thats my point. I don't want to come across as one of those Christians who takes issue with every other Christian, it's just that this guy (Jeff) seems influencial and "hip". Yes I know I'm a bit older than he is! :) Whilst tattooing is not a salvation issue, Holiness is! We are to be seperate from the world, not physically but matters of the heart. And when Christians say this is OK and thats OK and encourage us to do as the world does, I have an issue with that. What we must remember from Romans that we are Grafted into the vine and we must remain in him. One can easily fall away one step at a time when we dilute the world of God.I believe Christians who tattoo compromise! But hey, thats just me! Everyone has to follow the Lord and find out what pleases him, I'm not perfect either.

***** Would say no one is saying that tattoos or other culturally acceptable sins damn you to hell. But Paul taught over and over that Grace is not a reason to give room to sin. Proverbs 1 talks about the blessings God has for those who live and love his word. I hope to encourage Christians to examine themselves before His throne and fall in Love with His word. I know whenever I come before his thrown the smallest our most insignificant sin weighs like a boulder on my soul in light of everything Christ did to redeem me. What will it take for Christians to stop search for an excuse to fulfill the lust of the flesh and to turn their hearts to panting after God?

***** Not saying it's the unforgivable sin but at the very very least we are called to be different. Different in speech, different in attitude, different in love, different in how we present ourselves. Do we always live right? No, we fail but we should always get up and continue on the narrow way not wonder along the broad road that everyone else is walking on. Whilst is has become socially acceptable for Christians to mark their bodies does it make it right? In the same way some Christians are now embracing homosexuality as a normal thing. The two example are only linked in so much as where are we getting our reference points from? God and his Word or from culture, even culture in the church? It's too late for you, you have already marked your body but what about those who are considering it? Should Christians encourage this? I think not.

Which law? the law of moses that doesn't apply to today's Time Space whatsoever? the so called Torah is not eternal. It was given to the Israelites to govern themselves. It was placed upon them without a choice. Supposedly Christ came to set men free again from bondage to man made laws, for Moses was but a man. I personally would like to stay on the side of caution... and not hatin but you don’t need a tattoo to know your loved or forgiven, and I know you know that. But whether its right or wrong, it doesn’t matter our opinions. It matters what God says. And plus these bodies are carnal. They will pass away and God will give us glorified bodies in Heaven and in the new earth. But I won’t judge anyone if they have one or not. I can see why people say it’s Ok and I see why people say it’s not. I’m not a big tattoo person anyways. But I were to get one I would get something g about Jesus. But he’s coming soon anyways so there are big things to take care of rather than worrying about the outside things. If we let Jesus in on the inside, the outside will also be taken care of. If we just keep our eyes on Jesus it will all be ok! I Love your ministry! Jesus loves you!!!

I thought it curious that you didn't mention that the verses that reference tattoos, are in the Old Testament. We are not under the old Testament, but rather the new one through Jesus. The word Testament literally means contract, or covenant. The law was fulfilled when Jesus died for us, so we are no longer required to follow the laws and decrees of the Old Covenant. Due to this, we no longer have to worry about eating shellfish, meat, and we don't have to marry our brothers wife when he dies. Likewise, we do not have to make sacrifices, since Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. Which is why He said "It is Finished", before He died.
@Greydjinn
@Greydjinn 11 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm. Just remember, Jesus came to FULFILL the law. I feel many have this "toss the Old Testament" out idea and that is utterly foolish. Instruction, patterns for the new, and the groundwork is laid in the OT. Churches that get away from the OT are making a grave mistake. Now we must not become "religious" as to say bound by diets and such, but God does honor those who obey such things in light what Jesus did for us. Again, Romans 6:1 warns of us of abusing grace. God Bless.
@saintveloth5250
@saintveloth5250 11 жыл бұрын
We shouldn't toss it; out although as you said, it is fulfilled (finished, complete, done, etc). Christ did not come to do away with the law, meaning he didn't make it ok for us to commit adultery, lie, steal, etc; without punishment. However, the punishment was taken by Him on the cross. This is why we don't need to ask God for forgiveness every time we sin. The forgiveness has already been given. Jesus died once, for the sins of all. Romans 6:15 says "What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means!" Paul is clearly stating here that we are not under the law, but rather under Grace. Although when we sin, we open ourselves up to the negative traits of the Law. (Jesus was the final sacrifice for our sins under the law, however when we sin, we "step down" in a sense, and lose that covering.) However, once we repent (turn our eyes back to Jesus) we once again become free of the negative connotations of the law. If we are following Jesus in everything we do, we can never get sick, diseased, poisoned, etc. We are a new creation under Christ, through Grace. Amen

No Tattoos are a sin that is connected to witchcraft through bloodletting and shamanism. God was warning his people not to do this because this was how Pagans worshipped demons. It is a demonic act and if you do this you will invite something spiritually and you won’t be able to control it. This is why people get addicted to getting tattoos. All that blood shed and mutilating the flesh is a disrespect to God. Any Christians doing this needs to repent and denounce any covenants made in the name of Jesus.

Someone Else These are great questions. Tattoos fall under moral laws because it is apart of witchcraft (which is an abomination unto God) through Bloodletting, Shamanism, and Sado-Masochism. In Deuteronomy Chapter 19 God continued to tell his people to stay away from what the Pagans are doing for what they do is not of God. The image of the tattoos doesn’t matter in the demonic realm. Demons don’t see what we see when we get a tattoo. They look at them in the Spiritual realm. People have gotten tattoos of scriptures and music notes and demons were still connected to them and form demonic covenants. Also, when you’re getting a tattoo, you’re participating in a blood ritual. The tattooist is known to be a Shaman or demonic priest and he or she can transfer demons in them into the people they are tattooing. These things are the reason why God said not to do it.

Thank you for your video. From a contextual point of view, it makes sense, however, in Romans 12:2 it states "Don’t be conformed to the patterns of this world". Tattoos are patterns of this secular society we live in, that's like saying it's okay to smoke marijuana because God made earth, and everything he made is good for consumption. Smoking marijuana are patterns of this secular society and thereby we shouldn't be conformed to the patterns of this world just like tattoos! The book of Revelation is filled with symbolism, and the description in Revelation 19:16 is symbolic. In the same passage, Jesus’ eyes are said to be “like blazing fire” (verse 12), His robe is soaked in blood (verse 13), and there’s a sword coming out of His mouth (verse 15). Obviously, none of these descriptions are literal; the name written on Jesus’ thigh is probably figurative, too. The mention of the name being written on His robe and His thigh could very well mean that the words are not on His skin at all; rather, they are written on the part of His robe that covered His thigh. In ancient times, a king or noble would often have his title or honorific woven into his garments and engraved upon his blade, its hilt, or its scabbard. Given that the scabbard would hang from a band at the waist, the words on the scabbard would fall at roughly thigh level. This would be a reasonable explanation, given that Jesus would never violate Levitical law since he was a Jew.

Very interesting subject. I’m learning that we as a people, especially those of us that are Christians, are either justifying or trying to justify our actions because none of us want to be at odds with God. Whether tattoos or body piercings are sinful or not is really not the heart of the matter, but whether an individual heart is right with God. I personally do not have any tattoos or any body piercings; not because I ever considered whether or not it was a sin to have any of them (tattoos and piercings), but because I didn’t need none of them to remind me that I have been washed in the BLOOD OF JESUS! Paul put it best when he wrote, and I’m paraphrasing, although I know that there is only one God and foods offered to false gods can not do me any harm, I will not eat of those foods offered to idols if it causes my brother to struggle or stumble. Paul understood that although he knew he was not sinning if he ate foods that were offered to Idols, and he also knew that those foods were made available by the Almighty God and if he blessed it and gave God thanks for it, the food would be good for consumption. But Paul further said, if eating this food was going to cause his brother, who was weaker in the Faith, to believe he/she had sinned, he would not eat that food in their presence. 1Corinthians 10:23 “All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.” I simply believe that, sometimes, before we make decisions, we should ask ourselves if our actions may cause others to stumble or some to think that there’s nothing to Christianity. We are to be the best examples of the disciples of Jesus Christ and because we’ve been delivered from the wrath to come, does not give us a license to do everything we want simply because we can. Paul said Jesus Christ came in this world to save sinners. Are my actions contributing to Kingdom building and saving souls is my greatest concern.

If I do something that causes my weak brother to stumble in faith, then it is best not to do it. Some brothers may think that tattoo's are sin and some will know that it is not... But the thing here is do you care enough for your brother to do things that edifies faith or to do things that stumbles faith. When in doubt with anything I always go to what Paul said about in Romans 14:13-23 which concerns about food offered for the idols, it has a similar theme about believers who argues whether something is sin or not.

Saw the "Jesus > Religion" years ago, and loved it. I guess I'm late to the party because I'm just now stumbling onto this channel! LOL! More great videos! Just adding my comment to this discussion: I respect the light-hearted spirit of the vid, and the "call" for civil, intellectual discussion...Not much of that online anymore. That being said... I somewhat disagree with the perspective on this topic. Many tattoos and their parlors have a somewhat occult vibe. Don't know what it is exactly, but there's just a discernment in the Spirit. Tattoos, also, tend to be for "show" and don't represent a meek and humble spirit, which we are called to model. In addition to this, we are all made in the image and likeness of God. We're His "babies" built in His spitting image! Not even the angels can put forth that claim! Why should we then PERMANENTLY alter this amazing image? Can we conceive some form of artwork to improve what God has done? In (1 Corinthians 10:23) Paul states: "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." Now I understand the context for the entire passage, and this verse would still be very appropriate for this situation; and is applicable to us while under the New Covenant of grace. The old Levitical laws and statutes were akin to city ordinances, and are like a "Best Practices" list for all of God's people to live by. Most of them are still good for US (Job - what can man profit God?), and we won't be any WORSE off if we abide by them. These statutes were written by the Hebrew leadership and were good to have an orderly people, as well as to be distinguished / separate from the "world." Jesus supersedes the dogma and legalism of those enforcing these endless statutes, while yet leaving the Commandments given to Moses intact. Those laws were written in the stone tablets by God Himself as our spiritual "mirror," and will stand forever. Amen... Thus, we can wear items of various materials and eat bacon, but we still TRY to not steal, kill, etc... But the main point is this: Although grace has made all of these ordinances "legal," they are still good for us and therefore "expedient." In my humble understanding, we should try to avoid tattoos. But either way, I know we can agree on the fact that Christ made it possible for all of us believers (flaws and all) to be in His presence forever! Be blessed, and keep pumping out HIT videos!

it wud be nice if your theology was correct doctrine. however so many Scriptures in both the old and new testaments teach 'blessed are those who *do* his commandments. and to love God is to obey His commandments. God places a lot more weight on obedience than our 'Christian culture does. I think there are 4 or 5 verses in the last chapter alone that refer to actions or doing or keeping His commandments. our works are very important to Him. more important than 'sloppy "Grace Christianity" admits'. commandments are commands. they are not best practices. a doctrine that calls His commandments 'best practices' is a luke-wark, watered down 'Christianity' that is fit to be thrown out. Jesus said whoever *does* His commandments, that is practices them is like a man wto builds his house on the rock. but the man who does not *do* them is like a man that builds his house on the sand. dude, enjoy your house with a sand foundation while it lasts, because ur house is going to get washed away. i'm only a brother who cares enuf to share with you the truth that the Word teaches us.

grace has *not* made murder legal. nor any commandment that God told His people not to do. any doctrine claiming such is a doctrine from demons, according to the Bible. the ten commandments include keeping the Sabbath day holy. commandments that didn't make it into the '10 commandments' also command some things, and prophecy in the last chapter of Zechariah teach us that God will hold 'all nations' accountable to keep one specific teaching (that your Bible translation probably mistranslates as a 'law'). Please do read the last chapter of Zechariah (14) and pray that you aren't one who will fall under that curse. it's real. this teaches us that God doesn't retract this 'law' (correct translation is a 'love teaching'). this is in direct contrast to what popular 'Christian' teachers teach. but they will reap the curse. they don't study to show themselves approved. :(

In Leviticus 19:28 it says "You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: 'I am the LORD.'" any time I've seen it written "I am the LORD" or "worship the LORD only" God is talking about idolatry. The issue isn't with the tattoo, but with the purpose or reason for them. What about tattoos that say "Jesus" or "Hope is my anchor." are those wrong simply because they are permanently on body? If so how? They both would bring glory and honor to God when seen/read. In the end it's about the heart not the outward apperance. I personally do believe, anyone who wants to get a tattoo or piercing needs to seek God about it. Because our body is made for worship and our real passion is to worship Him.
