Being a 70-something grandmother, I had heard of #tradwife, but hadn't really dug into the meaning of it. I look forward to each of your emails and vidoes, and have been so encouraged by them. I have even started to memorize God's Word, making my own Charlotte Mason Box! I love the truth you shared that as long as we are loving Jesus and loving those around us, we are on the right track, and everything else will fall into place. The other stuff we do is an expression of who God made us, and we are all unique and different. Keeping our eyes focused on our Saviour, listening for His still small voice through His Holy Spirit and be obedient...that's the key! Thank you for your refreshing words on these three Biblical passages. May God bless you as you live for Him!

Being a single mother I found myself trying to double-duty the Prov 31 woman. It wasnt until recently that I broke and admitted I just couldn't do it all anymore. It was then that God gave me a desire to start over and just live for Him and others and He would give me the grace to do what I was able to do by and with His strength and wisdom. Amen to what you shared. It was refreshing to hear your words and see scripture in a new light!

That is beautiful! God doesn’t put a heavy burden on us and He wants us to depend on Him, love Him and others. Good job!

Lois, I'm so glad you're leaning on God's presence and strength for your life... and that you're asking others to help, too. Yes, we are to be the body of Christ for one another, and it's a beautiful thing to serve and be served in love. 💛

Hello, Asheritah! Thank you so much for this video and breaking it down so beautifully, backed by the Word of God. As a single in waiting, I wasn’t familiar with this movement, but I can relate because of how the church can push the Proverbs 31 woman too into a negative or burdensome place that feels impossible to achieve. Me personally, I love a good rebuke done in love and this was exactly that. Spoken in kindness (not niceness there’s a difference) and with love and compassion for all those involved. I would love to hear more from you as you mentioned in the video about the Proverbs 31 woman. This video was needed and timely. Thank you. ❤🙏

Rae, thank you for your encouraging words. Speaking the truth in love was my hope here. And yes on the P31 woman. That's going to be a whole 'nother video. LOL Cheering you on as you seek Jesus with all your heart in this season of singleness! You're doing it right! 💛

I have been a working mom... I am now a homeschool mom... Thank you for sharing this freeing message. Thank you for verbalizing on this topic. It is a message that needs shared. It is not always fun to be the one saying it and taking the heat. Thank you for sharing and being a blessing.

I needed to hear this message so much! As a working mom of 4, I have so much guilt every time I leave to go to work. I would love to stay home but we have 2 children with special needs that make that seem impossible. Thank you so much Asheritah!

How refreshing to hear this message. Didn't know about the trad movement but did feel bad sometimes for not being a homeschooler mom like others in my church. Thanks for reinforcing that what's really important is loving God and others in the situation He has placed you. I am a teacher by profession and only work very part time, while raising my family. So interesting the points you made about the Proverbs 31 woman! She actually needed help and now I feel a lot better...because I often need help and have learned to seek it out. Bless you ❤

I too , felt guilt and shame working full time to help my husband provide for our 3 children, full time . I don’t home school ; didn’t even have much free time to get my children to after school sports , as they needed transportation to & from ; and both of us were working, paying for childcare . Then somewhere along my walk with Jesus , I felt His words were telling me : “ Don’t compare yourself to anymore else. I AM YOUR CREATOR & IDENTITY OF WHO I CALLED YOU TO BE ! SINCE THEN , I try my best every day with Holy Spirit’s guidance to play for an Audience of One, JESUS.!

I had not heard of the trad movement until your email and was most interested in hearing what you had to say. Growing up in the ‘50s in the church with authoritarian teaching. It is most refreshing for me to hear from someone so young as yourself what it took me years to come to. Thank you for your honesty. And your podcasts. Chrisi from nz

Great Biblical message, Asheritah! Anything that adds to our burdens is not from God. Anything that encourages us to find our value outside of Christ, is not from God.

It's so easy though, isn't it? With messages blaring 24/7 telling us all the things we should (or shouldn't) do. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will keep showing you the way, Sharon. 💛

Thank you for being courageous and speaking truth. Thank you for bringing balance to our understanding of what it is to be a Biblical woman. Sitting down with a cup of coffee with you would be the best. I guess, I did! I listened to you while drinking my morning coffee. I am just young in a Women’s Ministry and I want to be faithful to speak truth. Thanks for confirming things I have been pondering and thanks for challenging me as well. There’s a ton of take aways today but one that resonates is, ‘ shame, guilt, condemnation’….’there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus’. Jesus never leaves me feeling this way and that is the example He has given us as to how we encourage one another. Thanks Asheritah!❤ I feel lifted up and challenged, that makes for great Biblical teaching, women to women Thanks for setting that example.

Great message. I had not heard of this movement, but have to admit I homeschooled our boys for a season and loved it so much that I’ve been a bit “judgey” when other moms just don’t want to. I appreciate your Biblical perspective!

You make me feel like I should do my version of trad wife and film it. 😅. Autoimmune, health issues. Nothing from scratch anymore, a house that’s not clean because I’m busy teaching kids to clean, I don’t home school, because my kids are not baby Christian’s and are out in a “safe mission field”, I do wear a dress every day… but that’s because of ease and pain. 😊

Thanks. I’ve been on this journey since I was six. Gone through many bibles. I have to replace my HCSB soon. The leather has worn through on the spine from travelling to and frow. Pursuing the deeper life with Christ as AB Simpson would say. Or on the journey to reach the interior Castle like Saint Teresa of Avila. I’m a Raggamuffin and I know it. But I’m a Raggamuffin deeply loved who when thought of by the Father he BURSTS into shouts of songs of joy (Zeph 3:17). On a mission in my mission field here right in my neighbourhood.

I am not on social media much, so what i see is through KZbin. I can't imagine anyone who is a stay-at-home mom believing that those make your own cough drop videos are real, but I guess people do. I think comparison can happen to anyone in any field. I have struggled with this most of my life, but in the last couple of years, I have focused on who does God say I am--who am I in Christ? Because, the reality that we as Christians know, is that no one measures up without Jesus. It is only through Him and his grace that we do. So, your message is absolute truth. Loving God and loving others are our major Biblical to-dos and everything else can be a lower priority.

Thank you! In just listening to this, my self-imposed, idolatrous burden feels lighter! I had not heard of #tradwife, but yes, all those "homesteading" trends can be both inspiring and overwhelming. I very happily and gratefully homeschooled my 3 boys...the best years of my life. So my life was full and busy with play, discovery, travel, extracurricular joys. I made homemade cough drops once. Yum! I made homemade granola once. Yum! We borrowed property for a huge garden for 7 years, ending it when drought and gophers hit. I made my own baby food! I wanted to do more...bread, cheese, dehydrate everything, build a prepped out pantry/bunker. I did do some bulk freezing and canning during the garden years. And I do cut their hair. But I was/am busy. I didn't do all I wanted to do. And I don't want to be in the kitchen all day! Now that the boys are adults, I am finding a new identity. Basically, I am discovering what brings me joy in the midst of everything else in my life. Not as works, or shoulds, or idolatry. I am seeking God for how HE would order my days. How do I steward my time, money, resources, energy for HIM? And then I need to rest in that, with Him. It's a process, and I thank you for the encouragement to return to my first love. And to have grace for myself and others who have different journeys. Now where did my fermenting jars go? I still want a dehydrator for Christmas....jerky addict here!

Oh Jane, your comment made me smile. Thank you for sharing your journey here with us. It sounds like we have a lot of hobbies in common, but you're a decade or two ahead of me. I love that you're seeking God's face for this new season of your life, and asking Him to show you what it looks like to love Him and love others right where you are! He will show you the way and draw you close so that you may walk in step with Jesus every step of the way. 💛

The trad wife movement has had no impact on me whatsoever. I'm nearing retirement and carried the terrible burden of guilt as a working mom with 2 young children. Until Jesus told me that I was exactly where He wanted me to be; at work and a mom at the same time and by His grace I managed these dual roles. I also had great support. I won't be embracing the trad wife role in retirement either. I don't feel the Lord's calling for this now just as I didn't as a young wife and mother. Loved your video.

Thanks, Cindy! I just know what it's like in *my house* when I sit down to film a video, so I can only imagine the effort that some of these influencers go through to film daily content. Thankfully, we don't have to compare. There's such freedom and joy with Jesus. 💛

I'm eighty one and have lived in the fiftys. It sounds like they're talking more about the lifestyle of the tv mothers. My mom had a wringer washing machine, she didn't have running water. We didn't even have a phone until I was 19. None of that has anything to do with being a Godly women. As you said it's all about loving God and your fellow man. I so enjoyed your video. May God bless you.

Before the days of youtube, i struggled with wanting to be the perfect Proverbs 31 woman/mother/wife/homemaker. I tried so hard to be the perfect mum to my four children, i struggled with terrible pms and felt very condemned about not being " that girl". Nowadays i still feel i could have done much better although we did devotionals each night, attended church regularly, did alot of community helping,, chore charts, no Halloween etc but some of my kids have drifted from the Lord, is that my fault? I tried so hard and also battled severe homesickness ( from UK), and today i still do watch some of those videos and yes these make me feel i am still not good enough and wishing i was like them in my younger mummy years. Thankyou for this vlog, i will not take these trad wives videos seriously anymore and focus more in Jesus and not to compare myself to others.
