This video has been so helpful. I just wanted someone to listen to me. Trying to be heard felt awful in so many ways. This was used against me and family call me the narcissist. How can they know when they hardly listened or even knew me. Narcissist is not so black and white. I am a victim and survivor in part because of our family and relationships.

I know of a person who refers to themself as the “Director” of an Institute, but this Institute does not do any of the things that one would expect of an “Institute”. For example, it is not affiliated with a University or non-profit, it does not have an advisory board, it does not publish peer reviewed scholarly articles, it does not sponsor or participate in profession conferences of symposiums, it does not obtain grants, etc. It does charge people $200 to obtain a “certificate of completion” by watching pre-released videos. I wonder if this is a trait of narcissism by calling oneself something like this? I also wonder if this type of behavior can be related to aging where this person was born when Harry Truman was still president.
