Thanks bud, love your film breakdowns. Helps an Englishman not to panic, in spite of the general nfl media. It confirms what I see with Caleb, a young quarterback learning his trade and improving. On the 4th and 1 speed option, Caleb said that there was a check built into the play if they didn’t get the 6-1 defensive look they were expecting to see based on film study. However, they broke the huddle with around 10 seconds on the playclock so there was nowhere near enough time to change the play at the line on 4th and goal. That needed to be a coach recognizing the play was screwed and calling timeout from the sideline. Instead Eberflus put the blame on his players in the post game press conference. Can’t have that.
@jiordone8563
@jiordone8563 4 сағат бұрын
Honestly, just have Caleb fake the run and keep it himself running outside and he probably walks into the end zone or dumps it off to a wide open TE. It's obvious the Bears can't run the ball right now, so why try to punch it in 4 plays in a row? Bears score there, it's a different game that they probably win.
@duvolthompson1705
@duvolthompson1705 4 сағат бұрын
@@jiordone8563 The Bears aren't trying to run though. And they need to use Roschob. Roschon had 8 for 30. If you just feed him more, and run on the interior, you'd have a more balanced running game. Swift goes down immediately on any contact. The Bears can't have a rookie Qb throw 52x in a game which was basically a 1 score game the whole time.

That sequence of plays alone is a fireable offense. Not that anyone should or would be fired. And Flus had to make sure we come away with a TD. Him not getting involved with Shane is why I believe he’s a great DC and not a HC

Good breakdown, as usual. Reminder, Eberflus: 1) claims to sit in on the offensive (pun intended) meetings; 2) wears a headset. So he knows what's in the playbook, hears the calls being made, yet, as a DC, has allowed those crapass plays to not only exist, but to be called? He's as much to blame as Waldron. I'd also bet at sometime during the season, if the offense continues to suck, either CW and/or his dad will have words with Ryan Poles about the coaching staff and insist changes be made, no later than after the season.

Before the 4th and goal we ran Roshon Johnson to pick up the pick up the previous 4th and 1. Then sent him to the bench and brought in Herbert at the goal line and tried to jam him up the middle. Also on one of those plays we had 180 lb Carter trying to block a 280 lb defensive end. Unbelievable.

Assuming they don't get Williams drastically injured, he'll be MENTALLY injured and will be a recovery project. Because that means he's cognizant of whats going on/his mistakes. ----btw, Im not panicking 3 weeks into a rookie QBs career. Panic if he still sucks in year 2 or 3. Btw, u can see Caleb made improvements in each game after week 1 . So im not tripping. Btw, Rome will be a STUD. even while playing vs a better back 4 vs Tennessee and houston, he showed he can get separation, if not, still catch a contested ball

Caleb said he had a Check call for that 4th down 'Speed Option' but feared the Delay of Game with only 5 or 6 secs left on play clock, so he just ran it instead of calling timeout or doing check anyways forcing HC to call timeout when play clock hits 1sec or eat the 'DoG' penalty. I see that play as simply the Growing Pains that come with Rookie QBs being a Rookie Qb on Sunday.

Waldron makes the game too hard. When you have talent (Willaims, DJ, Allen, Kmet, Swift) you dont need to be exotic to having a functioning offense. You can just max protect and any of the guys i mentioned can still beat a double team. instead, waldron goes zero protection and does 5 out with creative play calls which gets his qb sacked or pressured. he finally changed it up a bit in game 3. just get kmet the ball against zones. let rome win deep. get the ball to swift in the flat. let DJ be DJ. Now, all he has to do is run herbert and rojo 25 times a game. let williams pass 25 times a game and use swift as a 3rd down pass catching back. thats what any SANE OC would do. Waldron uses his lightning as thunder and his thunder as lighting. its the most moronic running game ive ever seen.
