Hi Deb ! I understand what you mean , sugar is addicting and it's really bad for our health . I have cut down on sugar intake many months ago due to the fact that my blood works came back aweful , my Endocrinologist said I was pre- diabetic, that I had to do something right away to lower my numbers. I started to do daily walk routine and I made changes in my diet . I gradually cut off my sugar/ carbs intake and I subsituted with fresh fruits ,produce and proteins . I lost 50 lbs in 6 months ( I was over weight too !) When I had my blood works done again ,including my A1C, it came normal . Then I realized that my effort did pay off ! You can do it, take one day at a time , you'll achieve your goals too ! Ohh by the way , I loveeee your Sinful nail polish color , it's such a gorgeous vibrant blue ! Tfs ! 💙💙💙🤗

Congratulations! That is awesome! It just goes to show that if we set our minds to something anything is possible! Keep up the good work, maintenance is just as hard but you can do it. :)

Hey, girl! Yes! I am a struggling sugar addict myself, which isn't hard to be because it's in everything! I've been cutting down, too. Started by switching from coffee creamer to organic half and half and Stevia instead. That with other small changes have been adding up and I'm feeling better already ❤ Great video 😊

Hi Deb, I’m Barbara and I am a sugar addict as well. When you were talking about the penny candy ad a kid, I was right there with you. I have tried sooooooooo many times to give up sugar and I am good for a while and then off the wagon. I know I cannot give it up entirely, that’s me. I have cut back considerably over the last year. No sugar or cream in my coffee and I cannot tell you the last time I had a piece of candy. HOWEVER, I have never met a cookie I didn’t like! As long as I can have a couple of cookies throughout the day, I’m good. If I do not have those couple of cookies, all will power goes out the window and I will eat whatever sugary treat I can get my hands on until I feel like I will explode. So, I have learned to control it, but I cannot give it up entirely. Oh well, I don’t drink, smoke or gamble, so I am happy with my few cookies!

I have read that sugar is not addictive but I don't believe that. It most certainly is otherwise why would it be so hard for people to give up! I am determined though!

I keep saying from the time Halloween candy comes out till after the Easter candy goes 50% off (Usually Sept thru May) I'm screwed when I go shopping. It is a struggle to get thru the store. I'm that addicted. I completely gave up all sugar up for 31 days. The struggle of physically giving up was tough but also finding things to eat that don't have hidden sugars was constant. Good luck with your journey of giving it up. I think just cutting it in half is a big step.

THe reason why I am cutting it in half (for now) is because I can't go cold turkey. I have to give it up gradually. It will make it easier when I do stop if I get used to eating less over time. I have one box of kids cereal that I'm eating right now and one box not open yet and when they are gone they're gone, that's it.

Wow! Know exactly what you mean. I have also battled the sugar monster my whole life. They really suck ya in early. A great example of that is the kid cereal thing. I fell victim to that this week too, when I saw the "Monster" cereals from my childhood. So freakin nostalgic, I couldn't help but add a box of it to my cart like a little kid. I used to LOVE Boo Berry, and Franken Berry. Now they got some mash up with all the monsters, so of course had to buy it. UGH! Got me in the feels. The struggle is REAL. I try to use Stevia or Monk Fruit now a days. But, man, the sugar dealers are marketing geniuses.

For me sugar was very addictive. I gave up all sugars 5 years ago and never felt so much better. If I have anything with sugar in it I begin to feel lousy. It is not worth it. I never buy any candy and you are right no kids anymore for Halloween.I also stopped eating bread as I was addicted to bread also.What was the no sugar cereal you bought? Just curious. Great video. Loved it!!! P.S. I never buy Birthday cake any more and don't miss it at all.

I don’t care for decadent sugar things, but I like pies cakes cookies and if I eat ice cream, it’s usually plain. I don’t like anything on it. It would be hard to completely get rid of it. I just started incorporating cream in my coffee, which is a big no-no, I like the seasonal creams, but I use very little. I’m not really a candy eater if I buy candy it might be a roll of butter rum Lifesavers or something like that and those last me for a month. The nail color is pretty!

Yes those coffee creams are a big no no so you are right about that. If you read the ingredients it's all chemicals and super unhealthy!

All cereal has some form of sugar , breads pastas , you will still crave if you don’t stop all sugar for a while eat bacon or sausage in the morning , I prep a bunch and put it in the refrigerator , listen to Dr Ken Berry here on KZbin

Actually, there are several cereals that don't have any sugar but I know what you are saying....cereal is a carb and carbs will make you crave more carbs the same way sugar does.

I have done the Keto diet in the past and it is great for losing weight but I don't need to lose any more weight. I don't really feel like Keto is healthy. My gallbladder was removed years ago so I can't handle that level of fat in my diet.

@@MrsTheDollyes, those of us without gall bladders cannot handle all of that fat. People with gall bladders have a hard time understanding that.
