Hi, I’m Emojoie.
I made puff scones this time.
Crunchy on the edges and tender on the inside, they are beautifully layered scones.
It has more butter than regular scones and a rich taste.
It's delicious but even better if you eat it with clotted cream and jam.

▶Ingredients for 8 scones
300g all-purpose flour
40g sugar
1 tsp baking powder (4.5g)
1/3 tsp salt (2g)
40g unsalted butter
160g cold milk
40g unsalted butter
200℃ for 15 min and 220℃ for 4~5 mins
How to make clotted cream
• Scones with Homemade C...
➢Method
Put the flour and butter in a bowl and chill it in the refrigerator.
Crush the butter with your fingers and mix it with the flour to form a powder.
Add cold milk and make the dough hold together.
Roll out the dough and wrap the butter.
Cut the dough in two and stack.
Repeat the process of cutting the dough into 3 pieces twice.
Roll out the dough to 16cm x 10cm and chill it in the refrigerator.
Cut off the edge of the dough and cut it into 6 equal pieces.
Place the cut dough upside down on the baking plate.
Spread the milk on the dough.
Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes and 220°C for 4-5 minutes.

Oh!! So delightful!!! I loved the color and the swirl design 😍 what I loved the most was the way the dough felt when you took it apart from the scone. The layers were light and fluffy like a cloud ☁️ so beautiful 😭😭😭

In Córdoba Argentina 🇦🇷 we call them "CRIOLLOS" not in Buenos Aires or other provinces just in Cordoba. We eat them with butter and jelly

A twist to the traditional scones, somewhat of a simplified croissant! I'd turn it into a 'kouign amann' with some butter and sugar on top! Thank you for the creative recipe!

these remind of a very old recipe called fan-tan rolls, which are yeasted bread rolls made of up of layers of dough with butter in between

I ate two scones of this type (original and chocolate flavour) in my recent trip to the philosopher’s path in Kyoto and they were simply sublime ❤. I can never get back to eating traditional British scones again. Your recipe and demonstration would be extremely helpful. ありがとうございました、先生 🙇🏻‍♀️🙏🏼

バターを大量に練りこんだスコーンにクロテッドクリームとジャム・・かなりのカロリーになりそうですね。 でもこの54層のスコーンはサクサクでおいしそうですね・・食べたい!!!

May I know how you arrived at 54 layers? After wrapping the butter in, 2 layers are formed. Cut into 2, you'll have 3 layers. The first and last layers adhered as there's no butter. Cut into 3, 7 layers. Last cut, 19. Sorry if I cause a headache.. Thank you.

Just wondering; wouldn't it have been better to fold in thirds rather than cut and stack the dough? Seems to me like the end product had a lot of layer separation at the stack lines of the dough which could've been avoided had it been folded instead.

No, I’m afraid they are not scones! I’m a Scottish baker, living in Devon in the UK, the home of the cream tea. I’ve made scones hundreds of times. A scone dough is quite wet, with a low percentage of butter. It must be mixed quickly, with as little handling as possible so as not to activate the gluten which toughens the dough. The dough should be gently rolled or patted out, cut, and baked immediately in a hot oven. Yours looks delicious and crispy, but they’re not scones! 😂

サクサクと層になったスコーンにクロテッドクリームといちごジャムをたっぷりと…これはもはや犯罪です!(泣) …ところで、やっぱり所々、テロップが消えるのが早すぎて、目で追えません。もう少しゆっくりと表示してくださると、助かります。
