Do cessationists think Angels speak Hebrew or Greek in heaven? 1 Corinthians 14:2 says "No man understands the tongue." So even if there was an interpreter, no man can understand it. I've been to a church where there was a tongue speaker, everyone was silent, and then an interpreter spoke. If the cessationists were there, I doubt they'd say "Finally, we see 1 Cor 14 order in a continuationist church! This is great they're doing it right!" They'd doubt the interpreter. They doubt doubt doubt. Nothing is good enough for them to believe. They're like Christian atheists. The pharisees were like this John 10:25-26.

Finally, someone combatting the ridiculousness iof cessationism. I had brain damage for 17 years. I was taught to war. And I thank God! I grew up Catholic and He brought me to pentecostal type church- to the grandma's. It was completely different. But God in His mercy knew I'd need their help. Every gift, I believed it. I needed them all! 30 years later been all over, across the seas, east, west, free in Christ sharing Him. I had no hope, real brain damage and today I'm free. Worship dance, evangelize, story in a book to help others, I had no money, left by parents, and God provided because I spent time with those crazy Jesus people and they showed me the way! I am so blessed. Today I teach water aerobics, help a parent that left me, speak, write for a national Christian magazine and wait for my next assignment from God. I can't even believe my life is and was real. From horrific destitution and despondency to fully alive and free and - capable in Jesus Christ to battle the enemy. He fights for us! We overcome! And then we laugh in the enemy's face!!! Tongues, healing, word of knowledge, prophecy, ...- it's all real!

Because they reject it they have to oppose it because if it's available they are in complete rebellion to God. They have to receive it or completely oppose it. And since they are so proud and think they have to have an answer for every question they have become the enemy of the Holy Spirit. Dangerous stuff.

The “love chapter” of 1 Cor 13 is sandwich led between two full chapters on the proper use of the gifts. The point is not “oh, love is better so the gifts have ceased.” The point is that the gifts must be used in love and that it is loving to use the gifts. Love and the gifts of the Spirit are (or should be) inseparable. Rejecting the gifts of the Spirit isn’t loving at all.

An analogy I sometimes think about. They are trying to explain the owner's manual for the car (the bible passages on tongues) without ever sitting in the car or driving the car. Once you sit in the car and operate it, the manual makes a lot more sense to you and the manual helps you operate the car the way the Designer of the car intended it to be used. One of the chief benefits of tongues is the personal benefit in prayer when your own spirit can pray to God without the soul being cognizant of what is being said ( [1Co

i desires to speak in tongues since a was born again at my early 20"s 20 yrs ago. and i got it. i went through difficult times and didn't attend church for 10 yrs, because of so many reasons, my previous church encounter problems and separate, it affect me spiritually and i was disappointed about christians. but still i keep praying and didn't lose my gift in tongues. Today go to church again. Thank God im back... by God's grace...speaking in tongues makes me feel closer to God espeyat times when i want to talk to God like only He alone cane understand, that my inner man/spirit is talking to God. Nothing compare to the feelings when i commune to GOD in tongues. i just realize that it is a special blessing God gave me as i desire. Thank you Lord Jesus❤...
