People seem to be upset that I have offended their imaginary boyfriend doing their makeup on the train platform - here is my point again- normalising makeup on men …. Whoever you are, this guy or not … even if it was me who did it … doesn’t involve setting up your phone with a light in a public space and applying it. It might look normal when we watch it but not when you’re out and about seeing it. In fact… I wouldn’t consider that normal if anyone did it. It’s The weird tiktok world we live in and no …. It’s not normalising anything. This is why successful pages like “influencers in the wild” exists with millions of followers… because seing someone do somthing like this in a public space …is not normal and people like to tease the people that do it, wether thats right or wrong in your opinion, its the world we live in.👍🏼

I've said this multiple times before, i'm also autistic and i also love reading labels and formulations, that said, i don't really like most Nina's content at all, she often ignores that formulations have the same ingredients but different concentrations or molecule forms (usually patented) that makes A LOT of difference in the final product and having the same ingredients doesn't make it an actual dupe, it's the same thing as saying that shortbread cookies are a dupe for a birthday cake since they have the exact same ingredients (flour, sugar, butter, eggs, baking powder and vanilla)

LOL at the lash curling one. I have short stubby lashes that barely fit in the lash curler to begin with, there's no room to move it 6 times!
@215juliusgirl3 ай бұрын
My issue is every curler I buy seems to be made for someone whose eyes are as long horizontally as my head. I actually got this awful mascara in a boxycharm years ago that came with a mini lash curler on one side. So I just rinsed the mascara side out and asked my superhandy roommate to macguyver something for the curler (which has no pads but is silicone or rubber but sturdy) and even though it takes three top to bottoms to do each lash, i love it and that it sits in my socket. My point, i totally lost, which was that i had really stubby lashes before i found this thing, had no idea it wad from curling them but now I actually have lashes so long that if I don’t curl them, I get mascara right under my brows 😮
@MisadventureMisty3 ай бұрын

@@MisadventureMistySame!! I have large round/almond shaped eyes with reasonably long lashes, but the last ¼ on the outside are poker straight whilst the rest are generally well behaved & are quite curled already. Trying to get those outside lashes into a lash curler (& believe me, I've tried so many different kinds over the years), is such a struggle 😣 I've tried those mini lash curlers allegedly used for this purpose & whilst they do allow me to curl my outside lashes, they also then create a separation cos it then squishes the naturally well behaved ones next to them. I just need a lash curler that's about 1" wider i think .... why is it this hard to get a lash curler that just fits ALL my lashes?! 😭

Love that you mentioned the silicone thing with layering foundation productions or primers and powders. Way before I got into history bounding, I used to layer a tonne of different under foundation products, and then layer concealer, foundation, and powder on top of those, and then sit back and wonder why my makeup looked like shit when half the products I'd just used were silicone based.

What’s history bounding? Is it like Disney bounding or am I way off?
@claireeyles75603 ай бұрын
@@jasmine.lavender It was inspired by Disney Bounding. It's taking mostly modern clothing and wearing it in a vintage way. So, for example, I history bound mostly in the 1910s and 1920's. I have a basic capsule wardrobe of modern dresses, skirts and tops that have similar shapes and styles to the 1910s and 1920s, and then I accessorise with different hats, jewellery, and makeup styles to bring the look together. If I want to I can still wear all of my clothes in a modern style as well. Some people who history bound try to go more for historical accuracy, some will mix and match different decades, some will just wear one or two genuinely vintage pieces. It's a wide open playbox of fun and creativity. :)
@jasmine.lavender2 ай бұрын
@ That sounds amazing! Was it difficult finding clothing that resembled the 1910s and 20s?
@claireeyles75602 ай бұрын
@@jasmine.lavender I guess it depends on how historically accurate you're trying to be. I decided to go with the basic sillouhuettes of the era and then use accessories to make it more vintage. One of my most basic outfits is simply a calf length A line skirt and a tunic t-shirt from Kmart. Add some vintage looking jewellery, a cloche hat, and makeup designed to evoke the era, and you've got a history bounded 1920s look. For a later 1910s look, that I can also do as an early 20's look, I have a basic white broderie peasant blouse and another A line skit. Depending on what jewellery or hat style I accessorise it with it can be circa 1918 or circa 1921. This woman history bounds more in the Victorian and Edwardian periods, but she has an excellent short video showing the difference between wearing a more modern style dress, and styling that same dress so it looks Edwardian. kzbin.info8QBHVeB0RJc?si=ZXDly0jfv5DM0Sbc

@ That’s so cool! And how handy that you can use items from places like Kmart and turn them into something vintage-esque. That account is amazing! Thank you for sharing. Her Christmas video is gorgeous. That tree! 😍 My two favourite eras are quite modern, so it’s easy for me to dress in those styles. I like the 70s and the 90s. I was a teenager in the 90s (graduated high school in 2000), and 70s fashion had a revival in the late 90s.

I know this has nothing to do with the video, but thanks a bunch for telling us to watch out for tv shows or movies with the actors wearing yellow patches of concealer! Now, I can’t stop seeing it everywhere! 😂

Robert, your tip of a setting spray with powder solved SO many of my foundation issues. I don't see a need for SO many products underneath a setting spray and would worry that it is going to pill like crazy.

1) I love how Robert NEVER lets MUAs get away with holding the makeup brush wrong! 2) It's weird watching BennettNorthen do his makeup with his hair in/on his face. It seems very impractical. I wonder how much makeup and setting spray he got in his hair. Pull your hair back so you can see your face (your canvas).

Best tip i got from you is to use eyeshadow primer, i use it not for a shadow itself but for mascara, because no matter if it is waterproof, sexproof or any other proofs it would always come off on to my oily lids. Now no problems all day, so thank you or i still would be stuck using concealer and setting powder and wondering why it doesnt work 😘

I use those velour/velvet puffs for all powder products when I travel. One for powder, one for bronzer and one for blush… it is easier to carry than brushes 😂 and it blends like a dream when you preblend product on your hand (just like setting powder ofcourse)

I spray my beauty blender with Mac Fix+ to apply/blend foundation and/or concealer. It’s perfect for me for that purpose, blending easily and stays put without breaking down.

I'm 48 female. I don't put bronzer or contour on my temples bc it. " hollows" my face out. Which naturally happens when we age and makes us look older . You highlight this area to bring it forward. Also veins start showing in this area when we age so extra foundation or concealer may be needed.

I can’t imagine that one thing bennett does: putting powder on my tight line (or its mirror image). To me it says “we are using 10 pairs of contacts today” and “we will soon have painful floating brown splotches in our eyes due to the watering that will occur from putting shadow on my tightline.” PS - you can stop your body from sweating. Of course you can’t do it head to toe or you would die but botox. Botox nixes sweat. I know because my friend was a bit sweater and got Botox under her pits. It was the first time in years she would not have to put saran wrap around them at night. And I can’t believe Makayla FAKES that accent. Why would you fake nails on a chalkboard?

Makeup looking good from head on and not from the side is a big issue with winged liner. It looks really funny to see a stark black line on the face from the side or 3/4 behind since it’s no longer creating the illusion of lashes

A note about the foundation sitting on top of his skin- I have never *not once* in my life had my foundation blend into my skin without coming off when I swipe it with my finger! I have tried skincare (more products than i can even remember) before makeup, silicone primer, oil based primer and water based primer... I have tried silicone and water based foundations, pressed powder loose powder, super matte vs natural finish ect I swear NOTHING works! I always assumed it was because I'm quite oily, but I have seen other creators say the same and they have no problems!

I've been doing "blonzer" for yrs & yrs instead of bronzing or contour. I use a nude brown blush with rosey undertones & put it literally everywhere on my face most folks would put bronzer. On my fair neutral desaturated skin it looks amazing.

If anyone who is rightfully suspicious of "influencers" has doubt about Robert's advice or opinions, I want you to know that I watched one of his sponsored videos and bought the product. I never buy anything recommended by "influencers", and I was super suspicious of the brand considering it's koren and I am not. But I tried it and words cannot describe how beautiful it is. I likely would have never tried it had I not seen Robert make a video about it.😁
