Ok, Star Trek Online died for me as soon as they got rid of "instead of revamping them" the exploration zones, yea the "episodes" pull me back from time to time but after getting the last mission on the cube bug out on me and have no interest in purchasing a key for another gambling box....

For many years I've thought of the idea of a 'token' to let you transfer a lockbox ship to another of your characters. It's not account wide unlock you still only own ONE ship. You can just pass it around your account. That would still let Mudd's bundles be viable.

I'd like to see STO come up with great episodes but I think it already passed its peak and it's slowly going downhill. The last memorable update I can remember is the Iconian episodes and everything else afterwards is a blurry and forgettable

It’s about time we got a re-species / re-gender token. They’ve said it’s too hard in the past but it’s only a question of labour hours not technical ability, since all they would need to do is copy a players non-species stats over to a new character in the background. 1. Read original character file 2. Strip out species specific info (species traits) 3. Create a new character as the desired species/gender. 4. Apply the non-species stats to new character. 5. Copy name from old character 6. Rename old character 7. Rename new character. As for cosmetics and costumes; we know it’s possible to port these from species to species and even across factions, thanks to the save file editor STO Academy made, and also costume hacks other players have found.

This content is why people like me got frustrated and left in the first place. I have no issues with the events some are going to be repetitive and that's okay. But the problem is they keep giving the player base ships but nothing new or exiting to do with them and that's been the biggest issue for me personally. I'll be interested in coming back if they add new tfo's new game modes, new maps etc. Not to mention there are a whole lot of bugs and issues that need to be addressed ASAP. I understand that they can't do anything new right now because of the game switching hands, but it would be nice to hear if there are any plans to add more to the game over time and not ships or events actual gameplay and activities to do.

apparently they have time to make new ships and content while the game is getting seriously broken but that issue is put aside bcz everybody's busy doing something else - I wrote them email cpl times and their responses are not encouraging. As if they totally want to ignore us calling it complaining too much??? Thanks for the update, Stu! I think that one thing STO has going for it is games like Skull & Bones and Suicide Squad showing exactly how greedy some developers have gotten over the years. And one thing WE have going for us is how badly those games are faring. STO, IMO, has been keeping a fairly even keel on the cost vs. grind factor, which is why I stick with it. That said, I think we're heading into an "age of reality" for games in general. No more grand investments in hopes of massive growth as inspired by WoW/Fortnite level successes. Smaller teams and bad AI content padding are probably in our near future. They just may force me to go out and touch grass, yet...

Anyone else tired of hearing "We're adding this to the Lockbox"? I for one don't gamble on keys/ships. I'd rather drop the $30 on a C-Store (Z-store) ship and not potentially spend ten times that for a ship choice. (Ships there may be little to no information on.) What's wrong with adding them to the store AND the Lockbox? Let players pick how they want to spend their money. (Yes I know most Lockbox ships are single character only and C-Store ships are typically account unlock) Just seems to me that it's encouraging what I (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) that all these ships going into Lockboxes is encouraging the gambling and discouraging actually just buying the ships out right. Unpopular opinion I'm sure but I just don't get it.

I haven't bought any ships for probably 6 to 7 years? Most of my characters have been flying the same ships for many years. The only new ships I get are event ships. Cryptic has given me no real reason or desire to buy a new ship. This game is in 'maintenance mode' IMO. Cryptic has just been seeing how much money they can make with minimal effort. This game would have died years ago if it wasn't Star Trek IP.

A token to change race is something that has been requested for years. The first character I created back in February of 2010 was an alien using the Cardassian face features that I have always roleplayed as a Cardassian. When the Cardassians were released as a playable race it would have been nice if I had been able to change him to a real Cardassian.

as someone looking in from the outside and observing, id say they should work on bug hunting and fixing broken features and server architecture before anything else. the worst thing you can do for a games growth is have those kinds of issues for players that want to play or are looking at it but seeing that if they did the game would present a lot of road blocks to enjoyment of it as you would hit a snag and not know what to do to get through it. not everyone will goto the wiki and engage the community to find answers or put up with a broken game.

I'd love to see a ship unlockable combined with a way to make old event rewards acquirable. Possibly also upgrading the phoenix stuff again, making it possible to get them in other ways and slotting something else in there (Perhaps the Captain/Ship/BoFF tokens there)

You take away the ship sales (which aren't content, especially the Mudd's bundles which are just repackaged old ships!) their calendar has maybe two bullet points of real note. Which is sad. I'm happy that it seems most of Cryptic is being layed off. I don't think the Deca staff can do any less/worse.

Enough of the ships! They really need to start looking at the core of the game. There's no real endgame other than trying to make your ship better for fights that are easy to win anyway or in a non-existing PvP. The game is rapidly becoming only of interest to ship geeks. They need to work on STORY content and mechanics. Too much of the content is just cheap storylines where you get to watch hired actors act. You listen to endless sniping of these game characters bickering. It gets very old. It's very passive and doesn't really engage the player. The missions need to be more detailed and with more options other than "Kill". There needs to be more exploration and ideally, they need to actually have SOMETHING happen onboard a ship. How much of the series took place onboard the ship and this is COMPLETELY missing from STO. The game is getting stale and needs to feel like Star Trek again.

I wasn't disappointed in the stream, but it didn't rejuvenate my excitement "much" for STO. I appreciated that Phil F's candor too. When Cryptic decided to focus more on the gambling releases & lessen the *storyline content* releases & rewards is when my interest/spending in STO began waning & that's been the last few years. Visually, Cryptic has done well for STO with their old engine. A "token" for what & its price will determine my interest. Those Captain's Bundle leveling-up tokens are pathetic & overvalued.

I'm glad to see a roadmap of some kind. Even if content is 'light' I like having the near term mapped out and communicated to players. They *should* do this more often and hopefully this becomes a regular occurrence as the year progresses. My guess for the token: a character reroll token that lets you keep your level, stats, existing resources and unlocks but lets you change the stuff that was hard set at character creation. So things like whether you're tactical or engineering or science or male or female etc. Alternatively, something like a character transfer token that lets you take an existing character and all their resources and transfer them to a newly created one. People have been requesting a way to swap genders for their established characters and Cryptic has consistently said they've been looking into it and said it was challenging but not impossible. I don't really need this feature for myself but I hope the people who do want it get it.

Just so tired of the same themes that south park made a great episode poking fun at Disney on it. Fix the bugs.. update older ships so we have value out of what we buy.. stop chasing the whales for a buck and make it a value that non-whales can afford to buy.

It's worth noting the t6 premium box from the current event campaign includes tons of previous lockbox ships, all the discovery ships, even 32c, all the picard ships, the shrike, the constitution 3, even the kelvin timeline ships which are incredibly rare now because no one is obtaining them anymore and this is a choice box, not a loot box itself, you get to pick the 1 ship you want most. If you're looking for a way to obtain one of these ships for free don't skip on the event campaign, start now before it's too late, soon it will be too many missed days to complete it.

The Freedom-class USS Franklin was technically the hero ship in Star Trek: Beyond after the USS Enterprise NCC 1701 was destroyed by the Swarm (and which was small starships that attacked as a swarm) then there was the Kelvin Timeline Version of the Constitution-class Refit being built at Yorktown Station that was christened USS Enterprise NCC 1701-A. Really there were no other starships in Star Trek: Beyond (and if there was they weren’t memorable enough to be worthy to have in Star Trek Online). If anything what I want to see in Star Trek Online is MORE FEATURED EPISODES, the ability to have Bridge Officers to have Kit Modules (instead of only a frame) and new additions to starships that make them more Canon including meaning a strict EPS Console Slot instead of include as Engineering and a special slot for SINGLE Isomags. And lastly all ships actually getting a Shuttle Bay for all large starships in the Star Trek Franchise have them but certain ships can only launch them for combat and those that don’t use “hanger” combat shuttles/fighters can launch non-combat shuttles to d scientific objectives in space.

I've spent probably a few hundred bucks & easily over a thousand of hours per year (in STO you spend a lot of time & money, but sometimes money can give you back some time). I've damaged relationships & spent money I don't really have. I do this because I love Star Trek & I have invested so much in to making the game playable - reputation, R&D, endeavour points etc etc but frankly it's a boring job. Recently ALL the ships that mostly got through Elite random TFOs get mashed so much it disrupts game play, & it's nearly impossible to successfully complete like Battle of Kortez was. It just isn't fun. DECA, I'm on go-slow - dramatically - with my money until you stop robbing me of the value I've bought & spent my relationships on. If the Random Elite TFO difficulty was always supposed to be harder & you've corrected, then fair enough, but you have to COMMUNICATE this to us. Many people are saying you need to get better at communicating with your customers. & the answer I want is "this is how the value of what you've worked for or bought will be protected" and then I will buy MUDD bundles etc. I can feel I'm close to the point where I'm just going to stop playing again.

So I found the stream very positive last night. I do wish that they would just tell us what is coming up. I prefer to know ‘oh that’s a ship I want, I’ll put money aside for x date’. I’m hoping the token is going to allow account unlock to lockbox & Lobi ships. I am guessing that the new TFO will probably be an arena from the latest episode. Unfortunately for me, it’s confirmed that Denise Crosby is coming back. Either as Yar or Sela, not my favourite characters. Hopefully future episodes won’t be hour long marathons. Would much rather have 3 or 4 missions that take 20 mins each. Overall I hope that they will be resolving more bugs as the content keeps coming

STO is a great game. But they either make poorly designed ships or hide good ships in loot boxes. If I were to make ships I'd make all T5 and T6 ships have mastery. (Looking at you orion corsair carrier. I spent 200k fleet credits on you.) I'd categorize them into PROPER roles. The new orion ship should be a raider, not a cruiser. My main toon is a science healer orion. I'd like an orion miracle worker carrier, or an orion miracle worker dreadnaught with science and engineering stations and consoles.

The Cryptic monetization has always been a horrible model by me, but considering the games DECA currently does, I really don't see that getting any better. Champions, I think, is still charging full price and that game's been pretty dead for a long while. If they made lock box items account unlocked, I think that would go a long way to make them more worth the money.

Would like to see a Cardasian story story arc added. Really surprise that didn't in the first place considering Cardasians were one of the main character species in all of Star Trek along side Klingon, Romulan, and Fed. Instead we got Dominion and the only part of Star Trek they were part of was DS9 really. Me personally I don't really care for the Dominion story arc and think they really drop the ball on doing a Cardasian arc instead.

Why is maintenance down time so random lately? 5 am today? I went to log my dailies and now am waiting until possibly 1:30 pm my time. Throws my personal daily schedule off when this happens. Why cant they start at the same time on the same day of the week? At least then I can plan my dailies out so I can maintain my schedule IRL. Frustrating to say the least.

At first it was cool and felt special since it was rare, then we got expansions with partial reuinions which was neat, now it feels like every mission has some actor from the show in it and it just makes me feel like a side character, which has been the case for years now imo.

I am not sure what they will use the tokens for but I am interested to see what they will be use for. I think what they’re doing for content release is good for right now. Until they get situated and people trained it probably for the best to limit themselves a little until they are full staff and trained. I would like to see them release more story arcs missions when they are ready and if able to. Even if it is a mission that can go with an event separate from the main story missions.

Aren't we in the middle of a Borg arc? Or is all it takes for super Starfleet to defeat the pushover Borg these days a couple of episodes? It would make sense that the Borg would retreat after realizing the plot armor of the Federation was invincible. The Etherians probably realized that as well, it doesn't take much for super Starfleet to win anymore. But what about Kuumaarke's PTSD after killing one human shaped Borg though? Even though she happily blasts Tzenkethi and Klingons all the live-long day?

I wish they would give us some more playable Frigates. I would love a KDF Frigate either Klingon (And there are many in the tabletop games which they've pulled ships from in the past plus the Klingon Frigate class Hanger spawns) or one of the allied races like the Gorn, or Nausicaans that already have NPC Frigates. I also want another Fed Frigate so I could have a full set of Fed captains each with a different Frigate (Right now I have a 25th century with a Bozeman and a Discovery era with a Freedom. I was very annoyed when I discovered the Frigate classes from Wolf 359 were reclassified when added to the game.) plus a Frigate I feel would fit a Dominion character (A Fek'lhri Frigate would work though it would also be a fitting choice for a KDF character IMO.)

Maybe the token is about updates to the infinity box and they’re turning it into a Phoenix box system. We saw that new UI perhaps there’s a bigger overhaul coming.

I am disappointed with this last clean on event.Cause I was hoping for a new clingot one in the winter event.But I was really hoping to get another 1 From the cling on event and I just felt disappointed. I have completely made all the cling on characters I want and they will not be making any new So if they came in😢 ones I will not be making any new characters so if they ever do add new thanks for the events I hope I can claim them on existing characters

An interesting idea for a token would be one that allows you to add the special procs/abilities from the Reputation weapons to your crafted weapons of the same general type (energy, torpedo, ground). Being able to craft Radiant Disruptor Arrays or Protonic Plasma Dual Beam Banks would potentially increase the interest in the non-set reputation weapon abilities. It would also not interfere with the current monetization model in any significant way.

If it is a token for ships that will allow you to take a ship that you that is not a ship that is bought with real money and make it an account unlock here think lobi ships or any other ships. Plus that ship token could also be used to unlock any previous event ship that you don't have unlocked. Just think about those that started STO later than some of us and want to have the Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser. But since they didn't play the event that opened it, they could use that token to unlock it. As long as those tokens are not super easy. And it could even be for ships that are bought with real money if those tokens are not that easy to earn. A new token could be used to open lock boxes so that players don't have to buy keys or earn the energy credits to buy the keys. But again as long as how easy it is to earn them will determine how bad the idea will turn out to be in the long run. Since this could be anything at all I will wait till I see what that token is.
