@@leeduncan5504 im on the same boat with set ups lol. From penny board size all the way up to a vision deck. Just been looking for a 8.75 shaped deck to get my hands on . For some reason between regular skateboards and oldschool style fish decks the oldschool wins me over lol. Plus they have space for my giant feet haha. And the adrenaline from skating is the most addictive thing in my life lol. Right next to the satisfaction of grip tapping a board haha. And I hope you take care! my gf has been recovering from the jerk named breast cancer for the past year and skating has been a nice mental health clinic for me when I get a chance. Dude u explained it very well. Very detailed explanation about the technical differences between truck brands. I was considering getting Indy's since everyone says they're the best in the market, but now I'm seriously considering getting Tensors, not only because they're lighter and more stable, but also because I'm a huge Mullen fan and he basically designed them.

Tensor trucks are awesome. And they really do live up to that life time guarantee. I'm not much of a hard core skater anymore like i was but I've had the same pair of Daewong Song Tensor trucks since I was 16. I'm 28 now, And They are still being used on the deck I have laying around. Just to add my 2cents, I prefer to ride my trucks at a medium tightness, tight enough to setup for tricks and cruise straight well avoiding most wheel bite upon landings, but still lose enough to turn without constantly having to tic tack... The break-in of Tensors ATG maglights is vary odd, I dont think ive ever had another truck that changed so much from day to day early on... like one day theyd feel tight, the next maybe a little loose, and then the next just right and was consistently tightening and loosening them before a skate sesh, then one day they were just perfect! and they've been my fav trucks ever since. Call me crazy but I think the odd break-in of Tensors is 100% due to the top bushings dimple thing that is slightly recessed within the truck, but once they properly break-in they feel amazing. I like that you mentioned the sturdiness/stableness of Tenors cause many of the newer Tensor reviews leave that out but to me Tensors for sure seem extra stable until you want them to turn and then they break into a nice turn. Personally I rode Indy and Tensors ATG mags on my 2 setups last season, 1 for street and 1 park and didnt find much difference in turning radius... how quickly they break into a turn is vary different, again Tensors ride straighter until you want them to turn but once turning they felt quite similar to Indys imo, Indys break into a turn with vary little effort... like a little to much heel or toe weight well setting up for a trick and your gonna begin to engage a turn, the Tensors on the other hand are vary stable for trick setup and only take slightly more weight pressure/effort to engage them into a turn. I could be wrong, but I believe the additional stableness is due to the dimple as well... like it adds some rigidness/stability for cruising straight but also doesnt hinder turnability when you want to turn... a main feature of Tensors has always been there ability to go straight, just watch old Mullen vids talking about what makes Tensors different/his philosophy of how a truck should work, in Mullens mind going straight with the least effort possible is key to a good truck... Tensors are the oddest trucks but in a good way and once you adapt to the odd and unique features they're simply the best imo. Also being Canadian, I found Tensor bushings to be way, way more durable then indys, the last couple months of the season as the chilly fall weather rolls around Indy bushings become hard and brittle and will crack and break super easily, didnt find this to be a issue at all with the Tensor bushings... The Shortys Doh-doh bushings are one of the only other bushings that I know of that arent severely effected by weather changes, I believe shortys even mentions it in some ads/descriptions of Doh-dohs.

@@TysonHook-22- hell yeah G there’s no right answer to how looser tight you ride your trucks. It’s all preference. Sometimes trucks are just really weird. Great review and dope sk8ing, Andre! I am in a search of new trucks and have never sk8ed tensor. I am in my late 30s and now i sk8 mostly flat, ledges, manuals and some small stairs. I have been mostly on ventures and also have tried some destructos, krux, royals, but never the big ones - indy and thunder coz they are more expensive. I was thinking to give a try of thunders this year coz they are a really rad company, but i have two concerns - the baseplate for nose/tail slides and the durability/money relationship and tensors seem to stand better on these two. And the new tensors atf seem to have better kingpin clearance and a turning. What is your opinion on tensor vs thunder.? Greetings :)

Was wondering if anyone had some input on the bearing “spacer” that sits on axle between bearings. Rat Vision did a vid years ago about them but kinda focused on putting the spacers in weird longboard wheels. Some are too big for the wheel? Needs to sit perfectly between bearings without popping them a bit outta the pocket?

i have a question, im from argentina and here most ppl use (or at least when i was younger idk now) those pads that go between the trucks and the board, and i always thought it was to absorb some of the impact and not damage the board or something, but im seeing that americans dont use em at all or they use them to make the truck higher? idk
@delplaya5
@delplaya5 3 жыл бұрын
Those pads are called riser pads and they are used to make the trucks higher. They were used to prevent the wheels from touching the board during turns because wheels were a lot bigger back in the 70s and 80s. I always had them on my board, now I don't. I'm sure kids in Argentina don't either. Now that wheels are smaller there is no need for them, although you will still see some people use them if they have big wheels or really low trucks. They do absorb some impact and shock and probably prolong the life of the board a little depending on how soft they are. Ps I've been to Argentina. Enjoyed it.

@@Kareem-si7bg yeah these are pretty heavy but nowadays they do make them lighter, but they still are not my favourite truck to skate. I definitely love thunders the most now just because I got used to being able to turn a lot better and tenors. Don’t really have the greatest turn, but at all, still have a soft spot for tenors in my heart, it’s my childhood. I love that and thanks for watching the video and commenting man. Nice Video bro. Came here from your Instagram. You have to make new vids. To topic: i love my destructo d1 atm, but trying Venture v lights low for the stability ✌🏻 Destructo‘s are lightweight and a medium turner in my opinion. Oh and the only trucks I like the standart bushings with. In my early days I loved the tensors with the slide pads 😄

I bought the newer "all terrain geometry" Mag Lights and yea they were literally too light. I fell for the idea that having a truck over 100g lighter than indys would be a next level ride. Turns out you really dont want a truck any lighter than about 300g. The hollow axles added to the flimsyness. The turn and geometry was good on em though so i would recommend the aluminum solid axle ones.

I only skate Enjoi boards, I love the steep kicks and the flatter concave , tensors on an Enjoi 7.75 was my first set up, I love the turning it’s actually very sharp but I use my trucks loose, I changed to indies and they were a bit heavy but I find the aces are the best though, they aren’t too sharp turning but they keep the pop nice and balanced, I find that indies feel really hard to pop and I’d get a lot of ghost pop

@@F34RSkull probably wheels too wide around 40mmish something. Anyway it's hard doing tricks with high setup bcoz of 59mm wheels. Closer to the ground easier to balance. Ricta chromecores clouds suggest 34mm wide for 54,56 mm enough for rough pavement and not overweight your setup. Anyway as beginner you could skate better and learn with as skinny and as light wheels as possible if we talking about street tech tricks. Ceramic si3n4 bearings is the next level of improvement for crap surfaces

F34RSkullbones maybe buy smaller cruiser wheels and lighter trucks and a smaller board because if your cruiser board is huge it’s going to be very difficult to learn flip tricks on it, tensor mag light mids would help with the weight also thicker shoes will make it easier too Hope this helped And thank you for watching my vid 🙏
