Thank you for taking time to do this video! I am now approaching 69 (only in body maybe but certainly not in the head!) I cant tell you how quickly the years fly by once you retire. My husband and I have been incredibly lucky and are enjoying our retirement to the fullest but so many of our friends are not so lucky! You are right to enjoy every little thing. Have a wonderful birthday and here’s to many more! Really enjoy your channel.

Hi Rhi, I loved this little vlog... you came across and spoke about your thoughts on aging so eloquently, you could tell you worked in a teaching profession. I've never really thought about getting old, it just sort of crept up on me! I'm in my seventy third year and if I say it out loud it's scary... because I don't feel that old. I've been blessed with good genes, I'm not on any meds, I only take supplements, I do wake up and find my back is a bit stiff... but as the day progresses it wears off. I'm very active, always have been... well, in my adult life, I didn't like PE much at school 😊 I do worry about losing my mind as I age... that's the only real worry I have, besides not wanting to be the one left on my own. Looking on the bright side we love our holidays, our grandchildren are past the age of taking out and keeping occupied, so we have more time for ourselves. All in all, you said it perfectly, I can't really add anything to it. We just have to make the most of everyday in whatever pleases us. Take care x

@@maryphillips864 thank you so much. That's a worry for me too, losing my mind & my memory but I try not to think about it too much - it's not under our control. I'm glad to hear that you are so healthy & well. Xx

When i was 59 going on 60 i didn't even think about it really, it was just another birthday to me. I have been a volunteer at a over 50's center for just over 4 yrs now and i love it. There are so many members to get to know and different areas of volunteering too and so many volunteers to get to know too. I would be lost without that each week.

Great video. I'm.tge same age as you but I've been medically retired for years due to ms. I enjoy not having to rush anywhere and can do the things I like doing instead of working. I enjoy my chair keep fit and yoga, socialising with older people in the process. I enjoy walks with my dogs ( on my mobility scooter of course ). I am looking forward now to my grandchildren. Life is better now as my dad has just gone into a home at the age of 92 and a bit of weight has fallen off my shoulders. I also enjoy football with my daughter who goes as my carer. There is always something to be thankful for ! Thanks for your video today xx

Hi Rhian, I believe getting older is a privilege not afforded to everyone so I feel that by getting to 70 I am actually lucky. I am reasonably healthy, eat fairly sensibly, do pilates at a class once a week which is also very sociable because occasionally we go for breakfast afterwards. Also walk fairly regularly with my husband in the countryside near my home. We used to have a beautiful black lab which we had to say goodbye to in February so don't always manage every day now. I started art classes when I retired as it was my favourite subject at school and always wanted to get back into it. I'm not brilliant but I do enjoy it. You are so right life is fairly short, make the most of it.♥️
